Chapter 132

  Jordan.

I and Nicole dashed forward to pick the weapon. Just as my hand was about to grab it, she knocked me aside forcefully and grabbed the weapon, grunting and moving backward.

I regained balance and moved back away from her.

“Hmn.” She scoffed and grinned, holding the weapon triumphantly.

Suddenly, Nicole groaned in pain and the weapon she was holding fell to the ground. I looked at the silver edge of a sickle in her bleeding chest and she groaned again as it was pulled out of her before she fell to the floor.

I looked up to see my dark replica standing there with a large sickle stained with blood in his hand.

He glanced at Nicole’s lifeless body on the floor and back at me again..

“Hmn. I was only gone for a day and everything had turned upside down.” He said, folding his mouth disdainfully and taking a look at the dead bodies in the room.

“I thought we could only see what we wanted to see here? Why did something out of my nund just try to torture me?” I asked, pointing at Nicole’s dead body on the floor.

“Well, that might have been my fault, I guess,” he said with a smirk and I stared at him inquiringly.

“What do you mean?” I asked him and he smiled. He closed his eyes instead and I watched as the basement we were in faded away and we were in the living room of the house.

He went to see on a couch and he pointed at one before I hesitantly went to sit down. That fight with Nicole already got me tired by the way.

“So what did you mean by it was you fought, don’t tell me you mentally forced all of that?” I asked, but of course, he was the one who killed her.

“No no,” he replied, shaking his finger.

“It takes a full consciousness to maintain this place, with me going back to my prison, your boring half couldn’t handle it alone so it would slowly lose control of events and it would fall apart,” he explained to my very surprise.

Fulkt consciousness? Does that mean my suspicion was correct. I somehow had a dual personality and he was all the badass part.

I then remembered another word he mentioned. Wait what?

“Prison?” I asked and he nodded. What prison?

“You should know this. We’re not just Vampire’s Jordan,” he said and I scoffed. What now? I’m I also an Hybrid like Valerie?

“Crossing of different races most times lead to the offspring picking a side of the parents, but in rare cases it always leads to variants of which there are several types,” he explained and I just leaned back into the couch I was sitting on and listened to him.

“We are Reapers Jordan and you have no idea how powerful we are or at least, you should be,” he said and I just stared at him, having no idea about what a reaper was.

“What is a Reaper?” I asked.

  “Vampires.” He replied bluntly.

“Vampires with the ability to siphon energy,” he explained and my eyes widened in surprise. That was how he sucked the life out of those plants to replenish himself.

That’s why I felt an overwhelming energy when I briefly gave him control. That’s why be doesn’t need blood to sustain this body.

“Born as a Reaper, my part of us was locked away by of course, our dearest mother,” he said and I couldn’t also think of who else would do something like this..

Is she locked him away, she must have had a reason to and I can’t risk him taking control of my body.

“The day I became free was the day this mental world was created as an exchange point of consciousness,” he continued and I realised something in that moment.

That’s why he wanted to kill me. If he does, this place disappears and he has full control of my actions.

“How did you get free?” I asked, staring at him curiously. If he had been locked away from so many years, what brought him back.

“That’s all thanks to a Wizard who did a little too much digging into this mind,” he said and I nodded, realising what he was talking about.

Of course, it was that Elder Wizard when he wanted to know the location of Valerie.

“Be thankful though, if I wasn’t there, you’d be probably crazy with hallucinations at the moment.” He smiled. That was why Uncle Garr was so worried then.

“I thought you left, why’d you come back?” I asked and stood up from the couch. Maybe he was back to finish what he started. I can’t let him wear our face around and do whatever the hell he wants to.

“I saw you loosing control and if you die while I’m away, I won’t be able to come back and the body would be permanently dead,” he stated, “as in we won’t wake up at the other side of the portal.” He added.

“So I was a Reaper and Valerie was a Hybrid. Mom did really love to keep secrets, hungh?” I said and he shrugged.

“Well I had always known Valerie was part witch. I could sense the magical energy in her and I couldn’t tell you as this consciousness exchange world never existed,” he said and I nodded. If he was right about being able to siphon energy, that would be really useful for me, but I don’t think I can use that ability without letting him stay at the surface and risk him shutting me out completely.

  He would always remain here.

I blinked as I stepped out of the portal with the Sanctum Official.

I looked at the faces in the room and they all seemed disappointed about the meeting.

Who would have thought that all Nicole wanted to help me with was a job as an Accountant at a Shoemaking company.

“We looked what she said and she is right. Her family runs a shoemaking company with completely clean records,” Darell said.
