Chapter 134

  Jordan.

“Chestet ST Se,” I muttered out and everyone in the room faced me, looking curious.

I immediately remembered the news paper I had picked up and read while in my mental world. That was the name of the street and that was the same placer with the house where I saw Nicole.

I had the feeling that that was it, but I also didn’t want to bet on something only out of my consciousness.

“Go for it.” The image of my dark replica flashed in my head and he whispered.

Everyone in the room was still staring at me as I remained silent and my lips quivered.

“Jordan, what is it?” Lycian asked.

“I know their base of operation.” I said quickly and I could see the shocked look on the faces of everyone. They looked surprised and at the same time curious about the reason for my bold statement.

Okay, I might not have thought about the fact that I would have to give an explanation for my declaration. How do I tell them that I saw this in a conscious space in my mind and that I have another part of me encouraging me that I was right.

“All you have to do is let me handle this,” I heard my dark replica’s voice in my head and I breathed out loud as I forced his consciousness to the back of my mind.

I opened my eyes again and they were still looking at me for answers.

“Okay, how do I say this?” I breathed out loudly and briefly glanced at Lycian. I should have told him this earlier.

“I wouldn’t spill too much. Tell them you always have visions that come true and relate with reality,” I heard the voice of my dark replica at the back of my mind. Bloody stubborn thing.

He was right though, I can’t just tell everyone what I discovered. I’ll trllt Lycian later, but right now, all I need is something to convince them I am right.

I looked at Lycian and a thought struck me. Oh my God! Lycian could read minds. What if he had known all along and had been waiting for me to tell him.

“No he doesn’t,” My dark replica butted in, “I’ve been blocking his mind and letting him see only things you were ready to let anyone know,” He continued and I sighed internally.

Much better. I can’t let him know through other ways. I have to be the one to tell him myself.

“Since the last time when the Elder Wizard and Nate dug into my mind, I’ve been seeing visions that relate to reality and they are always true,” I said and they all stared at me in surprise, Lycian especially.

Okay. I’m lying, it’s much more complicated, but I’ll explain to you later, I thought to myself, hoping that he would read my mind and know this.

He seemed to have done so as he nodded in affirmation.

“Visions?” Darell asked and I nodded in affirmation.

“You’re a Vampire, you don’t get to see visions,” he said, but I shrugged.

“Hmnn. I was born by a Vampire and Witch. Variations are bound to happen,” I replied casually and he nodded.

“You said you know where their base of operation is, where is it?” Darell asked.

Wait. I remember the street name, but what is the address of that building? I closed my eyes and memory flashes of my encounter came in bits.

I remembered the door of a car slamming shut and my eyes briefly caught the house number. I opened my eyes immediately.

“1519 Chester ST SE.” I replied and Darell faced one of his officials.

“Look it up,” he said and the official nodded. He began to type rapidly on the computer before him.

We all waited for the feedback of his search and everyone was silent. I glanced at Lycian and I badly wanted to explain everything to him, but not yet. This conversation would be one sided as I can only let talk to him and he can’t since I’m a Vampire.

The official finally stopped typing and he looked up.

“The building has no connection to the Speranzini’s,” He replied and Darell faced me with an expression that asked if I was still certain that I was right.

“It was bought by a man who owns a small law firm on the same street,” the official added and I sighed in frustration. This did everything to negate what I just said, but I felt so sure that house was their base of operation.

“See? Your vision is wrong. You left the case already so just focus on picking another one,” Darell said and he looked irritated. I wasn’t ready to back down though.

“How do we know that man really owns the house?” I asked.

“They are Vampires and they could have easily compelled anyone to buy the house in his name to hide themselves,” I stated and Darell was quiet for a while before shaking his head.

“No.” He shook his head in disagreement.

“I’m not going to take my team to bust a house only to discover it is inhabited by easy going civilians and then get us sued, okay?” He retorted

I understood his fear. If we decided to hit on that house to catch them by surprise and later find out it is owned by humans, they would most likely be sued and Darell would get all the blame.

If we go gently and find out that it is truly their base of operation, we’ll most likely not get away safely.

“There’s another method you can go with,” my dark replica muttered at the back of my head and I decided to listen this time.

I listened to him talk while maintaining a blank and less suspicious expression.

His method was good afterall. Maybe I had expected that and that was why I had listened.

The method was also risky, I thought, hesitating to tell them the method.

“It’s something I can handle, trust me,” my dark replica replied and I finally decided to mention it.

  “I have an idea.”
