Jordan.
I finally stopped moving and summoned up courage, determining that I wouldn’t leave here till I have confirmed what I came here to
Suddenly I saw the image of my dark replica flash in my mind and I could sense the magic in the air even more strongly.
As the unveiling spell made it’s way towards me, I suddenly felt like the pores in my body had opened up and I began to suck in every bit of magic in the room.
The energy filled me and I felt this great strength in me. Edgar continued the spell and I kept absorbing the magical energy it was releasing. I watched as the green vines and branches began to lose their color and wilt, slowly disappearing into the air.
The vines wrapped around his hands wilted and disappeared next with his eyes reverting to their normal grey color.
He ended the spell and faced Kyle who was staring at him inquisitively.
“So?” Kyle asked.
“Nothing. There’s nobody here,” Edgar replied.
Kyle nodded and took his hands off his waist.
“Good. Let’s continue what we were doing,” Kyle said and pointed at the corridor. Edgar nodded and followed Kyle as they both disappeared into thin air.
“That was close,” I said and sighed loudly.
“No. That’s was dangerous, reckless and irresponsible,” Darell replied and he sounded annoyed.
“You’re supposed to help in this mission, not get yourself killed so don’t cause a situation where I’ll be blamed for putting a non-sanctum agent in the most dangerous task when I have my men,” Darell added.
“Uurgh. Just throw that earpiece away already,” I heard the voice of my dark replica and he sounded irritated.
“I told you, I can handle myself. Now let me find out if this is their main base or operation,” I retorted, sighing in frustration.
I felt this strange strength in me. I could feel the power I had absorbed earlier coursing through my body and it gave me this fresh sense of safety. I felt like I could overpower every thing in my way.
I felt like this energy was enough to sustain me for a long time and I wouldn’t have to feed on blood.
Now, I have to figure out the last reason I came here. To confirm if this was were they held their major operations and then I would return so we plan our next course of action and attack without them seeing it coming.
I know just where to check, I thought to myself as I remembered the house from my mental world.
I walked into the corridor and slowly made my way towards the kitchen. I stopped walking as two Vampires approached, discussing with each other.
“The car would be here soon. The cargo would take the current batch of V to Carlifonia,” one of them said to the other as they walked past me without taking any notice of my presence.
I continued walking to the kitchen and I finally reached there. Luckily, the door was open and I didn’t have to open the door and attract unwanted attention.
I saw the fridge move aside and two Vampires walked out of the door behind it, carrying a black box each.
I looked at the box closely, curios about what it was, but I ignored it and quickly used the chance to zoom past them into the narrow room it lead to.
“Did you feel that?” One of the Vampires asked and looked around. He must have felt something when I breezed past them.
“Did you?” He asked again, facing his partner.
“Yes,” his partner answered and I was scared that they would try to find out what it was.
“Yes, I can feel the stench of your bad breath on my skin,” the other Vampire added, chuckling and scoffing.
I felt relieved and I almost burst into laughter to hear that.
The Vampire’s countenance changed at the insult and he looked angry. He didn’t act out though and he just ignored his partner, picking his box back up and walking out of the kitchen.
As soon as the both of them left the kitchen, I bent down and used my hand to move aside the secret board I guessed would be there as it had been in my mental world.
Just as I thought, there was a board there and I moved it aside to reveal the dark stairs. I climbed into the stairs and immediately I did, the remote sensor lights came on.
I walked down the stairs quietly and I finally reached the foot, looking into the large basement.
Oh My God! There were so many activities going on in the room. I could see about then humans lying dead in the room, but they weren’t really dead. They had just been killed and they were Vampires in transition.
There was another section where new Vampires were restricted to beds and were being drained of their blood. The blood was being passed into tubes that carried it into a machine.
I looked elsewhere and saw another machine filling up small glass vials with the vampire blood. The vials were being arranged into customized packs and being put into boxes.
The room was filled with the stench of human blood, Vampire blood, and chemicals.
“This is unbelievable,” I heard Someone say through the earpiece in my ear.
This confirmed that I was right. This was their main base of operation and we will put an end to their activities today.
I looked back as someone walked into the basement. It was Nicole. She took off her har and jacket and handed it to a Vampire before taking a close look at everything that was going on in the basement.
“Good,” she muttered to herself in satisfaction.
“Let’s work harder and do this quickly. The cargo needs to leave for Carlifonia this evening,” she instructed and I shook my head in disbelief before walking past her and climbing back up the stairs. I arrived in the kitchen and walked out of it before zooming out of the house through an open window.
