Jordan.
I looked back as someone walked into the basement. It was Nicole. She took off her har and jacket and handed it to a Vampire before taking a close look at everything that was going on in the basement.
“Good,” she muttered to herself in satisfaction.
“Let’s work harder and do this quickly. The cargo needs to leave for Carlifonia this evening,” she instructed and I shook my head in disbelief before walking past her and climbing back up the stairs. I arrived in the kitchen and walked out of it before zooming out of the house through an open window.
I continued zooming across the street till I was far enough. I finally stopped moving and the leaves around me blew into the air.
Woah. I have never ran that fast in my entire life. I felt this energy that seemed like it would never end and I felt that I could go even faster if I wanted to.
I sighed and breathed in as I tried to regain my breath. Phew, that was thrilling, and my heart was beating so fast.
I rested my palms on my waist and I took in a deep breath. I suddenly stopped moving as I noticed something strange.
The leaves. The leaves that blew to the floor when I zoomed here had all turned grey. I could have sworn that they were bright green just a minute ago.
I looked at the trees close by and saw that the branches sticking out in my direction had the tips of their leaves slowly turning grey.
Am I?.......... Did I just absorb the energy of those plants to refresh myself?
“You bet you did,” I heard my dark replica tease and I muttered a curse beneath my breath.
If I have this ability to absorb life and energy from things, what if I do it by mistake like this time, can I give it back? I asked myself.
“I don’t know. You’re a Reaper, energy is to be taken,” my dark replica replied and I closed my eyes, gritting my teeth as I tried to shake off the thought.
I closed my eyes as I decided to try if I coukf return the energy to the plants. I couldn’t continue though as I heard the ripping of the air and I opened my eyes, looking up.
A portal was forming in the air and Darell stepped out with Lycian.
“Thank God you’re safe,” Lycian sighed in relief and walked closer, pulling me into a tight hug.
“Told you I could handle it,” I said as we broke the hug and I briefly kissed him.
“Speaking of which. How did you manage to evade an unveiling spell directly powered by nature?” Darell said, pointing at me.
Well, I can literally absorb the energy of nature itself, that’s why. I was going to say that, but I simply smiled.
“I was nervous and I randomly picked up an object. Turns out it was a dark object that hid me,” I lied and Darell looked at me unconvinced before facing the portal. I faced Lycian and he looked at me with surprise, confusion and lots of questions.
He must have heard my original answer.
“Alright, let’s go,” Darell said and I sighed deeply before walking into the portal.

I walked into the building and looked everywhere in cautiously. I heard sound coming from the kitchen and I slowly walked towards it. Three was no one there.
I was about to walk in when the fridge caught my attention. I could see the edge of a door peeking from behind the fridge.
I walked to the fridge and touched it, looking at it curiously. I decided to push it aside and unlike I had expected, the fridge moved out of the way easily.
It didn’t even have any weight. It was fake.
The door didn’t have a door knob or a way to open it and I looked at it up and down.
I slightly pushed the door with my hands and to my surprise, I heard a loud creaking sound. The walls parted into two sides and even the door shifted with one side of the wall, opening a door sized path before me.
That’s incredible.
I walked in and it lead to a small narrow room.
What the heck! What was the purpose of all that dramatic wall opening and secretive path when all it lead to was a tiny and narrow room that could barely fit four people.
I was about to walk out when I noticed the sound of the floor beneath me. I stopped walking and gently stomped my foot on the floor to listen to the sound.
That makes sense. There’s something under this place.
I slowly bent down and knocked on the floor, listening to the sound it produced and trying to determine an entry point into whatever was under this place.
I finally stopped moving my hand and as pushed tjr floor. A square shaped board went a little lower beneath the floor then I slipped my fingers through a little available hole and I pushed it under.
There was a flight of steps right beneath the floor. I took a look around again and sigged before climbing into the stairs. As soon as I set foot in, the dark stairs was immediately illuminated be light bulbs.
Hmmm. Remote sensor lights.
I continued climbing down the stairs till I reached the foot and I walked into a very large room.
I gasped as I looked around the room. There were several dead bodies around the room and there was blood all over the room.
I slowly walked through the room, taking a look at the dead bodies as I walked.
I stopped walking, shocked to see a familiar face lying dead on the floor. This was one of the men who were supposed to be around the corner when I meet Nicole and then follow her.
What’s happening? Why am I seeing all of this? When would I get out of this stupid portal. I thought it brought back only memories, but all these were things I’ve never seen.
I continued walking, but then I gasped and froze in place, spotting someone else lying dead on the floor.
“Lycian.” I croaked out in fear and looked at the drying blood flowing out of his gutted throat. Lycian!
