Jordan.
I grunted as a vampire wrapped his hand around my neck.
Bad move. I smiled and he groaned in pain, quickly taking off his hand as I absorbed his energy.
He looked at his grey hands and back at me as If he was looking at a ghost.
“Well I wasn’t done yet,” I said and swiftly grabbed his hand again, absorbing all the energy in him till his skin and veins turned grey then I allowed him drop dead to the floor.
I sighed and looked around with a satisfactory thrill. I felt like I could keep on fighting without getting tired and all I had to do was feed on the life of my victims.
Two Vampires dashed at me at super speed and they both tried to hit me from my sides, but I moved backward slightly and stretched out my both hands, giving them a slight nudge and making them clash into one another.
I smiled as they fell to the floor, groaning in pain. I looked at the other end of the basement as something flew in through the portal. It was actually two people.
What the heck?! I shook my head as I saw it was Lycian who just flew out of the portal. My best guess, he manipulated his way here.
The two Vampires on the floor finally began to get up on their feet and they charged at me once again with determination.
I swiftly punched one of them in the face and I grabbed the other one’s neck, raising him up in the air. I suddenly flung him in the air, throwing him in Lycian’s direction. The second Vampire charged at me, but I moved way faster than him and dug my hand into his chest, ripping out his heart and dropping it to the floor.
Another one of them charged at at me and threw a punch in my abdomen. I felt the pain, but for only a second before picking up a stake lying on the floor and sending it into his heart.
Lycian also staked the one I had threw at him in the heart. I suddenly zoomed towards him and glared at him.
“What are you doing here?” He asked angrily. I didn’t expect him to be here and I don’t want him to be here. It’s too dangerous and we don’t know what horror is still to come.
He pretended not to ear me and distracted himself with another Vampire that was coming at the both of us. Lycian kicked the Vampire and he groaned, staggering.
Come on. Darell shouldn’t have let him slip here.
The Vampire charged at us again and I sighed in frustration.
Before Lycian could do anything, I moved my hand at full speed and hit the Vampire’s neck with full strength, sending his head rolling off to the ground.
“What are you doing here?” I asked again.
“I’m not going to watch you go into danger alone,” Lycian replied once again, not bothering to look at me. He tested his palms on his waist and looked at the dead bodies lying on the floor.
“This are just workers, where are the Speranzini’s and the supervisors?” Lycian asked and I nodded, realizing he was right.
We had only managed to stop those used to perform all the dirty work and those who were really responsible for the activities of the Syndicate aren’t here.
“Here I am,” I heard a voice and I looked sideways to see Nicole standing there in a black top and Jean.
There she was. The cold hearted woman who caused the sudden interest of Sanctum in me.
I gritted his teeth and mustered all the speed in me zooming towards her. I was about to hit her, but one second, she was there, the next she turned out to be an illusion that I passed through. I grunted as I lost balance and I barely managed to prevent myself from falling.
“Over here,” I heard Nicole’s icy voice once again turned around again to see Nicole at the other end of the basement.
Immediately, I zoomed at her again, but like before, she became a mere illusion that I passed through. This time, I lost my footing and I fell to the floor. I grunted as I stood up and I gritted my teeth.
Why was I getting so angry and worked up. I couldn’t help it.
“Come out here you cowards!” I yelled and my voice reverberated across the basement.
There was silence for a while till I saw a ripping in the air.
I watched as a portal fully formed and saw eight people step out of it. Five Vampires and three Magicians, including Nicole and Kyle Speranzini.
I looked over my shoulder as Darell and two Sanctum Soldiers stepped out of our portal.
I took a look at all the bodies on the floor, the Sanctum agents and Darell, Lycian and Nicoles people. It all looked too familiar. In my mental world, this were exactly the faces I had seen lying dead on the floor. Not a single person more and not a single person less.
The details had been right about the street, the house, the basement. What are the fucking odds that this was not all the things that would lead to the dreadful sight I had seen. I glanced at Lycian and the memory of his dead body and gashed open throat flashed in my mind. My body had been next to him.
I couldn’t help the pangs of fear that I felt and the worry that everything I saw was really happening. I should have noticed all the details earlier than now and I should have put the pieces together.
I should have found another method that wasn’t even remotely similar to the exact scene in my mental world. I looked at the eight people that had just stepped out of the portal once again.
Nicole had the look that she felt betrayed while Kyle……. Well, he looked like he wouldn’t hesitate to rip out my heart once he gets the chance to.
“Bloody Hell.”
