Chapter 145

  Jordan.

I looked at the eight people that had just stepped out of the portal once again.

Nicole had the look that she felt betrayed while Kyle……. Well, he looked like he wouldn’t hesitate to rip out my heart once he gets the chance to.

  “Bloody Hell.”

A wizard stepped forward and I moved backward cautiously. He snapped his fingers and the large portal we had come through closed up.

“What the hell?!” Darell curser and he came forward with some of his men, but the Wizard snapped his fingers again. They suddenly hit an invisible wall as they tried to come close.

The wizard created a barrier and locked them out in the other side. It was only me and Lycian on this side.

I should have paid attention to all this and I should have taken this mission back. Even if I did, I should have never come here with them.

Not only did I put my life in seemingly obvious danger, Lycian’s life was also at stake here.

“Jordan, everything that happened in our mental world is out mind projecting into future energy. Everything we saw is going to happen,” My dark replica said, all the more adding to the fear I could already feel.

“It happened and it is going to as long as things take a normal turn of events,” he added.

“Which is why, we have to change it,” he stated and I got confused.

  Change it? How?

When your body was on the lying dead on the floor, I could sense your own mind at the surface, which means that this fight went down with you being in control,” He explained and I shook my head as I began to get where he was driving at.

  No. No. No. No.

“We get to change how things went if we do this fight with me in control,” he finally said what I feared he would.

  No!

“Nice try. I give you control and you push me away right?” I asked and scoffed.

“No, you have to trust. If not for yourself, but because of Lycian,” he said and I glanced at Lycian who was standing in alert and preparing to defend himself.

“Do we share the same feelings?” I asked and my dark replica went silent for a while.

“Yes,” he finally replied, “We share the same feelings, but mine is just a lot more intense. Whoever you hate, I detest immensely, and whoever you love, I love wholeheartedly,” he said and somehow I believed him.

I also knew within me that maybe giving him control was the only chance we have at this. I finally agreed and I closed my eyes, taking in a deep breath.

I felt a sense of courage, strength and ruthlessness overwhelm me as I switched control.

I opened my eyes and smiled cockily. I slowly walked towards the eight of them, rolling up the sleeves of my shirt.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the infamous and cunny pillars of the Speranzini syndicate,” I said in an icy tone and twisted my neck to both sides.

This was going to be fun.

“Such boldness from a betraying filth,” Kyle seethed and I smiled at him and glanced briefly at the men on the floor.

“Kyle Speranzini, the man so patiently waiting for his hideous cousin to make a mistake so he can smoothly take full control of the Syndicate,” I said with a smile and the anger on his face wore off slowly. Indeed satisfying.

“Elijah Speranzini, the egoistic and self absorbed man who yet lets himself get wrapped around the fingers of a human lady,” I continued, facing Elijah who looked stunned to hear the words coming out of my mouth.

Everyone was stunned. Let’s say it has something to do with Lycian’s psychic energy in the air.

“Nate Speranzini, youngest but married, and yet, all he ever spends money on is drinks and ladies.”

“Dean Speranzini, the self-righteous, yet barely moral one who can’t help his masochistic tendencies.” Dean looked embarrassed as I talked and he swallowed.

“Yes, of course, Nicole Speranzini, the hideously hot sister who doesn’t seem to keep a guy to herself because particular somebody keeps threatening them or compels them to misbehave,1” I stated and briefly glanced at Kyle.

“And the three Magicians shunned by their covens and enslaving themselves to Vampires all in the name of totems with access to magic of the ancient ones.” I intertwined my fingers before me and looked at every single one of them.

“Okay. That’s enough!” Kyle shouted in anger and I smirked. I could see the veins bulging in his forehead.

  How sweet.

“Let’s end him now!” He yelled and suddenly, the five Vampires started zooming across the room.

They were stronger as they were all almost two times the age of the rest of us.

My eyes darted around at full speed as I saw Dean and Elijah zooming towards me. My eyes went dark and I moved at superspeed, throwing a punch up Dean’s jaws, zooming to the right and kicking Elijah in the chest.

The both of them charged at me again and I swifly picked up a stake on the floor, stabbing Elijah in the stomach and using the stake as anchor to fling him at Dean.

They groaned as they fell to the floor and Elijah grunted as he pulled the stake out of his stomach and he began to heal.

“No. No.” I smirked and stretched out my hands, absorbing the Vampire magic that was supposed to heal him.

He looked at his bleeding stomach and back at me in surprise.

My eyes darted to the left as I saw Kyle heading for me with a broken leg of a wooden chair.

He charged at me with the stake in hand, but I zoomed out of the way so I could plant a kick in his side only to be knocked from behind by Dean.

I grunted in pain and felt my eyes turn dark.

I suddenly started moving twice the normal speed of Vampires and I grabbed Dean by the collar, sinking my fangs into his neck and drinking his blood.

It was Vampire blood and I was absorbing every bit of energy in me. He groaned helplessly with my fangs buried deep in his neck.

Kyle charged at me to save Dean, but I merely stretched out my right hand and grabbed his neck, lifting him up in the air.

I felt Dean go limp in my hand and I finally let go of him, allowing him drop lifelessly to the floor.

“Dean!” Nicole shouted, looking at his grey body on the floor.

Everyone else in the room was also looking at me in surprise and I could feel Kyle trying to struggle to break away.

I used my other hand to wipe the blood on my lips. I looked at Kyle and saw that his neck was glowing faintly as I absorbed the energy him.

  “Oh. He’s a Reaper.”
