Sentient Academy Of Magical Arts, South Maldoria.
Garr
I accessed the last of the papers and picked up the stamp, quickly stamping the paper and arranging it in the rest of the files. Right now, the semi-final of the inter-house competition was going, and I was suppose to be there as the Master of the Taurus House.
I picked up my phone and slipped it into my pocket, standing up and walking out of my office. As I shut the door behind, I looked to the left to see Mr. Parker, the Master of the Capricorn House come out of the office.
Our eyes met and he smiled at me as he shit the door of his office.
"Professor Griffin," he said as we both walked down the hallway.
"So the Taurus House made it to the semi-finals, that's impressive," he said with a grin and I smiled.
"Well, I can say the same about the Capricorn House, afterall, they came off to a rough start," I replied and he nodded.
"You know who else made it to the semi-finals?" He asked and I shook my head, looking at him inquisitively as I wondered what he was talking about.
"It's the Pisces. They made it to the semi-finals," he said and I nodded as I remembered who the Mistress of the Pisces House was.
"I heard from Katherine that Pisces are Team D and that means that they will be facing off against Team A.
You're Team A right?" He asked and I could see through the face curious expression he plastered on.
He knew this already and he was only trying to get on my nerves because of what happened between
Katherine and I.
I simply nodded and smiled.
"See you in the Arena," I said and walked past him. I hurried down the hallway so I could get out of here and portal to the arena.
Magic can't be used in these hallways and in the major chambers. It was only a precautionary action to avoid magical attacks.
I walked out of the hallway and quickly got into the elevator so that I'd be alone inside of it. Just as the doors of the elevator closed, I saw someone stop it with their hands and I thought it would be Professor Parker. I was surprised when I saw that he wasn't the one and it was Katherine.
And I had thought I was the Master who would arrive at the Arena this late. I hid the surprise in my expression and intertwined my fingers before me.
She walked in and I watched as the doors closed. The two of us didn't say a word and there was an awkward silence, well until Katherine decided to talk.
"Morning Garr," She said and I felt like something had clogged my throat, making me unable to talk. It would be rude not to reply someone who's greeting me.
I swallowed hard and replied without facing her, "Morning Katherine."
It's been a long time since we spoke despite the fact that we both taught in the same school and I expected the little conversation to stop at that.
"Garr, you've been avoiding me," She said and I sighed internally.
I really didn't want to do this. I never expected this sort of confrontation to come up 13 months after we parted ways.
"None of this was my fault Garr and you know it," She said and I sighed again, this time, deciding to finally look at her.
"What do you expect me to do Katherine?" I asked and she remained silent, tucking loose strands of her hair behind her right ear.
"You don't think it'll be hard for me to look at you and know that the woman I loved is with another man?" I asked and she nodded.
If I knew that this would happen, I would have never let myself fall in love with her. Elder Mages hardly have Bethrotheds and there is even a much smaller probability of finding them if they do.
I fell in love with Katherine without for once considering what would happen if any of us ends up having or finding our Bethrotheds.
"But I miss you Garr," she said and I swallowed hard, smiling bleakly.
"I miss you too," I replied, "but I think it it's for the better. I don't think it'll do any good if I involve myself with you for the sake of Micheal," I stated and as the elevator's door, I stepped out. I could now create a portal.
"At least, that shouldn't stop us from hitching a ride in the same portal," she said behind me and I looked over my shoulder to face her, nodding.
I stretched out my hands and purple waves gathered in the air, whirling around to form a portal. Katherine walked up to my side and I nodded before walking into the portal. ***
Maldoria, Selene.
I wrapped my scarf around my face as the win struggled to blow it away. Most of my face was covered and my eyes barely had space to see.
I didn't want to get recognized and cause panic for coming to the most populated place in the Clan's territory.
I looked around me again before walking into a shop. I needed answers to a few questions and there was only one person I know that'll welcome my questions.
I walked up to the counter on the shop as I spotted the person I had come to see; Garner, my mother's half brother.
"Welcome. How may I help you?" Garner asked as I reached the counter. I looked around to make sure there was no customer watching and after confirming, I slightly opened my scarf so he could see my face.
He looked surprised to see me and he looked around before facing me again. I covered my face again and
I watched him briefly leave and come back.
"Follow me," he said and he walked away from the counter. I followed him into his office and he locked the door behind. I took off my scarf and took my seat on a chair.
"Selena, what are you doing here? If anyone sees you, it's going to cause a commotion," he said and he
also sat down on the chair before his desk.
"You sound like you're not happy to see me, don't worry, I'll leave soon" I stated and he shook his head.
"Of course not," he said, "What do you need?" He asked.
"It's about the Tribrid that was killed 9 months ago," I said and he looked surprised to hear me talk about that.
"Yes, there was a terrible prophecy concerning that baby and he needed to be killed early," Garner replied and I nodded.
"Yes, I just need to know how he was killed and who did it?" I asked and Garner stared at me inquisitively.
"Why the sudden curiosity about this issue? Is there anything I should know?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Research. That it's," I lied. The ancestors' instruction was to do this alone.
"Okay. The child and the mother were killed by the mother's uncle. He understood the importance of ending that baby despite the fact that they were his family," Garner said and I nodded.
Interesting. Killed by family.
"I heard he's a proffessor at the Sentient Academy in South Maldoria," Garner continued and I nodded.
The ancestors believed that the Tribrid was still alive and funny enough, the baby was said to have been killed by his own family.
I could smell the foul play here and I need to get to the root of this.
I stood up and smiled.
"Thank you, I'll leave now," I said and he nodded, smiling. I wrapped my scarf around my face again and walked out of his office.
I need to pay that proffessor a visit.
