Selena.
I stepped out of the portal and I blinked back the tears at the corners of my eyes.
Damn portal memories.
I had opened the portal directly to South Maldoria in the street where the Academy was. Now I had to find the man that Garner said supposedly killed the Tribrid. The Proffessor.
I looked up to see a man attempting to the portal and I immediately thought I should ask him if he knew the man I was looking for.
"Hello," I greeted and walked closer towards me. He dropped his hands and the purple waves of the portal forming faded away.
"Hi, how may I help you?" He asked, sounding impatiently and he looked at his wristwatch. Maybe he had something he was in haste to quickly attend to.
"Sorry if I disturbed you, I'm just looking for someone," I stated and he sighed, looking at me inquringly. Oh,
I didn't stated who it was that I'm looking for.
"I'm looking for a man named Garr," I stated and I could ha e sworn that I saw surprise flash in his eyes for a split second.
"I heard he teaches in the Academy, do you know where I can find him?" I asked again and he gulped. I could feel the nervous energy coming of him. That wasn't the only thing I could feel, I could feel the loneliness in him. I could also feel his power. It was something close to that of a Master Mage.
Something that came with the power of my curse.
If he was powerful, surely he would know someone like the Proffessor. He seemed to be thinking about something for a while and I wondered what it was that could have gotten him thinking.
"Oh, Proffessor Garr," he said and he smiled. I felt the negative energy in his voice and I got curious. He had come off as suspicious from the start.
I stared at him, waiting for what he would say would say while my mind worked it's magic, slowly finding ways into his mind without his magic detecting any infiltration.
"Yes, he taught in the Academy once, but he moved to earth two months ago," He said and I immediately saw in his mind that he lied. I hid my awareness about that by faking a disappointed expression.
He lied so he was definitely hiding something. I just need to know what he's hiding. I was still at the surface of his mind, so I cautiously went deeper as I stared, pretending to be all focused here.
"Oh, I didn't know that," I said and he nodded.
"Yes, he was a proffessor at the academy, but he suddenly quit and went to earth," he stated and I felt that was another lie. I simply nodded and continued my mind infiltration.
I suddenly stopped as I read something off his mind. It was his identity. He's the one I'm looking for and he doesn't want me to know.
He's Garr. I pretended not to know anything since I can't do anything with so many people in the restaurant and few people passing by. At least, not without prior preparation.
I smiled bleakly to show my disappointment.
"Okay, thanks. I guess I have a long journey to plan then," I said and waved at me, turning around to go. I walked a bit away from me and I could feel the heat of his gaze on me so I just kept walking.
He was probably so curious about why I was looking for him and he must be a careful one by making such a move.
I stretched out my hands to create a portal and as I did, I felt a magical spike in the air. He was creating a portal. I closed my eyes and felt my magic travel across the air, infecting the magic of the portal.
I just hexed him and it was insurance to be able to track him down.
I opened my eyes and walked into the portal. A few seconds later, the same portal appeared and I was still standing in the street.
I didn't go anywhere, I just wanted to pretend as if I had left this place so he'll take his mind off the fact that someone was searching for him.
I tapped into the hex I put on him and I could feel where he was. I stretched out my hands to create a portal linked to his location.
The portal fully formed and I sighed, stepping into it.
*
"Go now!" I said since I was now safe and Jackson nodded, turning around to go.
That instant, I began to feel an energy build on me and I screamed as my body shook. Fire, ice and lightning spells fired out of my body in random directions and I could feel the magic in my veins threaten to burst out.
I watched Jackson who was some metres away as he stretched out his hands and kept on trying to create a portal.
The waves would whirl and then disappear and it kept on happening. My magic was disrupting the portal.
"Just run!" I shouted as I did everything I could to suppress the magic build up in my body.
Jackson dropped his hands and immediately began to run while I screamed in pain as I felt the energy choking on my neck.
I felt my heart began to trob and then I knew it would happen. Immediately, I felt the energy in me burst out in scarlet blasts that scattered across the vast land like a fire storm.
An insanely loud boom ripped through the air and I felt the earth shake beneath me as I shed every bit of magic in me.
I gasped as it finally stopped and my veins that were glowing beneath my skin in a scarlet color slowly returned to their normal color.
I looked up and gasped, covering my mouth as I spotted the horror that I had done.
I could see familiar clothes lying on the floor, shredded. I gasped and I became a bolt of lightning, flashing there and rematerializing.
It was the clothes Jackson just had on. They were shredded and Jackson's body was nowhere to be found.
All I could see was thr blood on the floor. His blood.
Oh No! I felt my heart pound in my chest. What did I do??
The magic must have dissolved his flesh and bones.
I killed Jackson! I turned my Bethrothed to dust!!
