Selena.
I stepped out of the portal and I heard it close behind me. I was now in a building. A large one.
I guessed that this would be the Academy's main building and I knew that Garr would be going to his office.
I immediately felt within me that the effects of the hex had already started. I have to get to his office right now and luckily, I got that little information from his mind earlier.
I suddenly became a bolt of lightning and I flashed through the building, rematerializing before the door to
Garr's office.
I looked at the door as I sensed the protection lock on it. Only approved people could open the door. No lock or scan.
I placed my hand on the door and closed my eyes as I tried the only idea I had to break a protection lock like this. It's possible it would give way if I overwhelmed it with Magic.
I channelled all the magic in me to my hands and released everything into the door in one swift force. As I expected, I felt the magical lock temporarily give way and I quickly opened the door, walking into the office. I
looked around the office as I waited for Garr to arrive. I could sense him making his way here.
There was a shelf at one corner of the office and it contained lots of magical books, including Grimoires and magical cook books. There were also some herbs there.
I sensed Garr close by and I quickly hid at the other side of the room as I guessed the first place he would go to is the shelf so he can use herbs to relieve the pain.
I watched as the door opened and Garr walked in, panting and groaning. He closed the door and walked towards the shelf as I expected with his heart racing.
I stretched out my hands and chanted, "Vustrus nsolww." I watched as he stopped moving immediately and he slowly fell to the ground unconsciously.
I sighed and went to sit down at his desk. I leaned into the chair, pushing my hair backward.
I hated that I had to do any of this. I really did.
I stood up again and walked to Garr's body that was lying unconsciously on the floor. I would just take the information I need of him, but I needed him to be awake first so I don't damage his mind.
If I have to wait till he wakes up, I have to get him out of here before someone comes in search of him.
I stretched out my hands and scarlet waves gathered in the air, whirling around in circles to form a portal.
As the portal fully formed, I bent down and grabbed Garr by the hand, grunting as I pulled him into the portal.
*
Another portal opened and I saw a familiar woman run out of it.
Jackson's mother.
"Jackson, Jackson," she said with fear in her tone and she looked around in disorientation.
She finally stopped looking around and she stared at me before her eyes darted to the shredded piece of
Jackson's cloth I was holding.
"Where's Jackson? What happened to my son?!" She screamed and I could hear her heart rising and
falling in her chest.
I sniffed as the tears kept rolling down my eyes. I couldn't contain the pain and guilt I was feeling.
"I'm.......s....... sorry," I said with my voice breaking and I sniffed.
"What? What happened to him?!" She shouted and tried to move close to me, but my dad pushed her back.
"He's......g.....gone. Jackson's dead." I said and immediately, I saw the woman stagger backward in shock before falling unconscious.
I killed Jackson and I would never forgive myself for it.
My father grabbed my hand and he pulled me up to the floor.
"Selena, we need to go now," He said as I cried. I looked at Jackson's mother who had fainted and collapsed to the floor.
She never liked me before and now she was going to hate me so much.
"Carry her, let's go," my dad said and one of the Mages stepped forward, carrying Jackson's mother up.
"Selena , let's go," My dad said and I nodded slowly following him behind and walking into the portal.
At the other side of the portal, I stepped out into the Trinity House. The house where the Master of the
Coven, their families, and other top Mages live.
"Take her to the healer," My dad instructed the wizard carrying Jackson's mother and he nodded.
Everyone soon went off in different ways and I was left with my father.
"He was trying to protect me and I killed him," I sobbed, sniffing and wishing I could just turn back time and prevent all of it from happening.
"Selena, don't cry. At least it didn't happen when you were around so many people," My dad said and I suddenly flared up.
"I don't care about others. I lost the only man who loved me, my Bethrothed!" I yelled.
"Selena. I'm right here and I love you," he said and I shook my head.
"Don't you lie to me. Ever since you found out what mom did, you never looked at me the same way again!"
I yelled and my dad looked stunned.
"That's not fair," he said and he sounded hurt.
"I should have forced him to go when I had the chance," I said, breaking out in tears again.
"I shouldn't have waited till he had to feel the need to protect me and our babies," I sniffed and My dad placed his hand on my shoulder, making me to face him.
"Babies?" He asked and his eyes slowly travelled to my stomach.
"Selena, are you pregnant?" He asked, looking at me curiously and I sniffed.
"Yes."
