Chapter 169

  Jordan.

I sighed and bent down to the Vampire. I put my hand into his pocket and found a phone. I took it out and switched it on.

I grabbed his hand and forcefully tried his fingers on the fingerprint lock. His right index finger worked and I stood up straight as the phone got unlocked.

"What are you hiding?" I muttered asI went through the phone. I went to his call logs.

I saw that he has called someone and spoken to the person for a brief 30 seconds. Sounds suspicious.

I sighed as I hesitated before finally dialing the number.

"Lycian, be ready to read his mind at any moment," I thought, opening my mind to Lycian.

  Lucian faced me and nodded.

The phone rang for a while before someone finally picked it up and I showed the Vampire the phone.

"Hello," A rough male voice echoed out of the phone and the Vampire glanced at me, his lips quivering.

"Jer?" The voice asked. "Jeremiah, are you there?" The voice asked and the Vampire looked confused about what he should do.

His name is Jeremiah. Never known or met someone with that name in my life, but that's a start.

"Jeremiah, were you able to bind the Reaper as I asked?" The voice asked and my eyes widened in surprise.

Reaper. Bind. What the actual fuck.

I didn't say anything yet as I wanted the man to continue talking.

"Jer, are you fucking kidding with me right now?" The man said, this time sounding angry at the silence.

"Don't tell me you messed up, you have to do this so we........" I listened carefully as he was about to say something about a purpose, but Jeremiah immediately shouted.

"Nathaniel, no!! They have me captured, come rescue me!" Jeremiah shouted preventing Nathaniel from saying whatever he wanted to.

"What??" Nathaniel sounded surprised and I sighed cutting the call.

"I got what they want?" Lycian said and I faced him.

  "What?" Jeremiah scoffed in disbelief.

"When he was about to say it, you thought about it for a second and I got the information," Lycian said and Jeremiah sighed.

"What's it?" I asked Lycian curiously.

"Apparently, the both of them have a huge grudge against Reapers and they want to permanently destroy your Reaper side," Lycian said and my eyes widened in shock, my mouth hanging open.

"De....destroy.....my Reaper side??" I stuttered in surprise, "what the hell did I do to you. Don't tell me someone from the Speranzini Syndicate managed to escape!" I yelled and rested my palms on my waist in anger.

"I don't know anything about the Speranzini Syndicate," Jeremiah said and I looked at him. He looked innocent, but of course, he could very well be acting like before.

"The only ones who know what I am were the Speranzini's who I killed, and..........." I faced Jeremiah as a realization hit me.

"Sanctum." I muttered softly and faced Lycian.

"Do you think it could be someone from Sanctum?" Lycian asked, but I didn't know what to think.

It could be. They are the only one else who know what I am. It could be one of the officials with a grudge against Reapers, but throughout my time there, I didn't come across Jeremiah so I think he's probably a family to whoever that Nathaniel is.

"What Grudge do you have against Reapers?!" I asked Jeremiah anger.

"I don't have to answer to you. Just let me go already," Nathaniel replied and looked away, disregarding me.

I scoffed and moved towards him in anger.

"If you've ever come across Reapers, I'm sure you don't want me to switch to my full Repear consciousness and get the answer out of you!" I yelled, grabbing his chin and forcing him to look at my face that held anger and threat.

He gulped and I carelessly let go of his chin, his neck bent to the left and he grunted as he adjusted his neck.

"Fine! You want to know what the savages like you did?!" Jeremiah yelled.

"Six years ago, we were on a family vacation when two Reapers appeared out of nowhere and because they wanted power, we watched them absorb the life out of our sister, her husband, Nathaniel's Beloved, and our parents?!" Jeremiah yelled, spurting everything out in once breath. He sighed as he finished and there was hatred in his eyes.

I felt sorry for them, but why the hell are they coming after me for something I know nothing about.

"I don't care what happened to the two of you, but if you don't get off my back, you'll meet the same date!" I yelled at him, but he glared back at me in defiance.

They looked so determined, didn't they? But if they come for me again, I'm sure the Reaper would be happy to take over.

I reached into my pocket and took out a silver syringe.

"Concentrated Silver. This will surely knock you out for a day," I said and before he could move, I zoomed at him and stabbed him in the neck.

  I faced Lycian and nodded.

"Valerie, must be waiting for us, let's go," I said and Lycian nodded. The silver poisoning was to make sure he couldn't follow us and find out we are the at the pack, but using the concentrated one was just punishment.

When he wakes up, he'll be able to leave.

We walked out of the building and as we got to the gate, Lycian paused and took out his phone from his pocket.

"I need to send Stefan a message to have the lock replaced," he said and I nodded, walking to the car. I climbed in and waited for Lycian to send the message.

He finally also walked to the car and he climbed in, starting the car.

"I'll call Darell and ask him if there's anyone called Nathaniel and has a brother called Jeremiah."
