Chapter 170

  Valerie.

I walked out in store with the dress I just purchased and I walked to my car. I opened the door and climbed, putting the pack on the seat next to me.

I closed the door and took out my phone so I could try calling the number Jenna sent to me.

I dialed the number and waited as the phone rang.

"Hello. It's Jenna. I'm unavailable at the moment, please leave a message," Jenna's voice echoed out of the voicemail and I sighed in frustration.

I started the car and drove onto the road at steady speed. I picked up the phone again and redialed the number, but it went into voicemail a second time.

I continued driving and I'm unable to describe how I'm feeling about this. They knew I'd deliver in 8 months or so. They could have set the wedding to happen in the 9th month.

I never imagined that Jenna would ever get married without me having no part to take. I had always imagined myself being my maid of honor.

Speaking of which, who will be her maid of honor tomorrow. I tried to think of who it could be, but I had absolutely no idea.

I glanced at the phone again and hesitantly picked it up. I dialed the number again and this time, the call went through.

"Hello. Who is this?" I heard Jenna's voice echo out of the phone.

I gulped before holding the phone closer and talking.

"Jenna. Hi," I said and the line was silent for a while.

  "Valerie?" Jenna asked, sounding surprised.

"Yes, it's me," I replied and faced the road, drifting into a road on the right.

"Oh my God! Valerie you're awake?!" Jenna exclaimed and I could hear the excitement in her voice.

"Wait. You've given birth??" Jenna asked.

"Yes," I replied. I thought that someone would have informed her by now.

"Oh. I can't believe I missed it," she said.

"So, I heard you're getting married to Nathan tomorrow," I said and Jenna remained silent for a while.

  "Yes, actually....."

"Jenna! Do you think I should go with the blue or pink nails?" I heard a voice echo from the background.

The voice sounded familiar and I tried to remember who it was.

  "Is that......... Jasmine?" I asked.

"Yes, Jasmine is here. We're actually preparing for the wedding," Jenna replied and I nodded.

"Okay. See you tomorrow," I said.

"Bye." She said and I cut the call.

I dropped the phone on the seat next to me and I pulled the gear, zooming across the road at full speed.

Twenty minutes later, I arrived at the pack's territory and I looked at my phone again to check the time. It's one hour already so Jordan and Lycian should be here already or on their way. *** Garr.

  Maldoria.

"The patronum variance is added to the Moticus spell when you want to teleport to a destination you've never been to," I said and began to arrange the books on my desk.

"It is important in this case or one might end up teleporting to a random location which is dangerous. Even worse, one might get stuck in limbo," I said and looked up, smiling.

"That's all for today. Our next class will be all about practicals and demonstration." I smiled and grabbed my briefcase before walking out of the class.

I walked into an elevator and pressed a button for it to take me to the staff floor. I stood in the elevator and looked at my wristwatch to check the time. It was past noon already.

I leaned on the wall of the elevator and as the elevator hissed open, I stepped out of it.

I walked down the long corridor, heading towards my office.

"Proffessor Griffin!" I heard someone call my name down the hallway and I turned around to see who it was.

It was a senior student I was close to. He was brilliant and he had a lot of potential.

"Cedric." I smiled and looked at the book he was holding curiously.

"Did you finish working on the topic I gave you?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yes, I did," he said and I nodded.

"Actually, I was in the library looking for books for research and I found this book," Cedric said and he stretched the book out to me.

I looked at it curiously before taking it from him.

"It talks about blood channeling and sacrificial magic," He said and my eyes widened in surprise.

"I thought that something like this shouldn't be where every student can access it so I brought it to you," He said and I nodded. I glanced at the book and then looked at him inquiringly.

He understood what I wanted to ask and he smiled, "I read just the first chapter and stopped when I realized what it was."

"Thank you," I smiled, "we normally don't put books like this in the general library, so this one must have been accidentally left there," I said and he nodded.

"Okay. I just wanted to give you that," he said and I nodded so he could go. I watched as he turned around and walked away. I looked at the book in my hand again and sighed.

It's dangerous for student's to have access to books like this. Curiosity would get the better of them and instead of the power they would expect, the magic would consume them and demand blood and lives from them.

We don't need a Voldemort in this Academy.

I opened my briefcase and put the book in it before closing it and walking to my office.

I stopped at the door and placed my hand on it. The door clicked open and I stepped into the office.

I closed the door and smiled as I saw Katherine sitting on my chair.

"I thought your class was never going to end."
