Chapter 175

  Katherine.

  South Maldoria.

We suddenly broke the case as the elevator dung and the doors opened. We stepped out and Garr held my hand in his, smiling. As we walked down the corridor, we suddenly stopped as we heard someone scream.

"What was that??" Garr asked and we both glanced at each other before running in the direction where the sound came from.

I saw a group of students standing around a girl on the floor and I moved closer. She was convulsing on the floor and her eyes had completely turned white.

I realized what it was immediately.

Magical Epilepy. I froze in place as memories flashed in my mind. I was unable to move or take my eyes off the girl.

"She's suffering from Magical Epilepsy, move aside!" Garr alerted and the students around moved away.

"We have to get her to the clinic or she might burn up from the inside," Garr said and faced me. I blinked, becoming aware and I nodded. He bent down and grabbed the girl's hand. His hand glowed and the girl stopped convulsing.

He looked up and nodded, "that was temporary. She needs to be attended to at the clinic," he said and he carried the girl up in his hand.

I stretched out my hands and violet waves flowed out of them, whirling around in the air to form a portal. As the portal fully formed, Garr walked in with the girl in his hand and I walked in after them.

I looked up from where I sat as Garr walked towards me.

"She's already been stabilized," Garr said and I smiled. Seeing that girl convulse really brought back sad memories to my mind.

It made me remember my sister who had the same illness. Our parents left the house to do something and I was supposed to be with Kyra.

We always made sure someone was with her Incase someone like this happened to her, but that day, I quickly left the house to prove a classmate wrong and show that I can live my own life and party.

I came back home that day to see the most horrible thing in my life.

Kyra was lying on the floor, her eyes white in color and her grey body incinerated from the inside.

I never forgave myself since that day. I always blamed myself for what happened to Kyra. If I had been there that day, I would have used the spell our parents taught me to temporarily stabilise her and then find someone to help me take her to a clinic or an healer.

She would still be alive if I had not done tried to prove anything that day.

"Katherine, it's okay," Garr said and he sat down next to me. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it lightly, and I breathed, calming down.

"Thank you," I said and Garr smiled. He stood up and pointed at the door.

"I'll be right back, I need to grab her report so the Academy can decide whether to transfer her to the special school," Garr said and I nodded, watching him leave.

"I called her uncle, he's on his way up," I heard a nurse say to another one as they walked past me.

I sat down and sighed as I waited for Garr to return. I looked up as I saw someone stop before me.

I looked at the man and he greeted with a slight nod.

"Hello, I'm Nita's father," He said and I stood up. That moment, I felt the strange, but exciting feeling within me that I thought I would never feel.

Oh God!! This can't be. I gulped and looked at the man smiling at me.

"I'm Michael. I just wanted to thank you for helping my daughter," he said and I stood there nervously.

He was my Betrothed. I could feel it. That moment, a lot of things ran through my mind. What would happen now?? What about Garr??

I became so nervous that I didn't reply anything he said.

"Katherine," I heard Garr call me from behind and I looked around to see him walk in. I quickly walked to him and stood beside him.

He looked at me inquisitively and then faced Michael with his eyebrows raised.

"How can I help you?" Garr asked and Michael glanced between the both of us before smiling.

"Yes, I'm Michael. I'm Nita's uncle," Michael introduced himself to Garr and I watched him talk.

He looked like he came from East Maldoria and he also had the charming accent.

I was so confused and my mind was like a devastated sea in the middle of the storm not knowing where to go.

I didn't think I'd meet my Betrothed. I'm a Lothaire Witch and my bloodline has a long history of never having Betrotheds. My parents fell in love with each other like normal couples did, and so did my grandparents, and my great grandparents.

Why did things have to change during my own turn and especially when I've already fallen in love with someone.

"Oh. Nita has been stabilised already so there's no need to be worried," Garr said and Michael nodded.

  "Thanks."

"What about Nita's parents?" Garr asked.

"Her parents are dead. I'm the only family she has," he replied and I felt pity for the girl.

"Oh. So, does Nita frequently have these convulsions at home?" Garr asked.

"Ummm. I'm usually not at home. I'm an accountant and I'm always busy so that's why I sent her to a boarding school," Michael said. He briefly glanced at me and I looked away.

I should never have come here today. I knew all I was doing was only a pretence and I was lying to myself. No matter what love I felt for Garr before, I could feel one far greater towards Michael who I had just met.

I really don't know what I am supposed to do or how I would tell Garr.
