Chapter 178

  Garr

  Maldoria

I walked down the long corridor, heading towards my office.

"Proffessor Griffin!" I heard someone call my name down the hallway and I turned around to see who it was.

It was a senior student I was close to. He was brilliant and he had a lot of potential.

"Cedric." I smiled and looked at the book he was holding curiously.

"Did you finish working on the topic I gave you?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yes, I did," he said and I nodded.

"Actually, I was in the library looking for books for research and I found this book," Cedric said and he stretched the book out to me.

I looked at it curiously before taking it from him.

"It talks about blood channeling and sacrificial magic," He said and my eyes widened in surprise.

"I thought that something like this shouldn't be where every student can access it so I brought it to you," He said and I nodded. I glanced at the book and then looked at him inquiringly.

He understood what I wanted to ask and he smiled, "I read just the first chapter and stopped when I realized what it was."

"Thank you," I smiled, "we normally don't put books like this in the general library, so this one must have been accidentally left there," I said and he nodded.

"Okay. I just wanted to give you that," he said and I nodded so he could go. I watched as he turned around and walked away. I looked at the book in my hand again and sighed.

It's dangerous for student's to have access to books like this. Curiosity would get the better of them and instead of the power they would expect, the magic would consume them and demand blood and lives from them.

We don't need a Voldemort in this Academy.

I opened my briefcase and put the book in it before closing it and walking to my office.

I stopped at the door and placed my hand on it. The door clicked open and I stepped into the office.

I closed the door and smiled as I saw Katherine sitting on my chair.

"I thought your class was never going to end," Katherine said and I smiled, walking forward and dropping my briefcase on the desk.

"There's a lot to cover up because of the exams coming," I said and Katherine nodded.

"So, this morning, I visited the admin about the leave," I said and Katherine nodded.

"Well, they agreed and my leave starts in 2 days," I said and I expected Katherine to look excited, but she nodded and smiled bleakly.

Katherine recently got her leave and we decided that I should try to apply for my leave now so we can both go on a vacation in Vardasia.

I ignored it and assumed that she was just tired. I tried to take off my jacket, and struggled with it so Katherine stood up and walked forward to come help. She went to my back and helped me pull the sleeves out.

I sighed as she took it off and I turned around to face her. I took the jacket from her and threw it on a couch.

"I'll start preparing so that we can leave for Vardasia first thing on Monday," I said with a smile and she smiled.

I moved closer to her and leaned in to kiss her. My lips were about to touch hers, but she suddenly bent her head away.

I looked at her in surprise and she looked at me apologetically.

  What was it?

"Garr, there's something I need to tell you," Katherine said and I looked at her curiously.

"Katherine, what's it?" I asked and she breathed in deep.

"You're probably going to have to seat down for this," she said and that got me even more curious to know what it is.

I nodded and walked to the couch next to me, sitting on it.

She remained standing where she was and I looked sideways to face her.

"Garr, do you remember the accountant we met at the clinic yesterday?" Katherine asked and I tried to remember those we met at the clinic yesterday.

"Yes. Michael," I replied nodding, "what is it?" I asked.

Katherine remained silent for a while and she sighed, "Garr, I really don't know how to tell you this," She said and I shook my head, curious and feeling slightly scared already.

"What is it Katherine?" I asked and she looked at me with her eyes filled with guilt.

  "Garr, Michael is my Bethrothed."

I blinked as I stepped out of the portal, gasping. I was still weak from the hex so the portal was unstable. I looked around and saw that I was in the territory of the Moon Edge Pack. I was standing before the building of the main pack mansion.

I walked up to the door and opened it, walking in. I need to find Kaden quickly and find out if Karen has given birth.

That witch left before me, but because she hasn't been here before, getting the location off my memory won't be enough and she'll still be tracing this place with her magic.

I walked down the empty corridor trying to remember where Kaden's room was. I looked up and saw someone approaching.

He stopped as he spotted me and he stared at me.

"I remember you," he said and I sighed in relief. I didn't need a confrontation now as I need to get Karen out of here before that Witch arrives.

"Yes, I'm a friend of your Alpha. Do you know where he is?" I asked.

"Yes, he left for Lucas' wedding," he replied and I tapped my foot against the floor. If he was not here, what about Karen, had she woken up.

The members of the pack weren't informed about that plan. They all thought Karen left for a business trip.

"Okay, do you know if Karen is back?" I asked.

"Yes, she came back two days ago. They all went to the wedding," He replied and I sighed.

Great. The Witch doesn't know where they are now so I have to get to them and get us to a safe place.

  "Do you know the venue?"

  "Yes." He nodded.

"Okay. Hang on," I moved closer to him and before he could react, I placed my hands on his head. The venue's location flashed through my head as I did.

He suddenly pushed my hand away and stared at me angrily.

  "Dude, what was that?"

"Sorry, I just read your mind. You can go," I said and he shook his head in annoyance, staring at me for a while and walking away.

Okay. I need to portal myself to the wedding now.

I stretched out my hands to create a portal, but I slowly lowered my hand as I saw scarlet waves whirling in the air to form a portal.

  Shit! She's here.
