Chapter 185

  Jordan.

I watched as Garr and The Witch kept attacking themselves and there was nothing I could do.

"Celeste," Karen chanted and I watched as an invisible force flung the Witch into the air. Before The Witch could react or do anything, Karen chanted again, "Scintilla."

A golden flash of lightning fired out of Karen's hand and hit her in the chest. The force threw the Witch against the wall and the bricks of the wall broke out.

It was still shocking to me to see Karen use Magic. I've seen a lot of Magicians, but gold was rare. I heard the color signified magic signature and how powerful they were.

The most powerful Mages always had White, Golden or Scarlet magic like the Witch attacking us.

"Great!" Garr yelled, looking at Karen.

"Celeste Pressarai. Hold her up," Garr said.

The Witch had fallen on the floor and she was about to stand up.

"Celeste Pressarai," Karen chanted as Garr had said and I watched as the Witch was lifted up again and smacked against the wall. She was unable to move or talk as the spell Karen had just cast caused an unseen force to hold her in place. Garr quickly moved forward and he began to rotate his palms in the air.

Purple waves followed the movement of his palms, whirling around in circles in the air. The waves grew bigger and bigger and they whirled towards the end of the hall where the Witch was being held up.

"Celeste Oblicus." Garr chanted and the whirling portal sucked the Witch into it before disappearing.

I sighed as the Witch disappeared and I looked around. The hall was in a mess and the wedding had been ruined. I turned around to face Lucas and Stella who were standing at the altar. Stella was leaning on Lucas' shoulder.

Lucas' eyes met mine and he nodded. I nodded back before looking away as I saw a large portal open outside the hall.

  What was that again.

I sighed in relief as I saw Sanctum officials step out of the portal. They must have heard everything that happened here.

"Let's go," Kaden said and we all walked outside of to meet them. My eyes met Darell who was dressed in his Sanctum robe he nodded at me in acknowledgment.

I nodded back, wondering who will go to speak on our behalf.

"I'll talk to them," Kaden said and walked past me.

Karen walked up to my side and stared at them curiously. Oh, she was still unconscious when they were formed.

"Who are they?" Karen asked like I expected.

"Sanctum. Someone must have reported what was going on here," I replied.

"The ones you went on a mission with?"

  "Yes."

"I can sense they are mostly supernaturals. Hopefully they won't be anything like Nexus Services," she said and I nodded.

She walked away and went to sit on a chair at the other end.

"Did you speak to Darell about those brothers who want your Reaper side locked away?" I heard Lycian's voice behind me as he walked up to me.

"I did. He said he'll look into it," I replied and wrapped my hand around his shoulder.

"I'm just scared that they'll make a surprise attack and do something bad cause Jeremiah sounded really bitter," Lycian said with worry in his tone and I shook my head.

  "It'll be fine," I assured.

I looked sideways as I saw Karen and Garr walk towards us.

"Jordan, I need your help," Karen said and Garr showed me a sigil formed with his flesh on his wrists. Part of the flesh was red and it was beginning to rot.

"Damn! That looks ugly," I said. I grabbed his arm and sighed as I began to siphon the magic out of the hex. As I did, I felt the energy of the magic go into my body and I felt somehow strange.

The magic felt cold and infectious. I let go of his magic as I began to feel Garr's magic and the hex was gone. I felt a chilly feeling in my head and a strange darkness pull, but I shook it off.

Kaden soon walked towards us as he finished talking with the Sanctum officials.

"So, are we free to go?" Karen asked.

"Yes, they interrogated some of the humans guests present at the hall too and we're clear."

"They are going to track down the Witch after this," Kaden explained.

"What about the guests who saw everything?" Karen asked.

"I spoke to Darell and he said he'll take care of it. They'll remember what happened, but won't remember the part where we used our powers," Kaden replied.

"Okay, let's go back now," Karen said and we began to walk towards the car.

"I'm coming, I need to talk to Darell quickly." I stopped walking and faced them.

"Okay, I'll go and get Lucas and Stella," Kaden said and I nodded before walking towards Darell.

As I got to Darell, I signalled and he walked closer to me.

"I wanted to ask you about the brothers I reported," I said and he nodded.

"Yes, I went through the database of Sanctum Officials, but there's no single person by the name Nathaniel," Darell replied to my disappointment.

How then do they know what I am.

"Okay, thank you," I said and I was about to walk away, but he called me back.

  "Wait."

I faced him again and he reached into his robe, pulling out an envelope and stretching it out to me.

"I wanted to give you this," he said and I looked at the envelope curiously before collecting it from him.

"I want you to think about it," Darell said before walking away. I looked up to see a Sanctum official staring at me and our eyes met before he looked away and walked towards their portal.

I looked at the envelope in my hand and shrugged before walking to the cars and climbing into one of them.

"What's that?" Karen asked, looking over her shoulder from the front seat.

I shrugged and opened up the envelope, pulling out a letter from it.

I hurriedly read through the letter, shocked by what was written in it.

  "What is it?" Lycian asked.

"It's an invitation to join Sanctum," I replied and they all also looked surprised.

"Are you going to accept it?" Karen asked. I stared at the letter for while before glancing at Lycian and smiling.

  "Nope."
