Chapter 199

  Karen.

The Witch suddenly grabbed Jordan's hand and she placed it on the door.

"Siphonora." She chanted and I saw Jordan's hand glow in a faint red color. Shit! She was making him siphon the magic away from the protection spell.

His hands stopped glowing and she snapped her fingers in his face, an invisible force flinging him away and dropping him next to Garr.

She glanced at me before kicking the door and I watched it fling open. My bones were already healing, but I was still weak. I grunted a I crawled towards my room and I watched her grab Draco from the crib.

"No, leave him!" I shouted, and struggled to get on my feet. I looked sideways as I saw Lycian and Lucas walk into the corridor. They looked shocked to see Garr and Jordan on the floor.

"Draco!" I croaked out and pointed inside my room. The two of them quickly ran closer and went into my room.

The Witch dropped Draco on my bed and her palms began to glow.

"Ancendia" She chanted and scarlet waves burst out from her body, breaking the walls of the room she was standing away and flinging all of us away. I cried as I felt my back bones again and she went to pick Draco up again.

I tried to zoom towards her, but she pushed me back with a gust of wind, slamming me against the opposite wall.

I grunted as I struggled to get on my feet again, but she stretched out her hands and a portal formed in the air.

"No!" I limped forward to stop her, but she walked into the portal and it closed up before I could reach her.

I looked at the entrance door as it opened and Kaden, Raphael and Roderigo walked in.

They looked around in shock of how the place looked and I burst into tears. Kaden looked at me and he ran forward.

"Karen?" He held my face as I cried..

"Draco. She took him." I burst into tears again and he pulled me into a tight hug.

"We're going to find him." He whispered, slowly patting my back.

We broke the hug and I watched Raphael and Roderigo helped Garr, Lucas, Jordan, and Lycian up.

"Let's get away from here," Kaden said and pulled me gently away from all of the rubble.

No! I can't let that witch hurt Draco. I can't.

  ***

I sat on the bed in Kaden's room. Kaden's hands were rested on his waist and he was pacing up and down the room. I could see him trying his best to hide his anger and the pain he felt.

The door of his room was wide open. I sniffed and looked up as I saw Jordan and Lycian walk into the room.

"Garr said he can track down where the Witch took Draco," Jordan said and I immediately stood up from the bed where I sat.

Kaden also stopped moving and he faced them.

"Really?" I asked and he nodded in affirmation.

I immediately walked after them back to the rubbles in front of what was once my room.

Garr was standing there and he faced us and he saw us approaching.

"Can you really track down where they went??" I asked and he nodded.

"Yes, it's going to be nearly impossible to kill Draco even with the help of the ancestors so we might be able to stop her on time," Garr replied.

"I can connect to her magical signature that's still present here," he added and sighed. His hands began to glow in a bright purple color and he closed his eyes. Purple waves flowed out of his hands, but just as they began to whirl, they faded out.

Garr opened his eyes and shook his head.

"She's blocking me," he said and I sighed in frustration. We all remained silent for w while and Garr stared into the air before suddenly facing me with his expression looking like he had gotten an idea.

"But I can break her defenses with her own magic," he said and I stared at him in confusion. Her own magic? How was he going to get her own magic??

He faced Jordan and I began to get an idea of what he wanted to do.

"I'm going to channel the magic Jordan absorbed from the hex," he said, confirming what I had suspected.

"He absorbed several layers of persistent magic, so it would be enough to do this," Garr said and I nodded.

Jordan walked closer to him and nodded. Garr grabbed Jordan's hand with his left hand and he stretched his other hand out, closing his eyes.

I watched as purple waves flowed out of Garr's hand and whirled around slowly. As the portal formed, the waves began to fade in and out and I feared that the portal might close up again.

The waves finally stopped fading and the portal grew into a full portal.

Garr finally dropped his hand and he faced me, nodding.

If I have to fight Witch to death to protect Draco, I will.

Kaden walked up to me and he placed his hand on my shoulder before walking with me into the portal.

  ***

I suddenly felt the entire building shake and I glanced at Kaden looking alarmed.

"What was that?" I asked as everything calmed.

My hands swung in the air as I tried to maintain balance with the building shaking again.

"Karen, are you okay?" Kaden asked in concern as the building became still again. I nodded in affirmation and we both immediately ran out of the room.

We saw Lycian and Jordan approaching from up the corridor and they ran towards us.

"We were training when we felt the tremor," Jordan said, and he was panting and sweating.

I grabbed onto the door knob of the room next to me as the building shook again. This time, it was longer and the door knob I was grabbing onto broke off, causing me to slip and crash onto the opposite wall.

The building stood still and I groaned as I rubbed the back of my head.

"Karen!" Kaden rushed towards me after regaining balance and he quickly helped me up with concern in his eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asked and I rubbed the back of my head again before nodding.

  "Yes."

All the doors in the corridor opened and everyone stepped out of the rooms.

"What's happening?" Lucas asked and Stella followed him behind. It was most definitely Magicians again. Ow. My head hurts so bad.

Before anyone could answer that question, the door opened and Albert stepped in, looking alarmed. He closed the door again before walking towards us.

  "Albert what's happening?" Lycian asked.

"There are about a dozen Mages standing outside and they are firing blasts at the building," Albert replied, confirming what I had suspected.

"They said they won't stop until we hand them the Hybrid," he continued and glanced at me. I crossed my arms over my shoulder, feeling bad.

Everything was always about me and I kept putting the people around me in danger. First, I brought the Rippers and Nexus Soldiers to the Moon Edge pack and now I had brought Mages to this island.

"They threatened to start attacking in ten minutes if we don't do what they want," he added.

"We have to get Karen out of here," Garr said and I faced him. I couldn't leave here and let them attack everyone here.

"There's no need to worry, they won't attack if they can't find Karen here," Garr said, erasing the guilty thought from my mind.

"I can portal you out of here quickly, just let me know where you want to go," he stated and I glanced at Kaden.

"Nexus Services is out of the way so we can go back to the pack," Lucas suggested and Kaden nodded in approval.

"Okay," Garr said and he suddenly touched my head. I felt him reach into my memories and I gasped as he took his hands off.

"I needed to know the exact location," he said and stretched out his hands, a portal beginning to form in the air.

As the portal fully formed, I glanced at Jordan and he walked closer.

"I can't follow you now, I need to stay here and see that things are well, but I'll find my way to the pack when everything is done," He said and I nodded reluctantly.

"You need to go now," Garr said and I walked into the portal, with Kaden, Lucas, and Stella following behind as we walked into the portal.
