CHAPTER 221

  Stella.

  Three Years From Now.

I pressed the horn of my car as I stopped the car before the gate of the mansion.

"Alright. Have those new products released for testing and deliver the products ordered by Beautiverse," I said and looked up as the gate of the mansion slowly opened up.

I slowly drove in and brought the car to a halt as I parked in front of the building.

"Yes, have all of the details sent to my mail this evening," I said before ending the call. I picked up my handbag on the other seat and I dropped my phone and car key into it.

I opened the door and climbed down from the car, looking up as the gate man walked towards me.

"Good evening Ma'am," he greeted and I nodded.

"Evening. Is my husband home already?" I asked and he shook his head.

  "No."

"Alright," I nodded and climbed up the front porch, walking into the house. I sighed and twisted my neck to both sides, dropping my handbag on the couch.

I bent down and took off my heels, pushing it aside.

I heard my phone buzz in my bag and I bent down, reaching into my bag and pulling out my phone.

I reached into my bag and looked at the screen to see a message notification.

I clicked on it and saw that it was a message from Karen.

Karen; Stella, where are you now?

My eyebrows etched in confusion. Why was she asking.

Stella; Why? I'm at my house

Karen: Okay, are you with Lucas and your daughter?

Why was she asking these questions all of a sudden? I glanced up the stairs before looking at my phone again.

Stella: Lucas is not at home, but he'll be home anytime soon

  Karen: Alright. Gotta run.

My forehead etched again and I shrugged before dropping my phone in my handbag, picking it up and walking to the stair

I walked up the stairs and stopped before a room. I knocked on the door and soon, it was opened by Nanny Vera.

"Good evening ma'am," She greeted with a smile and she opened the door wider for me to come in.

"Melissa is asleep already," Nanny Vera said as I smiled as I looked at my daughter sleeping on the bed in the room.

"Has she done her homework?" I asked and Nanny Vera affirmed with a nod.

  "Yes."

"Alright. I'll take her to her room, you can go home," I said and walked closer to Melissa's bed.

Nanny Vera nodded and she picked up her handbag on a table before walking out of the room. I dropped my handbag at the edge of the bed and I leaned closer to Melissa, picking up her notebook and dropping it on the table next to the bed.

I heard the loud horn of a car and I walked towards the window, pulling the curtains aside and looking at Lucas' car outside of the compound.

I pulled the curtains back and I walked back to Melissa's bed.

I wrapped my hand around her and I lifted her up before walking out of the room. I closed the door and as I got to the stairs, I saw Lucas climbing up the stairs, dressed in a black suit and carrying a black suitcase.

He dropped the briefcase in his hand on the top of the wooden edge of the stairs and he reached out to take Melissa from me.

As I handed him Melissa, he continued walking to Melissa's room and I picked up his briefcase where he placed it, walking after him.

I quickly walked forward and helped him to open the door, walking in. Lucas walked in too and he gently dropped Melissa on the bed, adjusting her pillow.

He stood up straight with a sigh and he rested his palms on his waist.

"How was your day?" I asked and Lucas faced me, smiling lightly.

"You know, like every other day," Lucas replied and I nodded and then he looked like he had something he wanted to say.

"But I had a visitor at the office today," Lucas said and I raised my eyebrows a bit, curious about who it could be.

"It was Alpha Dylan from the Crescent Pack, I was surprised when he came to see me atthr office himself," Lucas said and I walked back a bit, sitting at the edge of the bed.

"What did he want?" I asked and I saw Lucas hesitate for a bit.

"He came to invite us to join his pack," Lucas replied and I sighed.

"Well, I hope your answer was no because the reason we came here initially was to get as far away as possible from the supernatural world," I said and Lucas sighed, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning on the wall.

"We did this so that we wouldn't get involved in any problem and so that we can keep ourselves and our daughter safe," I added, hoping that would manage to convince Lucas not to bother himself about the invite.

"Stella, I don't think there's any harm in accepting the invite," Lucas said and I sighed again, standing up on my feet.

"There's always an harm in the Supernatural community! Even if we don't face god like enemies like before, there'll always be Rogues, or Vampire attacks, or....or..... there'll always be a danger to face!" I yelled and quickly lowered my voice as I noticed Melissa change her position on the bed so I would not wake her up.

"But a pack is not just a place for Werewolves to live! It's a community that'll also help Melissa when she finally starts noticing that she is different," Lucas retorted and I sighed.

"I really don't want to keep doing this," I said and I was about to continue talking when I suddenly had a strange feeling.

"Wait," I said and I touched my arm as I felt a chilly feeling on my skin.

  "Lucas, do you feel that?"
