CHAPTER 227

  Karen.

I was about to zoom again when a blast hit me in the abdomen and flung me away.

I landed on the floor with a groan and I looked up to see a witch stretch out her hands at me.

I grunted and tried to stand up from the ground before she could cast whatever spell she planned at me, but all of a sudden, a ray of light in the form of a rope wrapped around her neck and pulled her.

My eyes followed the direction of the pull and I watched as the witch got slammed into another Mage who also had a magical rope wrapped around his neck.

As the two of them collided into each other, they groaned and they fell to the ground as the ropes disappeared.

Kaden walked closer to me he stretched out his hand. I grab this and and he put me up to my feet.

The Mages who were still conscious kept reviving the other ones on my ice started around as I stood in a defensive position.

I noticed that the other Witch who was older also couldn't use her magic. Selena and Garr we're also practically useless at the moment. Of course Stella was human, Kaden and Lucas we are not fast enough, so it was just me, the Vampire and the blue haired Witch against all of this Mages.

My eyes darted around again and I clenched my fists even tighter.

I saw that the twelve Mages who came through the portal and the three who initially attacked us were all conscious.

They would keep reviving themselves if we knocked them out so the only solution to this was to kill them all.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can take do that and the blue haired Witch also doesn't look like she's a cold murderer. Even though she's been a cold bitch since she got here.

Speak of the devil. She stood in front of me and I rolled my eyes as she was blocking my view.

My hands darted to her hands as I could feel the magical intensity around them growing bigger and denser.

The bright blue glow around her arms gradually turned darker and darker and I moved backward, weary of the spell she wanted to cast.

I could feel that she was extremely powerful. Far powerful than any other Mage I've ever met and I thought the blue magical signature was lower in rank.

"Desterium." She chanted and I raised up my hand as massive dark blue waves burst out of her body. I slowly lowered my hands as I saw that I was still standing and I watched as the waves hit all of the Mages, knocking them unconscious.

Or we could just knock all of them out at the same time.

The magical energy around the blue haired Witch slowly lowered and I also felt my magic return to me.

"Why did you knock all of us out earlier when you could make it selective?" I asked and she faced me with a smirk.

"I felt like punishing the cause of all our troubles," She replied and I rolled my eyes.

"So what exactly is happening here?" Garr asked, walking forward and she faced him..

"I woke up to a Reality Paradox and we tracked the source to you," She explained and I glanced at Garr, to see if he had any explanation for that.

"We are from a different plane. We arrived on your world through a random portal," Garr explained and she rested her palms on her waist, looking around.

I saw that there were some Mages in the distance attacking the humans.

"We have to leave this place for now," the Vampire said and I nodded.

The blue haired Witch stretched out her hands and blue waves flowed out of her hands, whirling in the air to form a portal.

I felt somehow uncomfortable following strangers into a portal that I didn't know the destination, but I shook the thought off and I faced Kaden who was carrying Draco before walking into the portal with them.

  ***

I drove slowly into the forest and as I reached the border, two guards walked up to me and I came to a slow halt.

I whirled down the window and looked out. I had been gone for long, but sure Vampires lived long and had good memories.

  They still remembered me.

"Miss. Karen, we're glad to see you," One of them said with a smile and I returned the smile, regarding them with a nod.

"Thank you." I whirled the windows back down and drove into the Coven.

I kept glancing around as I drove observing the environment. It was more improved and it has gone through so many changes Since I soon reached my dad's house and as I pulled over by the door, the front door of the building opened.

Of course, they must have sensed me coming already metres away. I retrieved the keys from the car engine and opened the door by my side, climbing down.

I put the keys in the pocket of my jacket and looked up to see my father looking at me with a smile.

I returned the smile and walked towards him when the door opened again and someone else stepped out. It was Jordan.

The smile on my face disappeared immediately as I saw the indifferent look he gave me.

It's not my fault I wanted to live a normal life and moreover, it was already getting too dangerous as Vampires in the Coven kept disappearing.

"Karen, I'm so happy to see you," my father, Darius said with a smile and I nodded.

"I'm sorry I couldn't come to see you earlier," I apologized. Truly, I got carried away with my life, my job, and my friends that I hardly came to see him.

"Where's mom?" I asked and he nodded before gesturing towards the door.

"Jordan." I gave Jordan one last glance and nodded before walking into the building. Immediately I stepped in, I could sense my mom's presence and I followed it, walking directly to her room.

I slowly opened the door and stepped in. I looked at my mom lying down on the bed with her eyes closed and she didn't look good.

Her face was extremely pale and magical green energy occasionally sparked around her hair. I didn't know much about witches or magic, but she seemed like she had some serious magical illness.

I slowly walked towards her and as I got to her, I gently touched her hand.

I watch her eyelids a shake and she slowly opened her eyes. She looked at me but the pain she was feeling drained all the happiness in her eyes as her lips quivered.

"Karen," she muttered softly and I glanced at the door as Darius and Jordan walked in.

"Mom." I said and sniffed. I felt so heartbroken to see my mom in this condition.

"Karen, I'm so happy to see you," she continued in a weak voice I nodded, covering my mouth as I tried to control myself from crying.

  "Me too.".

"Karen,......" She started and she looked like she was in even more pain. She looked like she was struggling to talk.

"Karen....you...have..to find him-" she said and I became confused. Find who? What was she talking about.

"Ma....ma. Magnus... You have.... to find him," her voice came out in what sounded almost as a whisper.

Who was Magnus? What he the one that did this to her?

"Who is he?" I asked her.

"Karen.....you have to find him and .... you are a....." She looked like she was struggling to talk, "you are a.....a.."

Suddenly she froze and her hair stopped glowing. I saw the life leave her eyes and I cried, "No. No......no..."

I cried as I saw her eyes slowly close and I held her arm, shaking it, "Mom. No..no"
