CHAPTER 232

  Karen.

Another Icicle wheezed past me again and hit Garr at the back of his left leg. He groaned loudly again and he fell on his knees.

I stopped running immediately and I went to him bending down and pulling the icicle out of his leg, a loud cry leaving his mouth.

My hands glowed in a bright golden colour and I placed them on his leg as I cast a quick healing spell. I pulled him up to his feet again and the two of us continued running..

I looked over my shoulder so that none of them were even running after us.

Mor scoffed and he faced the lady standing beside him.

  "Nylah now!"

Immediately she stretched out her hands that were radiating a black glow.

I felt her magic going to fill the air and I continued running knowing that whatever spell she wanted to cast couldn't be good.

I looked at Garr and he kept trying to cast a spell to clear the Chamber, but the glow on his hands kept going on and off.

There must have been something else in those icicles that hit him.

I looked at both side of the bridge as I noticed black clouds fill every side beneath the bridge.

The black clouds were everywhere and I could no longer see the red rocky bottom of the bridge.

I began to feel strange as I ran. I could no longer run at Vampire speed and I found myself running at a regular human speed.

It was not that I couldn't feel my Vampire all supernatural site, this was different. It feels as if I was being forcefully slowed down.

I looked at the black clouds beneath the bridge again and knew that it was probably the reason for that. Everyone else too slowed down too but we kept running nonetheless.

Out of nowhere I saw an arrow wheeze past me and I gasped as I saw the arrow hit Kaden in the chest from behind.

Kaden stopped running immediately, freezing in place. Almost immediately another arrow I mean hit Kaden in the chest again from behind.

I stopped running instantly and I watched as the arrow suddenly exploded in Kaden chest..

  "Kaden!!!!!!" I screamed

The force threw Kaden off his feet immediately and I watched as he got flung off the flung off the bridge.

He also lost grip of Draco and the both of them fell from the bridge. Before Draco could disappear into the darkness beneath the bridge, a small red ray of light appeared under him.

He fell into the of light and I turned around to see Draco in Mor's hand.

"Till we meet again," Mor said with a devilish grin.

"Draco!" I screamed and I ran towards them, but before I could get to them, a bright blinding light enveloped them and by the time the light dimmed, they had disappeared.

  "No. No. No. No. Noooooooooooooooooooo!"

  ***

  Garr.

  Three Years From Now.

I fell on my butt and I looked up to see a familiar face. Cade!

  How is that possible?!

I quickly got up on my feet again and I concentrated my magic to my palms, building a purple ball of pure energy. I quickly tossed the energy at him and he raised up his hand, rock from the floor raising up in the air and forming a shield in front of him.

I created another almost immediately and tossed it at him. This time, the energy smashed through the rock shield and it hit him in the chest, throwing him away.

Immediately, I stretched out my hands and purple waves whirled rapidly in the air to form a portal. As the portal fully formed, I ran forward to go into it, but I felt the floor beneath me lift me up and twist me around, dropping me on the floor. I sat up and looked forward to see Cade walking towards me with his fists clenched fiercely.

I slowly crawled backward and glanced at the open portal. There was no way I'll be able to get to it. There was a way through and it was dangerous.

I had to go into the portal as pure energy and it could cause a dangerous magical reaction.

I looked up and Cade was getting closer. It was either that or die by Cade's hand.

I choose the first. I snapped my fingers and I immediately became a bolt of lightning and I flashed into the portal.

I continued flashing inside the portal, struggling to make it through to the other side. I couldn't switch back to my human form here and I struggled so hard to sustain myself as I travelled through the mass of energy.

Because I was in lightning form, the portal kept seeing me as an energy like itself and it wanted to absorb me so I had to maintain focus and escape the walls of the portal that were trying to suck me in.

I could finally see the end of the portal and I flashed at a faster speed.

All of a sudden, the portal spat me out, and changing form mid-air, I landed on a wooden floor, groaning in pain.

I winced in pain and held my side as I could feel something had been damaged.

I grunted as I slowly got up on my feet and I looked around to see that I landed before the door of an house.

I looked back as I saw the door open and Selena stepped out of the door. Oh Great!

"What the heck Garr!" She exclaimed. She was wearing a fitting red dress and her hair was packed into a stylish bun.

"Why are you dressed like this and I have been waiting for you," She said, looking at the lecturing robe I wore.

"I was just ambushed by someone who's supposed to have a dagger in his heart," I said, holding on to my aching side and Selena's eyebrow etched in worry.

  "Garr, what happened?"

"Cade. I was attacked by the elemental, Cade."
