PINK VISITOR
Camilla and Lisa had agreed to take just the really small but relatively expensive things that seemed like they won't be missed from the mansion. Camilla herself had scavenged through the entire house and she took all she could from it. The only places left are the rooms.
She can't go to Jessie's room because that was always around the house and it would be too risky going to steal from such a noisy bitch. Camilla may be a thief but she has some self-respect in her trade.
Peter's room is also out of question. Camilla will not be surprised if the guy has cameras embedded in his bed to watch whoever goes in out of his room in his absence.
Camilla never takes from the poor, so the maids and other workers' room is out of the question.
This leaves her with only one option, Ethan's room. He isn't as cynical as Jessie and not as careful as Peter, so slipping into his room will not be a problem.
True to her thoughts, Ethan's room is very easy to enter and leave without being noticed. Camilla slips into Ethan's room quietly, making sure there is no one watching her. There is nothing else to steal in the house that will not be noticed. She is left with only his room.
As she pushes the door closed behind her, she is in a dark room. She blinks her eyes trying to get used to the darkness, but nothing changes. She lets her fingers feel around the room and she finds the light switch. She turns it on and light fills the room, brightening every inch of it.
Camilla is thrown aback by the beauty of the room. It is very manly, yet she finds it very inviting. The sheets and curtains are black. The black bed sheet is a silk material, making the bed look like a dark pool, that calls unto her. But that's not what shocks Camilla, what has her frozen in spot is the line of wristwatches arranged systematically on his dressing table. She doesn't even bother to check the rest of the things worth stealing in the room. The wristwatches will suffice for now. Her legs start moving with a mind of their own towards the place where the wristwatches are kept.
"Oh my freaking God!" She exclaims, muffling her words with her palm as she gets closer. The collection is indeed a killer set.
Who the hell keeps this much gold in their room?
All the wristwatches are gold and designer editions. She is tempted to take everything on the table but she fists her hands taking deep breaths to calm herself down. If she takes everything, he will notice and that won't be good for her. Ethan will start suspecting someone and sooner or later she will get caught — because she won't ever stop.
Camilla observes the arrangement. She notices that the most expensive is at the top while the less expensive is at the bottom. She picks up one of the Rolexes at the beginning of the stack and takes a step back as she clutches the golden watch in her hands.
She raises it to the light and she can't help the giggles that escape her lips. She has hit jackpot. This is the most expensive thing she had ever stolen and she felt excitement like never before. With this, she didn't need to search for more stuff to steal to make up her father's hospital bill. This one in her hand can pay for her father's hospital bills for two months and it is the smallest watch in the collection. Now, imagine if she took the most expensive wristwatch in the collection.
Camilla quickly dips are caught in her jeans pocket and scurries to the exit. She puts off the light and pulls the door open, slipping out as quietly as she had entered.
She is about to skid into her room when her eyes meet that of Jessie by the corner of the corridor, watching her.
"How long have you been there?" Camilla's heart jumps out of her chest as she tries to remember if Jessie was there or even her shadow was there when she had passed. Did she see her entering Ethan's room?
"Long enough to see that you are truly a thief!" Jessie hisses as she leaves the shadows and walks closer to Camilla.
Camilla holds her breath as she watches Jessie. She prays to heaven that Jessie is only ranting like always and she has no proof.
"Camilla your end is near. All your petty charms will soon be exposed very soon. I am watching your every move." She points two of her fingers in her eyes and stretches towards Camilla before walking away.
Camilla releases a breath she didn't even realize she was holding. She proceeds into the house and allows her back to rest on the door. The first phase has been done now she needs to start with the second phase which is taking the catch to Lisa. Ever since the incident with Peter, Camilla told Lisa to stay low in their apartment until things changed. For now, she will have to get the merchandise out to Lisa on her own.
She goes to her wardrobe and takes out her favorite snickers, she puts them on. Then she puts on a large blue hoodie. She keeps her phone in her back pocket and carefully opens her door again. She makes sure to check left and right properly for any cynical eyes that might be watching her when she is certain that nobody is watching her. She slips out, locks her door with the key, and scurries down the corridor to the kitchen — her safest escape route.
By this time of the day, Mary should be sleeping and the kitchen staff doesn't hang around whenever Mary is not with them. She is just about to enter the kitchen when she hears voices, she takes a sudden turn to the right and hides behind the wall.
Shit!
"I am telling you, that town is mine. We can't let anybody take over it!"
It is a woman's voice and Camilla has never heard it before. She wants to peer through the wall and see who is speaking but she is scared the person might see her too.
"Yes, of course, I had to leave for some time. I am at the main packhouse now. I came to see Peter." The voice keeps saying.
Camilla wonders why she referred to the estate as a packhouse. What sort of term is that? — she asks herself.
Curiosity takes over her and just as the speaker passes her side, Camilla peeks through and she catches a glimpse of pink.
Who is this pink panther? — Camilla wonders but she doesn't have time to dwell on the matter for she needs to take this opportunity and slip out of the house. Thankfully, no one is in the kitchen, just like she anticipated. She makes a beeline for the back door and disappears out of it.
Outside, the pressure is a bit lower, she places on her hoodie, to hide her face and she heads to the smaller gate. She opens it gently praying for the old hinges to not cry out. When it finally opens, she skids out and gently pushes it closed behind her.
She walks as fast as she can to the bus stop where she waits, shaking her legs impatiently for the bus to come. She hasn't called Lisa yet, but she hoped she was home. Camilla feels like someone is watching her from across the road, she peeks ahead but finds no one. She draws her hoodie over her face to cover it completely so that not a strand of her red hair is showing.
She starts feeling like the person is approaching and gets uneasy. Did someone follow her from the house?
Just when she feels like the person is about a breath from her reach, the bus arrives and she jumps in, saying a quick prayer of gratitude to the driver for the perfect timing.
She settles into a seat far from the window and lowers her head. Whoever is watching her might want to see her face through the window. Camilla's head remains lowered till the bus has gone a good distance from the estate. Out of caution, she remains in her position till she gets to her bus stop.
Camilla alights from the bus and makes a beeline to their apartment not wanting to stare anywhere else. For some reason, she still feels like someone is watching her, especially when she gets to the entrance of their building.
She pulls her hoodie lower even and runs through the stairs to their door. She raps softly on the door, giving it their adopted four fingers brush for an emergency.
Lisa opens the door almost immediately, she pops her head out and checked left and right for stalkers. When she sees known, she pulls Camilla into the room and locks the door with a key and chain behind her.
"What's going on?" Camilla asks. She has an emergency, which involved that feeling she was getting since the estate, that someone is watching or following her, that was why she gave that sound at the door. But Lisa looks like she has an emergency of her own too.
Lisa pulls her to the window and pointed at a cafe across from it. Camilla squints into the window, trying to make out if she will see anything important or dangerous cafè but sees nothing.
"I don't see anything Lisa, what is it?" Camilla asks straining her neck to see more, thinking maybe she missed something.
Lisa slaps a hand to her face and pulls Camilla's face closer to her, "look at the first chair by that right window..." She trails pointing at the chair, "do you see the person down there?"
Camilla tries to squint and narrow her eyes farther, so she can see this person Kisa is talking about. She notices the person's full hair, broad shoulder, and calm stance. It reminds her of someone, but she can't put a finger on who exactly she saw.
"I can see the person you speak of now, but I can see their face! " Camilla cries out as she glues her face the window.
"Camilla look closely!" Lisa insists.
Just like as she tries to explain how she can't tell, the person turns his head in their direction, and Camilla's breath seizes.
She turns away from the window and covers her mouth. "What is he doing here?" Camilla's eyes are as large as soccer balls as she tries to calm her breathing down.
"What is Peter doing here?"
