PART TRUTH

　　Peter stares at his friend intently and he sees the sincerity in them. Ethan can't suspect someone unless he has a very good reason to do so.

　　"Why do you think she might be involved in this?" Peter asks him.

　　"The woman is power-crazed," Ethan says and Peter grins. Ethan rolls his eyes at him. "I know I am also power-hungry but I work for my power. I don't go behind people's backs or cook crazy dark stories to get it. I don't use evil ploys. It's simply brain and instincts. " Ethan tells him.

　　"Fine, I understand your point. Abut Lady Zara has been in that town for ages, why will she make a move now? Is there something else you are not telling me? " Peter asks him.

　　Ethan readjusts himself in his seat and looks into Peter. "After Mike got arrested and we went into the basements, they then held a party. I was starting to have strange feelings because of the distance between Camilla and me, so I had to turn into my wolf and go clear my mind." He pauses, to make sure Peter is following him.

　　"When I got to the forest, a female wolf came to me and wanted me to taker her in her wolf form!"

　　Peter makes an irritated face, "what? Who still does things like that?" He asks in disgust.

　　"I had the same thoughts. I could have killed her but I let her live."

　　"That's insane! Did you find out who it was?" Peter questions.

　　"Yes, I did. A few minutes after getting to the Pack building, a young girl came crying to me. I recognized their eyes and smell. She begged me to take her or her mother was going to kill her."

　　Peter's eyes were as large as footballs as he listened to Ethan. "Don't tell me..."

　　"Yes. She is Zara's supposed daughter," Ethan finishes Peter's statement

　　"Fuck! Why would she send her daughter to you?"

　　"That's the question. I feel she wants her daughter to be my Luna. So she can rule alongside her. There is no other. Explanation. Why else will she come to me in her wolf form if not that?" Ethan says raising his hands.

　　Peter breathes out sharply as he also considers the situation. "I don't know what to think. We have a lot of suspects. Anybody could have been involved in this," he says.

　　"Yeah," Ethan shrugs.

　　They both fall into silence again as they are each lost in thoughts of their own. Why will lady Zara, send her daughter to Ethan to be taken in her primal state? It made no sense!

　　"Who did you leave in charge?" Peter asks after a while. "Hope not her?"

　　"No, I didn't. An investigation needs to be carried out in lady Zara. I left Max in charge." Ethan replies.

　　"You are right about that," Peter says. "How about Adam, how is the cure for the infection coming up?"

　　"I left them still working. As soon as he is done, Max will give me a call then we can start an investigation on all the stakeholders and elders. They all seemed tired of Mike but none had been bold enough to complain about him. They are all hiding something. "

　　"Okay. That's cool."

　　Ethan checks his time and notices that time has gone, he will need to take to talk with Camilla at least for a few minutes before she sleeps. He won't be able to sleep if he doesn't do that.

　　He gets up from his seat and Peter gets up too. "Are you retiring to bed?" He asks him.

　　"Not yet, I need to see Camilla before I do that," Ethan says as he starts to walk towards the large doors of his office.

　　"Which reminds me, you mentioned she was acting strange..." Ethan says as they leave the office and start approaching the bedroom corridors.

　　"About that," Peter says stopping in his tracks. Ethan has no choice but to pause as well.

　　"Is something wrong?" He asks getting worried.

　　"Not exactly, it's just like I told you. I feel like her memories are starting to return but she doesn't want to open up and admit it," Peter explains.

　　"Is this the same matter you spoke to me on the phone about?" Ethan asks him.

　　"Yes, Ethan. I have been tracking down this friend of hers. They stay in the same house and I saw her here the other day, yet Camilla denied seeing her..." Peter says with a frown. He didn't understand why Camilla will lie to him. It is a good thing she is getting her memories back, so why deny it?

　　Ethan breathes out sharply. "Peter, it's very simple. Maybe this friend of hers only came to check her and Camilla didn't see her. We've had this discussion before, " Ethan says as he resumes walking. He didn't want to start going over an old conversation over and over. Especially since it has to do with Camilla.

　　"Ethan, I know you love her but don't let your love for her blind your judgment, " Peter advises.

　　Ethan stops abruptly, his defense mode surfacing. "What would you have me do?" He snaps at his best friend.

　　Peter raises his hands protectively in the air, "Ethan I am not trying to insinuate you do anything. Just ask her about it, that's all I ask."

　　Ethan glares at him coldly before turning to continue his journey. "I have heard you. Do have a good night." He mumbles as he walks already being drawn by Camilla's intoxicating smell.

　　But then Peter's words return to him and it starts running through his head. Peter won't just warm him without concrete proof. He will have to at least ask Camilla about the incident maybe she will open up to him. He is her mate, after all, their mate's pull should make it easier for her to trust him. The pull had already been manifesting in her. He remembered the way she had hugged him in the morning when he got to her room. Even if she felt shy afterward, the feeling was irreplaceable.

　　Ethan gets to the door and as he raises his hand to knock, his wolf senses pick out Camilla's mood, she seems to be happy, like she is laughing about something. He knocks and her heartbeat changes to fear at once.

　　Why does she have so many emotions running through her mind at once?

　　He is about to knock again when the door pulls open slowly and her flushed face comes in front of him.

　　"Hey," he greets, flashing her a smile.

　　"Hey," she whispers back, looking down at her feet.

　　When he first met her in the garden, she was so fierce and got tempered, he never thought she could become this mild. He sends a quick prayer to the goddess to also take away her stealing habit just like she has melted her heart.

　　"Can I come in?" He asks her and she nods, stepping away from the door so he can come into her room.

　　Ethan goes to her bed and sits. She takes slow steps to the bed but picks aside a couple of spaces away from him.

　　"How was your trip?" She asks him.

　　Ethan looks at her and smiles, "I think you have asked me that this morning."

　　She picks up a few stray hairs and places them behind her ears, hiding her blush from his view. "Oh, I forgot," she says.

　　"Camilla," Ethan calls and she raises her head to meet his green eyes. "We are to go visit the doctor tomorrow for your injury, I want you to get ready." As he speaks to her, his wolf scratches around in his mind, purring in pleasure each time she blushes about something or pulls a stray hair behind her. Camilla is so beautiful, repeating it a million times doesn't even begin to make her less appealing.

　　"What time are we leaving?" She asks. Her voice is soft and soothing, Ethan can listen to it for eternity without getting tired.

　　"In the morning," he manages to say as his eyes start becoming a deeper shade of green. Camilla looks away at her fingers and his wolf almost goes mad when she pulls her bottom lip into her mouth.

　　If he keeps watching her, his wolf will surface and he won't be able to control it. But Camilla isn't ready to be introduced into his world yet. He won't want to scare her away from him. To keep his mind off her body and keep his wolf in check, he decides to talk about other serious matters

　　"Camilla, Peter mentioned something to me... I don't know but... Are you starting to have your memories back?" He asks and Camilla feels her blood go cold in her veins.

　　She is so grateful to Lisa for giving her an idea of how to handle the situation. She knew Peter was going to tell Ethan about her and he did. She takes a deep breath and tries to look him in the eye, -looking someone in the eyes, made lying seem more believable, she thought to herself

　　"It's true. I have gotten some of my memories back," she whispers and Ethan smiles, shifting closer to her he holds her by the hand.

　　"That's wonderful news! What do you remember?" Ethan asks

　　His happiness surprises her and she finds herself smiling too. She had thought he was going to be angry with her that she has been lying about her health, but his happiness was contagious.

　　"What do you remember?" Ethan asks with a lot of enthusiasm.

　　"Well, I remember a friend of mine. Lisa..." This is the part where she has to cry to make her story believable. She looks down at her finger and she starts faking a tremor. Soon she is sobbing.

　　Ethan panics and quickly holds her in his arms. "What's the matter Camilla, it is good that you remembered this friend of yours, did something happen to you?" Ethan asks, not able to understand why she is crying all of a sudden

　　"I lied to Peter," she sobs quietly into her hands.

　　Ethan feels a kind of warmth crawl into him. If Camilla is feeling remorseful about lying that means she will also feel guilty about her pickpocket act and stop it altogether.

　　"I was scared that - that if he told you, you will ask me to leave the house and I didn't want to leave. I have grown to like it here really much." She says as she continues sobbing.

　　Ethan gently pulls her arms away and makes her stare into his face. "Camilla, I will never ask you to leave. If it is in my power, you will never leave..."
