DOCTOR'S VISIT
Camilla is so happy she has defeated the receptionist she completely forgets the doom waiting for her ahead. she holds on tight to Ethan's hand and there is a bounce to her steps as she walks.
That receptionist thought she could take Ethan away from her, she must have missed the morning news! Camilla thinks happily.
She is still smiling triumphantly when Ethan stops in front of a door and she follows his action. Ethan knocks and a gruff voice answers from within.
As the door opens slightly, her fear resumes. Her hands start getting sweaty. They are at the doctor's office. The place she dreaded the most. Any slight mistake at this point, all her secrets will be exposed. Her body grows stiff as fear makes her blood run cold.
Ethan walks in and once again she has followed after him, against her will. She wants nothing more but to be told the doctor has suddenly gone mad and she won't have to be so scared of his diagnosis. As they walk in, Camilla keeps her head directed to the floor. She doesn't want to commit the mistake of raising her head and coming face to face with the doctor. She fears the whole idea of being there.
A bald-looking man in brown suit seats at the edge of the room. When he sees them approaching him, he gets up from his seat to welcome them.
"Mr. Ethan! What a pleasure to see you in person!" The man says beaming with smiles.
"Doctor George..." Ethan stretches his hand and shakes the man too.
"Please, seat," Doctor George tells them.
Ethan pulls the chair for Camilla to seat just like the perfect gentleman he is. When they are seated and settled the doctor begins talking again.
"I read the file on your girlfriend's incidence. I have also seen her head scan. It is very good. There is no cause for alarm." The man says and Camilla discreetly pinches herself.
Camilla wants to scream she is not Ethan's girlfriend but she is scared if she voices out her fears, the doctor might ask her more questions, so she stays silent.
"Are you saying her memories will return gradually?" Ethan asks.
"Yes, her brain scan is okay. She didn't sustain any damage to it. With time her memories of everyone will return." The doctor adds smiling at Camilla.
Is that all? -Camilla wonders.
He won't come in front of her to ask her multiple questions? He won't poke kinds of stuff in her brain to see that she has been lying?
Camilla has been killing herself all day thinking, she is going to need to carry the sickest face in the universe for the doctor to believe her but it turns out she doesn't even need to do anything.
"Young lady, what's your name?"
Pff, that is too easy, -Camilla thinks in her head.
"I am Camilla Louise," she replies instead of the comment in her head.
The man beams at her happily as she has just given him an answer to a multi-million question. He then turns to Ethan bubbly with satisfaction.
"You see, Mr. Ethan, for most amnesia patients, their identity is the first problem. The doctor that treated her at City hospital said she was having trouble remembering even her name..."
Camilla starts doubting the doctor. What if this guy is fake? How come he can't tell that she never had any memory lost in the first place?
"Yes, that's right. When she woke up after the accident. She didn't remember her name," Ethan tells the doctor. He holds Camilla's hands as he speaks and she on the other hand can't help but swim in ecstasy at the contact between them.
"Yes and now, as you can see. She remembers her name," the doctor says, pointing his pen at Camilla who keeps smiling like an average student among the best in class.
"She even remembers her best friend. That's also a very good thing right?" Ethan interjects and the doctor turns his eyes to Camilla.
Camilla gulps, praying her cover has not just been blown over by that statement. Are amnesia patients supposed to remember their best friends?
"You do remember your friend?" The doctor asks Camilla if Ethan spoke in a different language.
She nods gently, dropping her eyes to her fingers on her lap, the other hand is in Ethan's hand.
"That is wonderful news! You don't have to be worried at all. Her speed of recovery is like nothing I have seen before! It's remarkable!" Doctor George exclaims, shaking Ethan's hands.
Camilla's heart skips a beat and Ethan turns to look at her with a frown on his face. "Are you okay?" He mouths.
"Yeah, I am fine," Camilla says. The damn guy always had a way of knowing her feelings.
Doctor George writes down another list of drugs and gives it to Ethan. "Okay, get these for her and make sure she takes one in the morning and another in the night before she takes her meal."
Ethan takes the piece of paper from the doctor and gets up, taking Camilla with her.
"Thank you very much doctor," Ethan says and once again they shake hands sealing the deal.
Ethan moves Camilla to the door and they leave the doctor's office. The receptionist at the entrance can no longer look at them in the eyes as she feels ashamed of herself. Camilla makes sure to sway her waist as they pass her desk, just to add to the receptionist's pain.
By the time they get Into the vehicle, Ethan can't hold in his laugh anymore. He starts laughing at her antics. She made that receptionist feel so bad.
"What's funny," Camilla asks.
"You are a very naughty little human, aren't you?" He smiles.
Camilla frowns playfully and pouts her mouth, "you call me human like you are a different specie!"
Ethan laughs but his laughter is that of a man falling off a bicycle. He doesn't want to dwell on that topic and curses himself for even starting it in the first place.
"You must be hungry, let me take you somewhere nice," he says rather than respond to the questions.
The mention of food makes her stomach rumble in excitement. "Thank you," she says with excitement.
When was the last time she went out to eat?
That is like never!
She thinks to herself happily but sadness soon engulfs her when she remembers the times before her parent had an accident and they weren't lacking. A time when she didn't have to steal for an unsuspecting patrol to be able to put a decent meal on her table. Those days, her father will take her out and they'll order for all the weird names they could find in a menu just to know what they looked like. Most times they ended up giving it out to the poor for they couldn't eat the strange-looking meals at all.
Now, she has become the poor. And though she doesn't have to beg to eat, she does worst. She steals and lies.
The car soon parked in front of a nice restaurant in town. It isn't too expensive for an average person but it is an attraction for some of the patrons she steals from.
"You are not hungry?" Ethan asks worry taking over his features. Camilla has a frown on her face and her bottom lip looks like she is about to cry. "Is something wrong?" He asks her.
She quickly hides away her pain and smiles. "I am fine, shall we go now?" She beams.
Ethan feels the change in her features but he decides to let it go so they can both enjoy their meal. They alight from the car and he takes her hand, then he leads her into the restaurant.
Inside the waiter welcomes them and shows them to their table. Ethan pulls the chair out for Camilla and waits for her to seat, before going to take his seat. Camilla is blushing slightly so she tries to hide her blush by looking at the intricate carpet of the restaurant.
"Sir the menu," the waiter says, handing each of them a menu. "Would you like wine or water as you wait?" He asks politely.
Camilla is about to say wine but Ethan beats her to it. "We'll have a bottle of water and maybe juice later. Just water for now," he tells him.
The waiter bows slightly and turns away to get their refreshment.
Ethan feels Camilla's eyes on him so he raises his eyes from the menu and looks at her. He finds her glaring at him.
"What's wrong?" Ethan asks confused.
"I wanted wine! Why didn't you let me talk?" She asks with a frown on her face.
Ethan smiles shaking his head " Camilla, you are on medication, and it is eight o'clock in the morning. I don't think wine is good for you or your recovery. Water instead, performs magic!"
"I don't need the magic. I am feeling great already, please tell him to just bring a little glass for me!" She insists but Ethan refuses her.
"I will give you anything you want but not the wine. Choose something else," he says returning his eyes to the menu
"I don't want-" she is about to protest again before she remembers what he just said to her. "You will give me anything?" She asks as the craziest plan starts coming into her head.
Ethan looks up from the menu again and sees the mischief in her eyes. It tugs at him and somehow he feels his cock twitch. Camilla is so cute. He doesn't know how many times he has to say it but damn!
"What do you want, Camilla?" The way he mentions her name is the sexiest version she has ever heard. She bites her bottom lip and smiles.
"When you go back to work, can my friend come to stay with me?" She says the words so fast Ethan almost misses them.
"Is that all?" He asks. He has to admit he is a bit disappointed he had thought she was going to ask for something else. Maybe a hug or a kiss, -no, that is what is going on in his head. If she wants her friend to come to stay with her, then that isn't a big deal at all.
"It is done." He says, watching her intently waiting to see her eyes sparkle in excitement again the way it usually does.
"Really? " she exclaims and Ethan gets what he is waiting for. The corners of her eyes meet and her eyes look like glass at that moment.
"Thank you so much! You are the best friend ever!" She screams happily.
The waiter comes with their drinks and Camilla doesn't even notice him. She is somewhere in her head thinking about how elated Lisa will be to hear that she can come to stay with her for a while.
