THE NEWCOMER
Camilla wakes up with a gasp. Her eyes fall on her phone and she cries out.
"Oh, God!"
Last night after her conversation with Ethan. She had convinced him to stay and leave in the morning. As gratitude for all he did for her. she planned on helping him arrange his bags for him in the morning. Her alarm failed her for the time is ten o'clock and Ethan is supposed to leave by seven o'clock. Without even checking herself, Camilla runs out of her room and goes to Ethan's room. She pushes the door open and finds Peter staring at her with shock in his eyes.
"Oh! I am sorry!" She says growing red with embarrassment.
Peter is holding a paper and as he sees the expression on her face, his shock vanishes and it is replaced with a smile.
"Let me guess, you wanted to wish Ethan goodbye and then you just woke up?" Peter places his hands on his waist and grins at her.
"I thought I was going to wake up early. Why didn't anyone wake me?" She groans. Color slowly blended on her face.
"I don't know why he didn't wake you. Maybe he just wanted you to have a good rest..." Peter shrugs.
Camilla pouts as she looks around feeling dejected. She hoped she could do this small thing for him after the mean he got her yesterday.
Seeing the look on her face, Peter walks to her and pats her on the shoulder, "don't be like this. Ethan travels a lot. You can always help him out some other time."
"But I wanted to help him this time!" Camilla whines, feeling a pain in her heart. She doesn't want to admit it but she already misses him. She hoped to talk with him before he left was going to make it easier but he left without even telling her.
"You are going to put me in trouble if you continue with that face," Peter tells her.
"Huh?" She wonders. What is he talking about?
"Ethan told me to take very good care of you. Now if he comes back and he meets you sad and pouting like this, I am going to be in a lot of trouble." Peter deadpans jokingly.
Camilla gives him a small smile. "Well, do you know what I can do to be happy then? I don't like this long face either."
"You know what my specialty is?" Peter turns her around and they start walking out of the room.
"No, what is it?" She asks him, getting interested
"I advise people. So now that you want to be happy, let us see. First I need you to take a shower and next I want you to go to Mary so she can get your breakfast for you. Then finally, you should call Ethan, it will make him happy to hear your voice." Peter beams at her.
Camilla can't help the heat that flushes through her face. They are now in front of her room and she moves to stand by it. Peter's advice is not a bad one, but she will prefer to call him first before doing any of the things he mentioned earlier.
"Earth to Camilla. Earth to Camilla..." Peter snaps his fingers under her nose to get her attention. She is lost in thoughts and Peter only wants to cheer her up.
Camilla smiles looking up at him. "I think I will take some of your advice."
"That will be perfect! Now, if you don't mind, I will like to check on Nary so she can get your food ready, are you expecting anyone else?"
Ethan had told him that her friend, Lisa was coming but he wanted to confirm it from her lips.
Camilla looks a bit alarmed like she just even remembered about Lisa coming. She has been so preoccupied with missing Ethan she forgot about her best friend's visit.
"Oh, God! I forgot!" She exclaims. "Let me go check on her." With that, she briskly opens her bedroom door and runs to get her phone, leaving behind a laughing Peter.
Peter is happy not just for the fact that he considers Camilla to be a very funny creature but he is also happy Lisa is coming to spend some time with them in the house —not exactly them but since she is coming to be with Camilla, there is no way she won't interact with the rest of the house.
"Lisa, where are you?" Camilla shrieks on the phone. She had met about four missed calls on her phone from Lisa. She can't even remember when she had placed the phone on vibration.
"Don't use that tone on me girl. Where the hell did you put your phone?" Lisa yells on her end.
Camilla winces as she moves the phone away from her ears. "Lisa I slept off and I forgot to check my calls. I am so sorry. Where are you now?" She repeats.
"You will see me in the next ten minutes and you had better have a very good excuse for not picking my calls." With that Lisa ends the call and Camilla falls on the bed.
Lisa is the boyfriend and best friend she had in her life. She got really mad when Camilla did not pick up her calls but that is just the way she is. As soon as she sees Camilla she will forget all about her anger.
Camilla quickly runs to take a shower before Lisa arrived. When she gets out she throws on one of her large pink t-shirts and she wears black cargo pants to go with it.
She picks up her phone and removes it from vibration, making sure to increase the volume high enough to hear when anyone calls her.
Camilla then leaves her room and heads to the kitchen, since Lisa is coming in very soon, there won't be a need to eat now. she will hit wait for Lisa to come so they could eat together.
"Good morning Mary!" She greets with glee in her eyes. "Did you sleep well?"
Mary glances at her and smiles. A sweet bright smile that makes Camilla blush a little. "I should be asking you that question. You slept in very late. Are you alright?" She asks him
Camilla slaps a hand on her face. "Yes, I am fine. I don't even know how I slept in for so long."
"Not to worry, I was just pulling your legs." Mary waves her hand dismissively with a smile.
"What would you like to eat dear?"
"Oh, that's why I am here. You see my friend is coming. My best friend. She will be here in five minutes... Hmmm, I don't know what you can do in five minutes but I trust your hands make us some magic!" Camilla says clapping her hands together in happiness
"I see this friend of yours must be something," Mary says laughing softly. Camilla nods her head happily like a small child.
"Okay, go on and welcome your friend, I will do something for you."
"Thank you so much, Mary! You are an angel!" Camilla exclaims running out of the kitchen.
She wants to head back to her room to fix her wet hair but there is a ring to the door and she knows instantly that it is Lisa. She changed her direction and moved to the door.
"Hey Criminal!" Lisa grins holding her two small pink bags close to her.
"You look like a homeless kitten Lisa! Come on in!" Camilla exclaims pulling her into a hug.
" I am so glad you are here!" She adds into Lisa's blonde hair.
"I am also glad I am here but if you don't let me go, I'll die..." Lisa chokes out
Camilla releases her hands from her neck and they both start laughing at themselves.
"Come let me show you to our room!" Camilla takes the bags from her and leads her to the room.
"You should have seen the face of the security at the gate when he saw me with my bags, do you all wear dinner dresses around here? Gosh, I feel like a maid!" Lisa snickers and Camilla joins her.
"You should see them at dinner time, you will crack up!" Camilla adds and they laugh even louder.
Their sweet laughter echoes through the corridor and Sandra peeks through her bedroom door to see who was being so lousy in the house. As she sees Camilla and a new girl, without class, she hisses and closes her door with a bang. She doesn't have time to watch some poor girls from the gutters.
Jessie also hears the laugh but she waves it off as a sound coming from the maids. She will have to reprimand them during lunch so they could behave more properly. When she and Ethan get married, she will even fire all of them.
Peter who also hears the alluring sound of laughter of Camilla and Lisa, can't resist, he comes out of his room and meets them as they are about to enter Camilla's room.
"Ladies," Peter calls and they both turn to look at him.
"Hi, " Lisa waves at him.
"Peter meet my friend, Lisa." Camilla introduces, "and Lisa meet Peter," she says with a smile. She knows they had met because Lisa told her but to keep their story without holes, they have to carry on pretending but Peter has other plans.
"Oh, hi Lisa..." Peter grins. "Lisa Maur or should I say, Lisa Maurice?"
