Chapter 50

  DINNER DRAMA

"Peter meet my friend, Lisa." Camilla introduces, "and Lisa meet Peter," she says with a smile. She knows they had met because Lisa told her but to keep their story without holes, they have to carry on pretending but Peter has other plans.

"Oh, hi Lisa..." Peter grins. "Lisa Maur or should I say, Lisa Maurice?"

Lisa and Camilla exchange looks before returning to smile blindly at Peter.

"You two know each other?" Camilla squeaks awkwardly, pretending to not have known about their meeting. Lisa immediately buys the new trick Camilla is starting

"Oh yes. We do. Yeah, I know him," Lisa stutters, scratching the back of her ears.

Peter folds his arms across his chest and watches them with amusement in his eyes. He knew they were lying but somehow, he seem to enjoy the show they were presenting.

"Hi, Peter, right?" Lisa squeaks again as her ears grow red in embarrassment.

"Yeah," Peter grins. He sees their struggle and he almost starts snickering right there in front of them but he holds still deciding to let them be for now. He doesn't want to put Camilla in an awkward situation, so it doesn't affect Ethan. But as for Lisa, he has a lot to talk about with her, since she is staying he will just have to find another time to talk to her.

"I have some work to do. I will see you, ladies, later, " he gives a quick salute and turns to return to his office, a smile lingering on his face. Lisa is so cute, even as she is lying he can't deny the sweet feelings that drown his rational mind.

Lisa and Camilla rush into the room as soon as Peter turns his back. They close the door behind them and Camilla leans on the door while Lisa starts pacing.

"Did I make a mistake coming here?" Lisa asks as she bites her finger.

Camilla doesn't answer. She closes her eyes and thinks about the situation. Peter has met Lisa on a couple of occasions. They can't keep lying to him. They will have to start telling him some things and besides, he is not a bad person or strange or anything. He just cares about his friend and things plus the people he is involved with. —with all that being said, maybe they are not in trouble. At least not yet.

"Camilla, what should I do! Should I go back?" Lisa clutches her pink bags and stood in front of Camilla.

Camilla extends her arm on Lisa and holds her still. "No. You are not going. I have told Ethan about the house and I think it is safe to say that Peter is not an enemy. We shouldn't be scared of him. Rather we should make him our friend..." Camilla suggested.

"You think that will work? You are sure he won't send us to prison?" Lisa asks in a panic.

"Lisa snap out of this. You are the one with the ideas here! Once you panic, I panic too. So snap out of it!" Camilla shakes Lisa roughly and the bags she is clutching to herself fall at her feet.

"We started this together in peace, we will send it in peace too. Now go in there take a shower and let us conquer! " Camilla adds.

"What are we conquering?" Lisa raises her brows wondering if there is another task for her to do.

Camilla slaps a hand to her face again before picking up Lisa's bags in front of the floor. She places it on the bed and opens the first one.

"Think of this place as a treasure island..." She begins.

"And who are the people or things we are conquering?" Lisa finally slumps on the bed but her eyes keep following all of Camilla's movements.

Camilla brings out the content of Lisa's bag and starts arranging them in the empty part of the drawers and wardrobe. "There are two other pirate captains on this island, Jessie and Sandra." As Camilla says this, Lisa finally understands what she has been trying to say all along.

"Ooh, now I get it. You and I can't be defeated! Let them bring it on..." Lisa says as she falls back on the bed. "This is heaven!" She exclaims as she relaxes into the large bed.

Camilla finishes arranging her clothes, she is about to move to the bathroom to place some of Lisa's toiletries in there when there is a knock on the door.

"Let me get it!" Lisa announces to Camilla.

Lisa reaches the door and pulls it open. There is a large tray right in front of her and she blinks her eyes. "Camilla, did you call room service?"

Camilla is surprised at first and tries to crack her head into finding out who is the room service, Lisa is referring to, but none come to mind until she remembers she had told Mary to bring them some food since she had also not taken breakfast this morning.

"Lisa, that's Mary, get the tray from her," Camilla instructs from the bathroom.

"Oh, thanks a lot, " Lisa beams, taking the tray from the older woman.

"Enjoy your meal," Mary says before slowly slipping away from the door to start preparing for lunch.

Lisa carries the tray to the bedside table and places it in it.

"What did she cook?" Camilla asks and Kisa opens the tray. It is a variety of means. There is a plate of baked rice and a plate of waffles dripping with chocolate. There is even another plate of food, and this one contains spaghetti and meatballs. There is a large roasted chicken at the center of the tray that makes Lisa feel like she is back for a Thanksgiving.

"Mary sure knows how to blow my mind away, " Camilla exclaims as she sees the meal too.

The both of them waste no time in enjoying their meal. When they are done with their meal and endless talks. They both fall back into the best and slowly drift off to sleep.

A sharp knock comes to the door waking the two friends. Lisa stretches her hands on the bed and pushes Camilla to the floor.

"Go see who it is..." She says.

Camilla sluggishly drags herself to the door and opens it, Mary is standing there with a smile on her face.

"I would have loved to let you guys sleep but Mr. Peter insists you come down for dinner, " Mary says with a smile.

Camilla's eyes enlarge in shock. "Dinner? What time is it?" The sleep that is still threatening to pull her back into its warm embrace leaves her immediately. Her eyes become wide awake. They have been sleeping for hours!

"Okay, Mary, thank you, we'll come down! " she blurts and Mary laughs.

Camilla goes back into the room and pulls Lissa by the keg. "Hey sleepyhead, get up we need to go down for dinner. The entire house awaits us!"

"Leave me alone. I don't want dinner..." Lisa mumbles turning to sleep even more comfortably on the large bed.

"No can't do! Get up!" Camilla yells and Lisa takes the pillow and places it against her dace so she doesn't hear Camilla's voice.

A wicked grin appears on Camilla's face as she gets the perfect idea of how to wake Lisa up. She goes to the bathroom to wash her face clean and then she takes a glass of water.

She returns to the room and starts sprinkling water on Lisa. The first splash of cold water gets to her cheeks And nose and she shrieks awake.

"Camilla!" Lisa yells jumping off the bed.

"Go to the bathroom! We need to go down for dinner!" Camilla says laughing her eyes out as she continued sprinkling water against her.

Lisa starts laughing as well as she runs to the bathroom for safety. She is fully awake and goes to wash her fake to clear away the rest of the sleep lines from her face.

She comes out a minute later and Camilla smiles at her. "Now, let's go see what they have planned for us, shall we?" She offers her hand to Lisa and she takes it with a smile.

"Are they going to be wearing dinner dresses?" Lisa asks Camilla as they walk to the dining hall.

"They wear it every night. It's like walking into a gala!" Camilla explains, throwing her hands around dramatically.

"Shouldn't we have done the same?" Lisa whispers as they are in front of the door already.

"That would kill the fun!" Camilla whispers back as the door opens in front of them.

Just like she told Lisa, Jessie is wearing a long dress made out of satin. The color is like liquid gold as it shines under the chandelier of the dining hall. Sandra isn't left out as she wears a sequence dress that sparkles everywhere, causing a lot of distraction in the hall.

"Did they perhaps escape from the sixties what's with all the dress-up?" Lisa whispers to Camilla and the latter tries to maintain a straight face as they pass the two drama queens on the table.

"Good evening everyone, " Camilla greets, flashing them a bright smile, before taking a seat closer to Peter.

"Good evening..." Lisa says as she makes a long dramatic courtesy.

"That wouldn't be necessary..." Camilla whispers to her ears as they seat on their chairs.

"Well, since we are shinning people with us, I think the courtesy came naturally," she replies and the both of them started snickering.

"May we share in your bickering?" Sandra drops her fork loudly onto her plate creating a cranking sound that echoes in the room.

Lisa and Camilla look up, starting around like two cute kids caught playing with what they are not supposed to.

"Good evening Camilla and Lisa. Hope you are well-rested?" Peter says completely ignoring Sandra's comment.

"Touché!" Lisa mumbles, smiling sweetly at Peter. Now she understood what Camilla meant when she said the house was like an island and they were two pirates —from the eighties.

"We are doing great," Lisa says louder for Peter to hear.

Peter heard even the ones she whispered to Camilla, his wolf ears permitted that and he snickered along with them which only angered Sandra and Jessie more.

Jessie kept scoffing and hissing as she ate but there was nothing she could do because Peter had already warned her to respect herself.

Mary and her team come in with the mean and they place the plates around for them to easily pick out. The look of the food alone has Lisa salivating. When was the last time she had this sort of meal?

"This is good. Did you cook it?" Lisa points a spoon at Jessie. Lisa is a troublemaker. She heard Jessie kissing and she had been looking for a way to get to her. So she asked the question.

Jessie with blue with anger instantly. "How dare you?" She snapped. "Do I look like a maid? Or a street rat? Why would I make means for you?"

Lisa shrugged, "the meal is good. You should be proud." She adds and Jessie's face morphed into an even bigger frown she looks like she would explode in anger.

"Peter! Please tell your guests to stop making such comments at Jessie!" Sandra snapped. For some reason, she hated Lisa just from first sight. The way Peter smiled whenever she did something silly was alarming. Peter could barely keep his eyes away from her.

"Am I being rude?" Lisa asks innocently. She knows exactly what she is doing and she is doing it on purpose. Vanilla has told her multiple times how Jessie tried to humiliate and expose her. Now, it is her turn to get humiliated.

"Peter!" Sandra yells, throwing her napkin on the table in anger.

Peter moves his eyes to Sandra and then back to Lisa but it softens drastically as it lands on Lisa and Sandra notices it.

"Let's have a peaceful meal. Jessie, I think Lisa only meant to compliment you. Don't take it to heart," Peter says and continues with his meal like nothing happened.
