Chapter 64

  The Date.

The ride to the restaurant is quite as Camilla and Ethan are both lost in their world. Camilla keeps chewing her bottom lip as she thinks about where Ethan is taking her to. Multiple questions fill her head as she considers what people will think seeing her with the handsome CEO Ethan Jadiel Peterson.

"They will surely think of me as a gold digger!" She scoffs under her breath as she adjusts in the seat.

Ethan glances at her, wondering what got her worked up.

"Is everything okay? We are almost at the place. I am sorry I didn't think of the traffic in this area..." Ethan says, apologizing for the little traffic they were stuck in. He thoughts she was mumbling because of the delay not knowing that she had other things bothering her.

"Huh?" She asks. She has been so into her head that she missed out on everything he said.

Ethan turns his head to properly look at her and he sees that she is genuinely confused. She didn't hear a thing he said.

"I am sorry for the delay. You must be hungry..." He repeats.

Camilla blinks her eyes and turns her attention back to the road. "No, I am not," she whispered as she starts playing with her fingers.

Ethan is lost in her body. Camilla is so beautiful. He can't even count the number of times he has mentioned it in his mind. Just staring at her alone, makes his manhood throb within his pants. He wants her so badly he will have blue balls if she ever rejected him. And then he will die of a heart attack.

"Won't you drive?" Camilla whispers tucking a strand of her red hair behind her ears.

It is not Ethan's turn to be shocked as he stares at her, she points a finger to the road and that's when he registers the blaring horns from the vehicles behind him.

The traffic had cleared up but he was lost in his daydream of Camilla.

He starts the car and they continue their journey. It doesn't take them long before Ethan is parking in front of a five-star restaurant. He parks the car and the valet boy comes to stand by his side to take the keys from him for proper parking.

"Wait where you are, " he whispers to Camilla, and like some powers, she stays glued to her chair.

He goes around the car, and opens her side of the door, offering his hand to her. Camilla takes his hand and he gently leads her out of the car.

As they walk to the restaurant, he throws the car keys to the valet boy and he continues to stroll with Camilla by his side.

Inside the waiter welcomes them, bowing respectfully.

"Welcome sir, " he says and Camilla is lost in the decor of the place.

There is a red carpet that covers the entire expanse of the restaurant floor. The next thing that catches Camilla's attention is the Chandelier, hanging at the center of the restaurant.

The light from it balanced on the silver chairs of the restaurant, bouncing and reflecting through the cutlery arranged beautifully on the tables. Flowers of various colors were arranged systematically in corners, creating a welcoming ambiance to the place.

Soft music plays in the background creating a romantic twist to the whole place.

"Do you like it?" Ethan asks. He is giddy like a schoolboy eager to please his female friend and she is blushing so much she can't find the right words to use.

She nods her head, pulling Ethan's hand closer to her.

The waiter leads them to their table which Ethan had already reserved. The menu is presented in front of them and Camilla goes through the dishes, all the names are strange ones she hasn't seen before. Her eyes sparkle when she sees chicken wings on one of the menus, she points at it and the waiter nods with a polite smile.

"What did you order?" Ethan asks her as he passes his menu to the waiter who bows again before scurrying away.

"I got something with chicken wings. I can't remember the exact name, but it's close to that..." Camilla says, scooting closer to her table.

Ethan smiles. "What if you don't like how it tastes?"

"You can never go wrong with chicken!" She announces beaming at Ethan.

It is true. One can never go wrong with anything that contains chicken in it.

"I see. I'll note that for my next outing." Ethan says with a smile.

Their meal soon arrives and just as Camilla had predicted, her meal is delicious. She takes her time to savor the taste, enjoying the hint of spices along with each bite. When she is done, the waiter pours them a glass of wine to take down their meal and Camilla is more than grateful for the wonderful experience.

She has never thought of coming to places like this to relax, except she wanted to steal from the patrons.

Thinking about her lifestyle makes her sad for it reminds her that she won't be enjoying this for too long. Sooner it later, Ethan will find out what she does and she will be thrown out of his life. Her heart squeezed within her chest and she quickly took a large gulp of her wine.

"If you are taking it so fast, you will get drunk quickly," Ethan says with a smile.

"Thanks, " she whispers, staring at her fingers. Whenever she is with Ethan, she becomes a blushing mess. She can't control her hormones as they fly all over the place.

"What does your father do for a living?" Ethan asks and she almost spills her drink.

"My father?" She stutters. "Well, he is fine. He is- em he is a businessman," she lies.

How is she supposed to tell Ethan that her father is sick? He will want to meet him and then he would want to know how she takes care of the bill?

  Oh goodness!

"I see... How about your mother?" Ethan asks another killing question as he gently sips his wine.

"Oh, she - she is dead."

"Oh, I am so sorry. I didn't know." Ethan excuses himself. He drops his drink on the table and reaches to hold her hands.

"Oh, she died a long time ago, you don't have to be sorry..." She stammers.

Her problem isn't questions about her mother. It is the ones that have to do with her father. Replying to them without saying what she does for a living is almost impossible. She will have to lie.

"Still, I am sorry. You must have been close, " Ethan says drawing circles on Camilla's hand.

"Yeah, we were..." She is on such an edge, that she doesn't even realize the tears that pool in her eyes.

Ethan stretches forward and wiped her tears with his handkerchief. "At least you have a daddy!" He says trying to cheer her mood.

"Yeah, I do, " she says sniffing away her tears. Her mother had been a really sweet person and she had hoped she would live a very long life so that they can be together. But the heavens had other plans and her mother got taken away from her.

"I want to meet him someday," Ethan blurts and Camilla feels like her heart will explode.

She blinks her eyes and looks up at his handsome face. What is she supposed to reply to that?

"Huh... Yeah, he will love to see you. May I use the restroom?" She squeaks.

"Oh, of course, I am right here..." Ethan says with a large smile.

He watches her leave and his smile slowly fades. He loves Camilla completely with the whole of his being. Yet, she seems to be hiding so many things from him. He is aware that she has a father but he just doesn't know where he stays. She says he is a businessman but that is not true. The man can't be a business manbusinessmanghter will be into pickpocketing.

Camilla scurried to the ladies and soon as she gets there she starts splashing water unto her face rapidly. What is she going to do?

If Ethan keeps asking questions about her father she will pass out in shock.

She will have to calm herself. She takes a stash of tissues and starts wiping her face clean. She came here to have fun and fun as what she will have. She places her hands on her chest and wills her heart to stop beating so fast.

She shouldn't care about what Ethan thinks of her. Nothing will come out of their relationship so there was no point trying to be all nice about it. She should just go with the flow and have fun.

"Go with the flow!" She tells herself.

Camilla adjusts her outfit and walks back out to where Ethan sits, waiting for her.

"Took you long enough," he says as she takes her seat, opposite him. "I thought you ran off." He jones.

"Why would I do that? Who will take all this fine wine in my place?" She replies, flipping her curls to the side. She is determined to have fun, nothing will ruin her day.

"Tell me about your childhood?" She asks Ethan. The best way to control a conversation is to start it. So before he starts asking questions about her past she will rather ask about his.

"Hmm, what can I say... I was a very stubborn child, " he replies. "I use to climb through those trees in the garden and disappear for days!"

"No way! Didn't you ever feel hungry?" Camilla asks with a smile on her face.

"I use to bribe the housekeeper..." He stickers and they both burst into laughter.

The rest of the evening goes according to Camilla's direction and she doesn't have to bother going through strange questions that she will prefer not to answer.

By the time they get home, Ethan gives her a quick peck on the head, keeping his silent wishes to himself.

Camilla is his mate, there is no need to rush to get into her mind. He will get her to spill the truth she has been hiding one way or the other.
