Chapter 67

  Executing the Plan.

As Camilla eats the sweet food Mary had made for them, she can't stop wishing she can run back into her room and enjoy a long nap. Last night when she went to see her dad, she cried a lot. She had cried because her life seemed to be getting messier and messier and her father isn't even bulging. He has refused to wake up forcing her to keep stealing to get him better. She spoke to him about Ethan again but this only made her cry even more.

  She wanted Ethan.

But she couldn't have him, because they were from different classes and she was a petty thief. Her lifestyle was getting in the way of them being together and the only way she can stop is if her father could be up and doing again. It has been months already yet, there is no change in his treatment.

If she stopped to steal then, she won't be able to pay for her dad's payment. On the other hand, if she continues stealing then she will get caught in a world far below Ethan and she will never be able to be with him.

Even as she eats, the thoughts fly into her head and the delicious food loses its taste in her mouth.

Camilla doesn't know what she wants to do. She can't choose between her father and Ethan, that is impossible.

"Camilla is something wrong? You have barely touched your meal, " Ethan says as he raises his head to Camilla.

"Oh, it's just a headache. It's been making me weak!" she says as she makes another effort into shoving the food into her mouth. This time she didn't even have to try too hard.

Ethan gets up from his seat and came to her side. "Should I call the doctor?" He asks with so much concern, that Camilla feels bad for lying. But a girl has to do what she can, to survive.

"No, I just need to sleep, that's all."

Ethan feels her forehead and checks her pale hands. Thankfully, her sober situation last night was still in her features, he believed straight Away.

"Okay, let me take you to your room. And I will still call the doctor thought. It might be something serious that we ate missing out." Ethan insists as he helps her to her feet.

Camilla leans her weight over vim and they both walk back to her room. The dinner table is silent as everyone except Sandra watches them leave. Everyone is concerned for Camila except her.

Maybe this will be the right time to talk to Peter about the situation. She finishes up her food and gets up from the chair.

"Excuse me, " she mumbles and Peter doesn't even pay her any attention. He continues eating and Sandra scoffs In her mind.

When she gets to her room she arranges her system and connects it with the printer. She prints out two pictures showing Camilla jumping out the window last night and how she opened the back gate to run off to wherever she went to.

Sandra is done with her piece of evidence, she sits on her bed and waits. She can't go to Peter while Anita is still sitting there, she will surely cause a lot of fuss. All she has to do is wait up for the girl to settle down for her siesta then she will go to Peter.

Camilla, on the other hand, is now in her room Ethan carefully tucks her in and she pretends to close her eyes to sleep.

Ethan takes a hold of her hand and clutches it. "Please, get well soon Camilla. I can't watch you like this, " he whispers placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

He then walks out of the room with his phone to his ears, as he calls the doctor. The accident happened weeks ago. Yet Camilla seems to keep having side effects.

  "Hello, doctor?" Ethan calls.

"Yes, Mr. Ethan, how is our patient doing?" The doctor as resulted into calling Camilla their patient due to the amount of concern Ethan kept showing.

"Oh, she is the reason I called doctor..."

"Is something wrong?" The doctor asks

"She keeps having this migraine occasionally, I wanted to know if it has anything to do with her old injuries or if it's just a coincidence?"

The doctor mumbles to himself as Ethan explains and he figured the man is probably jotting it down. When he is done, his voice clears up on the phone.

"Okay, since the migraines are occasionally, you need to study what she does. If she stresses her a lot, she is bound to have this episode, do you understand? "

"Yes, doctor, but what can I do? I can't just leave her in pain?" Ethan cries out.

"Just give her the pain meds I recommended and let her rest. She'll be fine in no time. You can also monitor what she does during the day and perhaps at night as well. She needs to be well-rested..."

"Thank you so much doctor, I will make sure she gets enough rest." Ethan ends the call and goes into his room. He will have to find a way to keep an eye on Camilla.

She needs to take her health condition more seriously than she was taking it. He will have to enforce a mandatory resting period for her.

Someone knocks at his door and before it even opens he knows it is Peter checking in on him.

"Ethan, are you okay? How is Camilla?" He asks as soon as the door flies open.

"I am fine. But she isn't..." Ethan responds.

"What happened to her? She was doing great yesterday?"

He steps into the room and joins him on the bed.

"Yeah, it is just a migraine. The doctor says she just to rest a lot and she'll be fine."

"But she does rest, doesn't she? Camilla sends the entire day and night in her room. The only time she went out was when you took her out!" Peter laments trying to think of a time Camilla was stressed beyond her capacity.

"It's okay. As I said, she is fine. She just needs to rest."

"Okay, no problem. max called, " Peter begins as he starts walking back to the door

"Did something happen?" Ethan demands. Ever since he returned from the town everything had been going smoothly for them. He would have calmed, but he wanted Max to take full control of the town himself.

"No, they are fine. He just wanted to check in on us as well." Peter says as he gets to the door. "Ethan, you should get some rest as well, you are starting to look Paler than Camilla herself."

Ethan smiles, nodding to his words. "I will rest Peter I will."

With that Peter walks out of the room and is about to go into the office when Sandra comes scurrying after him. He paused watching her with caution in his eyes.

Why is she coming to him, he wonders?

"Peter, can we talk, it's urgent!" She breathes.

Peter clicks his tongue but opens the door for her to step in and he follows after her

"What's the problem, Sandra?" He asks her.

She doesn't speak, she brings out the brown envelope in her hands and stretches it out to him.

"What is this?" Peter scoffed at her remembering the silly game she and Jessie had played.

"Please, Peter just open it. I was also skeptical when she sent it to me but when I opened it I couldn't believe it, I had to show you."

"Who sent it to you?" Peter already has an inkling as to who the person might be but he wanted Sandra to say it openly.

  "Jessica."

Peter clicks his tongue and walks to his chair refusing to take the pictures from Sandra. "I do not want anything that has to do with Jessie." He still feels angry that Jessie had ruined the chances of him and Lisa being in the same house.

"Look, I do not want to repeat the same mistake I made a few weeks ago that's why I am bringing this to you like the Beta to find a solution or to make meaning to it. Would you prefer I let her show it to everyone?"

Sandra is playing with his head and Peter knows it. Jessie can never bring something and Sandra will willingly accept it except if she had a profit to be made from it or it was her original idea.

"Sandra, please respect yourself and leave my office. I want nothing to do with you and your envelopes, please!" Peter snaps. There is no way Sandra will bring this kind of thing up without having a condition hidden behind it. She knows exactly what she is doing and Peter refuses to be a part of it.

"Please, Peter take a look at it. And if you find it useless and baseless, I swear to you, I will stop pestering you! I will even leave this house if you want!" She says biting her tongue.

Sandra is starting to run out of Patience as Peter continues to refuse to see whatever is in the envelope.

  "Please,e Peter!" She begs.

Peter raises his eyes and glares at her.

"...if I find it baseless, you will leave this house?"

Out of everything she said, this is the only point that made sense to him. If Sandra can leave the house then he will be free to start his relationship calmly with Lisa. She will have no reason to keep refusing him.

Sandra gulps down her fears and nods her head. "Yes, I promise to leave. Just check the envelope's content."

"Okay." Peter practically snatches the envelope in her hands and tears it open.

He is certain whatever she and Jessie have cooked up is baseless. It can never be true.

He brings out the pictures and he stares at them. The first doesn't start a part in him, for it is the back view of someone jumping out the window. It starts getting to him when the person gets to the back door and their red hair is caught in the midnight light.

This is Camilla he is looking at!
