CHAPTER 90

  Trusting The Beta.

Peter washed his face and picked up a fresh T-shirt. What Lisa had told him came as a shock to him. He never knew Camilla had a father. Since she barely spoke of him, he figured he was dead like her mother or nonexistent.

He took his car keys and walked out of the house. The guards opened the gates, wondering where their Beta was heading so early in the morning. But none dared to ask him.

As soon as Peter had eased his car out of the house, he zoomed off into the road and went straight to Lisa's place. He was there in less than fifteen minutes. He ran up the stairs and gave the door a sharp knock once he was at it.

  "Hello!" He called getting impatient.

Someone rapped at the door and Peter stepped back knowing that she was finally opening it for him.

"Peter," Lisa said giving him a quick hug.

He kissed her on the forehead and held her face. "What happened?" He whispered to her.

She looked down to her feet as she stepped away from him, "please follow me," she told Peter.

They walked into the apartment and there on the couch sat a red faced Camilla. "Peter," she greeted seeing him.

Peter walked to the couch opposite her and sat down as well. "So what is this I am hearing about you having a father?" Peter asked her, he tried his best to sound less judgemental and more accommodating.

Camilla sniffed and looked at her hands. "Well, I do have a father ..."

"Why didn't you ever mention it. Ethan would not like this Camilla. I thought you said your parents were dead?" Peter asked in an even voice.

Camilla shook her head and wiped her tears. "Only my mother died in the accident I told Ethan about it. But my dad, he survived." She stopped to sniffle and clean the tears from her eyes. Lisa stood behind her and rubbed her upper arms for comfort.

"He survived but, he has been in a coma ever since. I admitted him to the city hospital and I have been paying for his fees every week. I have never absconded with their money... But when I went there earlier together, I couldn't find him- and- and the doctors are saying there is nothing they can do. I don't know what they have done with him!" she cried out even louder.

Peter stayed quiet, letting her cry her pains out. Everything now made more sense in his head. They had a patient in the city hospital and it was Camilla's father. It was where Lisa went to when he first started stalking her and it was also where Camilla sneaked out of the house for.

Minutes passed and Peter only watched the two beautiful women in front of him. When Camilla had stopped crying, he asked her just one question.

"How much were the weekly fees?" He asked her. He knew she wasn't working anywhere. This was definitely why she stole. She did it to take care of her father!

"Five hundred thousand dollars, every week. And I have always paid for it... If I don't have money, Lisa pays ... I have never owed them! I pay my bills in good time every week!" Camilla cried out.

Camilla felt like Peter doubted her payment history. But she never ever failed to pay not even once!

But Peter asked for different reasons. For her to be paying that kind of amount without a job, it was a confirmation that Camilla was really a pickpocket but she did it for her sick father.

"Did you talk to the doctor in charge?" Peter asked them.

"The fool said he had nothing to tell us," Lisa hissed as she smoothened Camilla's hair.

Peter raised his eyes to her. "What?"

  "Exactly as you heard."

"So the hospital has lost a patient and they are not willing to take responsibility for their actions? That's absurd!" Peter seethed.

"I just want to be with my daddy! I don't care if he is in a coma for life, I just want to be able to hold him. I can't live without him!" Camilla cried hysterically.

"We want to GI to the police but they don't attend to us because we don't have money, can you please help us?" Lisa said, her fingers still in Camilla's red hair.

Peter felt like the situation seemed strange but he was determined to help them either way.

"Okay let me make some calls and see what we can do about it. In the meantime, Camilla tries to relax, we will find your father."

If Peter went to the police they would take it to the media since he was one of the top names in the country and in the end, Ethan was going to find out about it. He would have to infirm Ethan first, so he doesn't feel like Peter knew and kept it away from him.

Aside from that Peter had always known that Camilla didn't steal for the fun or the thrill. She had her reasons and now he knew, he had to tell Ethan.

"I have to go see some friends. Lisa, I will give you a call. Make sure you both get something to eat," He told them. He walked to where they sat and placed a kiss on Lisa's forehead. He then slipped his credit card into her hands so they could get whatever they wanted.

He got back to his car and drove to the estate. This was not a conversation they could hold on the phone, he had to see Ethan face to face for this.

He got to the estate and packed the car, it was already eight o'clock in the morning, so the entire house was probably awake by now.

Peter walked to Ethan's room and knocked. He stepped aside waiting for Ethan to respond from within the room but his voice came from behind him.

"Good morning Peter, searching for me?" He said and Peter turned around to see him.

"Oh, I thought you would be sleeping. Goof morning," Peter said.

"Ah, how can I sleep when the goddess gave me the strangest of mates. Can you believe she isn't in her room and her windows are open? Plus an envelope of money I purposely left on the ground last night is missing too. I am tired of trying to correct her, I don't even know if my plans will ever work, " Ethan lamented as he opened his bedroom door to step inside.

"You know that she- takes from you?" Peter said with hesitation. Ethan always defended Camilla, he was surprised that he had believed that Camilla took something from him.

"Long story my friend, tell me, why are you looking for me so early in the morning and where did you go earlier?" Ethan asked him.

Peter walked into the room after he and Ethan headed to the small bar by the side of his bed. He pulled a bottle of water and sat down.

"That's what I want to talk to you about. Lisa called and told me something I couldn't keep to myself..."

Ethan raised his brow as he gulped down his water. This must be interesting if Peter couldn't keep it.

"Camilla's father had gone missing from the hospital!" He said expecting to see a shock or surprise on Ethan's face, but he saw none.

  "You knew already?" Peter asked.

Ethan still carried a straight face and Peter understood that he must also know something about the fact that the father was missing.

"Did you take the man?" Peter asked him.

Ethan dropped the bottle of water he was drinking and sat to properly face him.

"Listen, I have been doing my research and I found out about everything. Camilla steals from me because she has to pay for her father's hospital bills. So I figured if I took care of him myself she won't need to do it anymore, just like you have done with Lisa."

Peter was quiet as his brain took in every word Ethan spoke.

"But she is completely devastated right now, don't you think you should tell her?" Peter said. He didn't see the point of making Camilla suffer when he could just tell her about her father's whereabouts.

"You don't get it, Peter, I want her to realize her wrongs and come clean to me. Then I will take her to her father. It's simple. All she has to do is come to me and tell me she had been the one taking my money and why she did it. And I will forgive her. It's that easy." He shrugged jumping to his bed.

Peter wiped a hand over his face in frustration. He felt like Ethan was bringing too hard on her.

"I am not being hard on her. I am only trying to make your future Luna a better person with a good character! Not a pickpocket!"

"But she had good reasons for going it!" Peyer defended.

"Good reasons?"Ethan asked sitting up from his bed. "Is there ever a good reason to do bad? Tell me, Peter, is there ever?"

Peter shook his head. "You should see her face mehn. She is in pain. Her father is everything to her, you have to tell her!"

"I am not telling her anything and neither are you, Peter!" Ethan growled.

Peyer stopped moving and gawked at him.

He clicked his tongue in irritation. "You don't really mean that do you?" He asked Ethan.

"I mean everything I am saying," Ethan said, dropping against the bed once more.

"There is no way she will know that she is supposed to come to you. Ethan come on, let me talk to her-"

Ethan raised his hand and stopped him from speaking more.

"I forbid you Peter as your Alpha! Do not tell her about the things we have discussed."

"But how is she going to ever come to you? " Peter cried out. Ethan was being unnecessarily stubborn for no reason. Thus was not how you trained a person into turning a new leaf.

"I have prayed to the goddess. Camilla will come into realization on her own."

  "Really?" Peter scoffed.

"Yes , really. Peter please I need to rest. My mate just stole from me and she isn't home. My wolf doesn't feel right." He mumbled under his breath.

Peter wanted to argue more but he knew that Ethan had already dismissed him. He was not going to convince him otherwise.

He walked out of the room and got out of his car. He got in and drove out of the estate, returning to Lisa's place.

He didn't even knock at the door before it flew open. "Did you get anything? Have you spoken to the police?" Lisa asked as she welcomed him from the door.

  Peter heaved a sigh.

"Come," he pulled her hands till they were standing outside the door. "How is she feeling now?" He asked raising his brows to the door.

"She is holding up a bit well. Did you talk to the police though?" Lisa inquired. She wanted to know if the police were already involved so they could go scream at that foolish doctor.

"Lisa," peter said holding her hands. "Ethan took her father."

Lisa's mouth opened and almost hit the floor in shock. "He did what?" She squeaked and Peter placed his long finger on her lips.

"Don't shout. But he knows everything. He knows about her father and he knows about the money and jewelry she had been taking into the house. He even knows that she lied about the memory loss as well."

"Oh my God!" Lisa exclaimed she was still in shock. This was Camilla's worst nightmare and it was slowly coming to life. "What does he want now? Does he want to imprison her?" She whispered.

"No. He wants her to apologize and admit all her wrongs-" Peter started to say and Lisa stopped him.

"Oh, that's easy! I'll go tell her to do that right away-" she was already moving when Peter pulled her back. "What?"

"You can't tell her. We can't tell her!"
