Fear & Love.
"Why can't we tell her?" Lisa frowned. This was the only way she could convince Camilla to go confess her sins to Ethan.
"He made me promise. I am on oath. I can't tell her," Peter said rubbing a hand through his hair.
Lisa placed her hand on her waist as she thought about it. "Okay, if we can't tell her the whole thing. How do we convince her to confess?"
"I was thinking you will figure that out, babe."
Lisa held her head and turned to the door. "Okay, I'll think of something, let's get back inside." Lisa held his hands and they walked into the house.
Camilla dropped the barely touch a slice of pizza in her hands as she turned to Peter. She got up and walked to him.
"Did you find out where he is?" She asked.
Peter scratched the back of his neck awkwardly and looked to Lisa for help.
Lisa understood that he needed her to help him out so she stepped forward. She held Camilla's hands and sat her down.
"Peter has made a discovering Camilla," she started. Peter furrowed his brows wondering what she wanted to say and his heart thumped as he feared she might mention the secret to Camilla.
But Lisa knew what she was doing.
"What did he find, Lisa? Did he find him? Is he alright?" Camilla asked her.
She had started thinking the negative. She was that close to just accepting that her father was dead already but she held on to a small slip of hope in her mind. She would not stop hoping and believing her father was not dead. He was alive somewhere and she would not give up on him.
"He hasn't found him but someone else knows where we can find him..." Lisa continued.
Peter looked at her with panic in his eyes but Lisa was in full control of the situation. She wouldn't do something that might put her love in danger. She understood that she had to protect his friendship with Ethan and at the same time help her friend get over the horrible situation that threatened to consume her sanity.
Camilla scooted to the edge of the seat and squeezed Lisa's hands. The silence and pauses in Lisa's statement were killing her. "Who knows where he is Lisa?" She cried out as a fresh streak of tears trickled down her face.
"Ethan."
As Lisa said it, both Peter and Camilla held their breaths in shock but for different reasons. Peter feared the worst might happen as Lisa started down that part. He made a mistake. He shouldn't have told her about it.
"Lisa!" Peter pleaded with his eyes and Lisa winked at him, an assurance that she knew what she was doing.
But as for Camilla, more tears fell on her face as she thought of the worst. If Ethan knew this, what would happen to her. She was completely ruined. That means he knew everything about her.
"How?" She choked out as her tremors made her shoulders shake with pain.
"No no!" Lisa said waving her hands in the air. "I know what you are thinking but he doesn't know those details. He only knows who took your dad and he can help you get to him. If only you can tell him the truth about you..."
Peter heaved a sigh of relief as Lisa changed the narrative. She was truly a smart woman and he was grateful he had her to himself.
"I should what?" Camilla choked. This was no good news. How was she supposed to tell Ethan that she stole from him? Because the station was going to slip into the ones they were surely going to have. He was going to ut if his life and she couldn't do that.
She wouldn't survive.
"Camilla, think about it. It is your daddy's life against the truth. Just tell him what he wants to hear and you move on with your life and get your daddy back!" Lisa tried to convince her.
Camilla pulled her hands from Lisa and got up. Lisa didn't understand. She wasn't getting it.
Things were no longer as simple as that. Ever since the incident with Anita Camilla had realized the feelings she felt towards Ethan were real. She cared about him and she wanted him to hold her again the way he did that day. She wanted him to pull her close to his body one more time so she could feel his hot breath on her skin.
They were already having disputes and invisible fights. She couldn't tell him a thing like this. It would ruin the only thing they have left. It would ruin everything.
"Camilla," peter said getting up to walk close to her. "Think about it, your father needs you. What if the place he is- isn't conducive. All you need to do is confess to him everything you've done and I am sure you can move on from there," Peter whispered behind her.
Camilla shook her head as her nose became blocked. They didn't understand.
"I can't!" She sobbed, hugging herself. "He would hate me and I won't be able to take that. It would be terrible. I can't do it." She whimpered her shoulders shaking with pain.
"So you will just leave your father where he is with strangers?" Lisa snapped.
She could not understand why Camilla was so stubborn. All she had to do was tell Ethan about her dad yet she made it a big deal and refused.
"What are you afraid of?" Lisa screamed. Camilla's father had become like a father to her too. She hated the fact that Camilla was refusing to obey the instructions she was giving to her so they could take her father.
"I am scared he will hate me! I don't want him to hate me!" Camilla admitted ruining herself to throw herself on the bed.
Lisa hissed and walked to where she was.
"How will he hate you? Camilla, we have done worst for daddy's health and you are worried about a small issue like this?" Lisa asked holding out Camilla's red hair away from her tear-soaked face.
"That's the problem, Lisa!" She turned to hiccup between her words. "That's the problem- we have- I have done so much for daddy and those things were not good or worthy deeds. They were terrible and shameful. How do I begin to open my mouth to even tell him things like that?" She screeched.
There was a large lump that had settled in her throat and it made it impossible for her to swallow. It was so painful, she was losing breath.
Peter held Lisa's shoulder and then looked up at him. He shook his head signaling her to keep quiet.
"I think we need to give her time to think. We have told you how you can get your father back. All you have to do is execute it and I promise you that Ethan will turn the world upside down to get him back for you..." Peter whispered gently to her.
Camilla hid her face between the pillows and cried even Harder. It was like she was already having a funeral for her father. How was she supposed to tell Ethan the things she had done?
Oh god! She cried in her heart.
Who even took her father and for what reasons? She didn't offend anybody, and neither did anyone even know about her father's existence! So who did it?
Maybe if she knew who had taken her father she could speak to them. She could beg them and do whatever it took for them to please tell her where they had kept him. He was a sick man who needed immense treatment. Keeping him without treatment could kill him!
She had to find who took him.
Camilla wiped her tears and turned to them.
"Peter, do you know who took him? I have no enemies and nobody even knows about my life so why would they take my father away?" She had tried to sound firm and in control but the more she spoke her voice broke.
"I don't know who took him, only Ethan does and refused to tell me until you spoke to him." Peter stared at her with pain in his eyes. He felt extremely bad for her but what could he do? Only she could help herself right now.
"But we can zero down the people likely to do this." She sat up straight on the bed and held out her hands to Lisa. "Babe, you are always so good at things like this, please do something." She pleaded.
Lisa shook her head and got up from the bed shaking her head. This plan of hers was not going to work because it wasn't even true, to begin with. How was she going to do this now?
"Lisa, please," Camilla got up from the bed and went to snatch papers from the table at the far end of the room. A new surge of energy came to her and she was determined to find another solution to her problems.
"Listen, we can start with Jessie. She hates me enough to try and take my father away from me. Remember she knew that I used to sneak out. She might have trailed after me and found out where my father was and took him away?"
Peter shook his head.
"Camilla, don't you think that was the first place I checked? I have used the best of lie detectors and I have confirmed that it wasn't Jessie." He lied, having no other choice.
"Besides, if it were Jessie, by now she would have gone to Ethan and told him about everything. But Ethan doesn't know a thing. He is shocked to the bone and he is in pain. He would only listen to you," Peter said giving himself a mental pat on the back for thinking up something this quickly.
Lisa squeezed his hands discreetly as a way of telling him, he did well for what he had said had gone into Camilla's head.
Camilla looked derailed. Her red hair was all over the place and she looked like a witch from the old movies with her swollen eyes and red eyeballs.
"Wait, how about Sandra? She could have done it too?" She said hopefully.
But Peter shook his head again. "No, Sandra didn't do it either. She had been in the house for the past two days and everyone confirmed to me that she didn't step out. Aside from that, she is also a proud person, a discovery as huge as this, she would go straight to Ethan so that he could give her my position in our- our business," he said. He didn't want to disclose to her the ranks in their pack yet, because Ethan hadn't told her yet.
"But what about Anita! She is probably mad at me too for-" Camilla started to say but Lisa stopped her.
"No Camilla stop doing this to yourself! You can't have such thoughts about everyone. If we continue this way the list is going to be endless! Do you know how many people want to be in a relationship with Ethan? " Lisa snapped. She had to step in because it was looking like Peter was running out of excuses.
"They all want him and he chose you to take to that red carpet," Lisa hated to bring back the memories of that night to Camilla but she had no choice. She had to do whatever it took for Camilla to do the right thing, that was what friendship represented.
"All those women and ladies who saw your video would want to do everything to make you sad and make Ethan feel too ashamed to be with you! How do you think he got to know about the one who got your father?" She demanded angrily.
From the stories she was making, Lisa was finally able to cook up a reason for why Ethan knew about her father's abduction without actually telling her about it.
"How?" Camilla asked in a small voice.
