CHAPTER 94

  Broken & Rejected.

Camilla took a quick shower and cleaned her swollen face. She chose a light green dress and wore it. She let her hair fall loosely around her shoulders just like Ethan liked it. She applied a little gloss on her lips and stepped out of her room. She was determined to make Ethan listen to her whether he wanted to or not.

She walked to his room and was about to knock when she saw Mary approach.

"Good morning Mary, " she greeted cheerfully.

Mary smiled sweetly at her and held her cheeks lovingly. "You look wonderful my dear. How are you?"

"I am feeling much better," Camilla said brightly. She was not going to sulk around in a corner. She would continue fighting for his attention.

Mary saw that her eyes were going to the door and she smiled at her once again. "You are going to see Sir Ethan?"

Camilla blushed she looked down to her feet and smiled. "Yes, I want to go talk to him, right now," she said happily but Mary held her back.

"I am sorry. He isn't in, he left the house quite early this morning for business. Why don't you go downstairs for breakfast.?He should be back before lunch," Mary assured her.

Camilla was disappointed but she used her bright smile to cover it up. She would not give up yet. One way or another she was going to get her opportunity and talk to him.

"Okay, I'll wait for him then." She proceeded to the dining all for breakfast. The rest of the house was already seated, except Ethan. Sandra and Peter were already waiting for the meal to be served.

  "Good morning!" She greeted them.

Sandra waved her hand unceremoniously and Peter responded with a smile. "How are you, Camilla. You look cheerful what are you planning on doing?!" He said and Camilla laughed.

"I want to change tactics that's what I am doing," she said still laughing.

Soon the meal was ready and the maids brought it in for them to enjoy themselves.

Camilla wasn't hungry but she also didn't want to bring up the sick vibe on the table. She wasn't just having an appetite, so she only took a little piece of the bread and tried having a taste of the tea.

"What about your friend, Lisa?" Sandra suddenly asked.

Camilla and Peter turned their eyes to her immediately. Why would Sandra ask after Lisa?

"Is there a problem?" Camilla tried to sound polite because one could never be so kind when it came to Sandra.

Sandra rolled her eyes and shoved a spoonful of spaghetti into her mouth.

"There is no actual problem. I am just bored and tired and I thought you would want to talk about your friend, isn't that what you and Peter spend most of your time talking about? Or is there another gist?" Sandra asked.

Peter narrowed his eyes at her. "What are you talking about?" He asked her.

She scoffed and got up from the chair.

"I have decided to return home for there is no place for me right here. Lemme just go home and forget about you and everybody." She moved to her room, looking like a drunkard. She wasn't even wearing her usual fancy outfits. She was putting on simple jeans and a T-shirt like a normal person and her hair wasn't extravagantly styled.

"Is she okay?" Camilla whispered. She had been indoors, for the most part, she hadn't noticed any change in anybody.

"I think she is just depressed and is giving up on life. let me GI talk to her, " Peter said as he wiped his mouth.

He got up and walked after her. He got to her room and found out that she was packing her bags. She saw him coming and sniffed away her tears.

"What?" She snapped at him. "Are you here to mock me? Just make it quick okay?" She said as she continued throwing her large ball dresses into her bag like a lunatic.

Peter could have just let her be. But he wasn't an ungrateful person. There was a time, she was the only friend he knew. She stood by him even if it wasn't a real relationship, she was still there. Now that she was suddenly acting like a different specimen, he had to speak to her.

"Sandra, what's wrong with you? Are you okay? Did something happen?" Peter asked folding his hands across his chest. He rested his back on the door and watched her.

"Yes, everything is wrong!" Sandra started and then she broke down into tears. "I am wrong! I am useless and I am cruel! My father used to say this but I never believed him. I thought I could have my way in every situation. But look at how that got me?" She said looking down at herself.

Peter stayed quiet. This was more like a confession, so he gave her time to let out her sins.

"I never loved you Peter and... Now that you have managed to find your mate, I am not happy for you. I am jealous and I want to keep hurting not just her but myself as well!" She said falling to the ground.

"I am a cruel person, and I don't deserve to be cared for," She sobbed.

"I have led Jessie to the wrong side and now she hates me. And- and that was one human I liked. But I played her in her games, now she hates me. She doesn't even want to stand me!" She pulled at her hair and sobbed silently on the floor.

Peter just stood watching. He has known all of these before he was just finding out about it. Sandra was truly cruel and his heart would be glad if this was some kind of confession.

She laid on the floor for a while before getting up again. She wiped her tears and zipped her large bags one after the other.

"That's why, I have decided, that I need to go away from everyone. Go somewhere new and start my life. I don't have to hang around here... There is no life here anymore..." She started dragging the bags outside and Peter didn't even feel the need to help her.

This was her penance she would have to suffer for it till the very end. He didn't have to help her in any way If she wanted to leave, then it was better. The goddess had finally answered his prayers as well.

He walked after her and saw how she threw the bags into the boot of her car. Even the guards just watched. Everyone was wary of her none wanted to come close to her.

She finished and closed down the boot with a loud bang. She then stood gazing at the house one last time. Tears spilled down her face as she thought of what would have been if she had been a better person.

She had always wanted to stay in the Alpha's estate all her life that was why she tried to infiltrate their life but Ethan didn't even spare her a second glance, his mind, and soul were never on her.

That was when she decided to smoothly divert her attention to Peter and when she got him, she became Oliver twist Oliver wanted more. She forgot her first goal and looked for ways to take power away from the person she claimed to love. Now she had listed everything.

It was true that wanting to gain it all always led to losing it all.

She sniffed her tears away and proceeded to reenter the car. She started the engine and drove out of the estate to never return.

Ethan's car sped in at that instant and he wondered where Sandra was headed. He moved into the large compound and picked his usual spot to park his car. There was no written notice on the spot that it was for him but everyone knew not to park their car on that side... An unspoken rule.

He stepped down from the car and walked into the house. He hoped Camilla wouldn't be anywhere close because he never actually wanted to see her. His heart might not be able to stay strong and he needed to stay strong. He pulled the front doors open and walked straight to his office taking a deep breath. At least he didn't see her.

Last night after she left, his wolf made him go after her and when I got there she was sleeping but her mind was filled with ways by wish she planned on ambushing him. The first on her list was to come to his room very early in the morning before he stepped out for breakfast. So to counter that, he went to eat outside the house. He got up as early as possible and went out.

Now he was back, he knew that her next move would be during lunch he would just lock himself in his office until dinner time. He would not be giving her a chance to meet with him. She had messed up too much to be forgiven so easily.

Not long after he sat on the seat in his office that a knock came on the door. "Yes" he grunted and the door opened slightly but it was only Mary.

"Sir, will you like me to bring in your breakfast?" She asked him.

"No, I have already eaten. Just bring me lunch when IIT is ready," He said dropping his eyes to the files on the table. There was not much because of these last days that he had been sulking by himself over Camilla and it had helped him learn a few tricks. He focused more on his work.

His phone rang out and it was his vampire friend Marcus that was calling.

"Marcus," Ethan replied with a raised brow. Marcus only called when there was a new party in town and he wanted to get invited through Ethan's influence or maybe he was the one organizing the party.

"My friend, there is a party!" He said and Ethan rolled his eyes.

"I am busy Marcus, I can't make it." Ethan simply said.

Marcus sensed the hesitation in his voice and he wondered what was wrong with Ethan. He wasn't Luke the Ethan of before. He no longer partied and played around with women like they used to do in the past.

"Ethan, you act like a married man these days. What's your secret? Come on tell me..." Marcus laughed through the phone.

"Go find your mate Marcus, that's my secret," Ethan told him. Even if the mate in question wasn't exactly living up to his standard, they were at least getting somewhere.

"Ahaha!" Marcus laughed. "Okay, fine I get it, you don't want to go but I have this new friend of mine that is hot but the organizer forgot to invite him. Do you mind putting in a word for him?" Marcus asked and Ethan smiled for the first time in days.

"Fine. Send me the details and I'll do the needful."

"You are such a lifesaver, my friend, thank you!" Marcus said and Ethan ended the call.

Just as he was dropping the call, a soft knock came on the door and it made his heart squeeze within itself. It was Camilla.

Before he could respond, she pushed the door open and she was about to step in when Ethan growled at her.

"Stop right there!" He said and Camilla stood rooted by the door

She wore a beautiful green dress that he had gotten for her. She looked extremely beautiful even with her swollen eyes. But he couldn't give in to her yet.

"What do you want? Can't you see that I am busy? Don't you have any manners?" He snapped at her and Camilla felt her confidence level drop to the lowest level.

"I wanted- I thought-" a tear slipped down her cheeks and Ethan hissed.

If she didn't leave hr was going to fall for those tears. He got up from his seat and came to where she stood, he held her by the arm and walked her roughly out of the door.

"I am busy. Please do not ever open my door without me asking you to. Now leave!" He barked. He didn't even wait for her response before he walked back into his office and clicked the door shut.
