Chapter 27

  Alexey

I opened my eyes to blinding lights.

Is he drunk? Why the fuck is he shining the light directly in my eyes?

“I’m sorry sir, but this is not the parking area you should leave your vehicle, this parking lot belongs to this boutique and I would like you to please drive ahead to the right parking lot,” the man pointed the torch in my face even more. He was dressed as a police officer and his breath smelt like whiskey. He let go of my arm and turned off the torch.

“Is that why you decided to randomly grip my arm?” I was crossed.

“I’m sorry, it was a mistake,” he apologized choking me with his whiskey breath

“A mistake? Or it’s attributed to the fact that you are drinking on duty, are you even a real police officer?” I asked looking at him in annoyance and skepticism.

  “I am-”

“-Where is the god damn parking lot here?” I asked interrupting him. I had no interest in what he was going to say in reply.

He pointed a few feet ahead of me, there were other vehicles parked there too. Why the fuck should two different establishments not have a fucking visible boundary? Why are their car parks even close? Who the fuck built this place?

I drove into the parking lot of the club and parked my mustang on an empty parking space.

I let out a deep breath and approached the bouncer who immediately recognized me and let me in; one of the perks of being a handsome and famous millionaire. I walked in to a lit room, beautiful neon lights swirled round the roof of the club and everything complimented each other, giving the room a light and edgy feel. I went to the bar section and sat down to order a drink.

  Irena

I am glad that I didn’t decide to stay home, this place was lit. The music was good and the mood was very elevating. I sat on one of the many comfort chairs and watched a particular lady that caught my attention. She was dancing with another lady, laughing and whispering in each other’s ears. As if she could feel my stare, she turned around and saw me. I think I remember why she looked familiar, she was the lady from the uber ride, she was the uber driver! Fuck, I took her number but never tried to reach her.

She walked towards me confidently and I liked it. “we meet again,” she smiled and halted in front of me. She was wearing a black leather skirt, a sexy fish net top with just black tapes covering her nipples and a pair of black heeled boots.

“I forgot to call,” I recalled staring at her, she had long blonde hair and beautiful green eyes a shade darker than mine.

“I know,” she replied stretching her arm towards me for a handshake. “I’m Eve.”

I shook her hands. “I am Irena,”

“Can I sit?” she asked gesturing to the empty space next to me where a man had once been on but I chased him off because why not?

  I nodded. “please do,”

She smelt like roses, it was nice and relieving.

“So why are you in this side of town?” Eve asked looking at me.

“Nothing, I just wanted to catch some fun,” I responded moving my head to the beat of the music.

“So, how did your time at the amusement park go that day?” Eve inquired.

“It was fine, I and my friend had fun,” I answered

“That’s great,” she beamed. “so tell me,” she crossed her legs. “why didn’t you call?”

I sighed “I’m a very busy woman, I barely have time to do anything that isn’t work-related,” I responded moving my head to the beat of the song blaring out from the club’s speakers.

“I see,” she nodded “so you want to catch some fun yeah?” she asked grabbing my hands and standing up, pulling me along with her.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked cautiously.

“Nowhere,” she squealed halting in the middle of the dance floor “can you dance?” she inquired beaming. Is she always this excited?

  “Yeah I can,” I responded.

  “Then we dance!” she declared.

I laughed. “alright then hyper one.” Eve laughed and we started dancing. She happened to be a very good dancer too. Twenty minutes dancing, she proclaimed that she was tired and wanted a drink.

We got to the bar. “I don’t want anything fancy, do you have any good cocktails?” Eve asked the waiter.

“We have sex on the beach, it might just suit your taste,” the bartender answered.

“That will do just fine,” she replied.

“I’ll have a Bloody Mary, thank you,” I informed. I’d pick a bloody Mary over sex on the beach anytime. We went back to the former place we sat to enjoy our drinks. I wish Magnus was here because right now I’m bored out of my mind. Even went on telling me stuffs about her day and herself and the girl she was with before she saw me; information that I had no interest in listening to.

“I need some fresh air,” I informed standing up.

“Do you want me to come along?” Eve asked attempting to stand up.

“No please,” I declined quickly. “I’ll be back in a few,” I added. She looked hurt but I didn’t care.

It’s too soon to be clingy, I expect her to be sensible enough to know that there’s nothing offensive about what I said. I got out of the club and walked towards the back of the building. It was quiet with only a few people and it’s just what I wanted. I brought out a pack of cigarettes from my purse and picked out a cigarette stick for much-needed smoke. I took out my phone and check my chats, the only message I bothered to read was one of Magnus reminding me to have fun and fuck someone’s son. I laughed and put my phone back in my bag before deciding to let my thoughts run wild.

We still haven’t gotten any information on Fabian's whereabouts and I found it frustrating. All useful records of him are wiped out like he never existed. I took in a long drag of nicotine and slowly exhaled. The council meeting would be held soon and I don’t want the vampire population thinking the vampire Queen is weak, letting herself get shot by silver bullets from a human. Words have been spread and there’s nothing I can do to control the thoughts of them.

I took the last drag of the cigarette. Smoking had always been one thing that helps me calm down. I came here to have fun, but now I’m bored out of it mind and wish I had stayed back home and get high or something. Or maybe I should have gone to Sodom’s city from the start.

  Alexey

Now I don’t believe in fate or destiny or whatever, but this is starting to get ridiculous. Why is it that the more I try to avoid this woman, the more find myself right back in the same place as her, it’s like a labyrinth with her, an inescapable labyrinth, it’s driving me insane, and the insanity continues because there she is, the very woman I came here to avoid with hopes of forgetting even, there she is at the back of the club, with her crimson hair glowing in the night light, impossible to miss. She’s smoking a cigarette, ironic how people come out outback for fresh air only to pollute it with cigarettes, but that’s beside the point, Irena; the point right now is Irena and how I can’t get away from her, I’m starting to think I never want to, what is that dress? Black like the night’s sky, dotted with its own set of stars, glitters? Sequins? I don’t know but it is a very revealing gown. It has her back exposed to just above her waistline, and what a sight it is, and those silver heels they complimented the literary stars on her dress well.

“I must say quite the ensemble you’ve put together Irena,” she turned abruptly, she must have recognized my voice, of course she did, its hard to forget. “Are you stalking me?” she questioned in the most distasteful manner, is she still upset about the other night? That’s just silly, I’m the one who should be upset, she knows I want her, but she never gives me a chance. She turned down my request for a date just so she could fuck someone else for pay.

“Like that could ever happen, I could argue that you’re the one stalking me!” I snapped back aggressive as always, not one to miss a step. She rolled her eyes.

“Genius and it makes sense that I-” she gestured, pointing at herself, index finger to chest. “-the one stalking you, would turn around to find you ogling at me from behind, yes?”

I’ll admit I was stunned by that question but I refuse to be outplayed by this woman, this woman with her gorgeous red hair, her perfect skin, and her amazing lips. Her lips, it was as though they always beckoned on me to taste them, feel them against mine. I took a step forward, and another, and two more. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had a woman after the night I spent with her, maybe it’s the fact that his lips looked plumper than the last time I saw them? Maybe it’s because of the alcohol running in my system, or maybe it’s just that the desire I feel for her was overwhelming me, but I found myself kissing her. I pulled away and watched for her reaction. I expected a shove, insults, maybe a slap on the face, but what I didn’t expect was her pulling me back, pulling me closer and kissing me as intensely as I had kissed her. We shared the most passionate kiss, it was magnificent, I felt my hairs stand on end each strand as electricity coursed through my body. Damn I want this woman, what does she do to me, how does she do it?

While we kissed, I felt a sharp sting as she bit my lower lip and the metallic taste of blood hit my tongue. I pulled away and for a split second I could have sworn I noticed something.

  “Are those fangs?”
