BLOOD
Irena's POV
The tension between the two had been going on for so long that strangers would think they were unaware of each other's existence.
Magnus had watched his father with a very familiar feeling in his eyes. The sad feeling of longing, I have been his close friend and I could tell that the feeling is evident from the way he stared at his father in longing, definitely wishing that things would be as they were. But oh well, we can't always control everything, can we?
Munster didn't even flinch under Magnus's gaze. I admire it. I could swear it's a skill or talent; how well he pretended that his son didn't exist, for centuries.

“I want this to be over as soon as possible, and then I would want an explanation about who you people are, are you aliens, mutated people, are you from area 51?”
“We would like an answer to our question,” Countess Shiva replied.
I looked at Pompeii and I could tell he committed the crime he was being accused of and wasn’t remorseful he was smirking.
“There would be nothing amusing when I find out that you killed that girl,” I seethed. Rage was boiling inside me and I wanted to avenge the death of the girl, my fists were clenching and unclenching, but I have to calm down. I have to listen to the details first.
I looked back at Detective Bob, “please, we would like to hear you, and the questions you have to ask, we’ll give you answers,”
He still looked like he doesn’t believe me, but he decided to go ahead, “the case became cold for months, hit a fucking dead end. She got buried a week after her body was found, and her family moved out of the country, the death of their daughter was too much to bear. There was almost nothing to do with the autopsy report, there had been no fingerprints on her body, and the photos of the place where her body was found, until a month ago when I decided to check the photos once more, and then I noticed something, it was the littlest thing, very insignificant but came to be the most useful link we had,” he paused and took another gulp of his energy drink, I could feel the people around me get impatient and annoyed, but I was ready to wait, to let him take his time.
“it was a flower,” now that sounded funny and insignificant indeed, a flower? Now I’m even more interested.
“a flower?!” Homer asked in disbelief, “that is ridiculous, do you think we asked for a joke human?” he thundered.
“And Homer, would it kill you to be patient?” Sometimes this seems to be a gathering of ancient vampires with no wisdom.
“It was a Rhodiola Rosea,” Bob continued, not seeming to be disturbed by Homer’s comment, which I greatly appreciated.
“How was this flower the link between the case and the suspect?” I asked him. What proof can a flower bring?
“Caught in May’s hair was the petal of this flower. I noticed it as I closely looked at the photos of the area her body was found in. Now this flower is really rare and can be found here in Russia, but still, it’s rare and it wasn’t even found in the trenches or surrounding areas where her body was found. This was after a thorough inspection of course, by me and my colleagues. I decided to check places where this flower was grown all over this city and my search led me to Mr. Pompeii's mansion. My team and I have been tracking and investigating the people in the building and although it seems futile, we've come up with results linking Mr. Pompeii to the death of the girl. We had gotten hackers to get security footage on the activities that went on in the mansion in the month when the girl was declared missing and a recording was found of a girl wearing the same outfit that May had worn the day she was abducted. The girl that appeared to be May was being dragged out of a vehicle late in the evening and taken into the building, and two days later a body was taken out of the building in the late hours of the night, which made our suspicions grow even more. It's the same way with the vehicle used which was a mistake they made on their part. The van they had used wasn't common in these parts of Russia and with CCTV, we were able to trace the vehicle's movement that night and despite the coverage some of the highway paths give, we were able to trace the vehicle's as it went into the highways leading to the trenches where her body was later found." He took a long hard drink of water and everyone was watching him with different reactions on their faces. Some looked like they were impressed, some had no expression on their face and some still looked like they had more questions.
I turned to Pompeii, "well there you have it, your mistakes got you, and it's going to be your downfall," he didn't look faltered at all, but well I won't blame him he was a man of authority and power and always needed to stand tall, but that's his business, I don't care and I never did.
He knows the law and he broke it.
"Well, the final question, how did you manage to track him here?" Mr. Munster asked.
" It honestly wasn't easy, we tried arresting Mr. Pompeii while he was at his mansion, but he was nowhere to be found and the attendants and security personnel refused to tell us anything-" 'and they couldn't think of calling me!' I heard Pompeii think to himself. I was getting even more riled up, but I had to hold myself back and be patient. "-refusing to give up, by some means I would not disclose, I manage to get into the mansion and place a tracking device on two of his cars, hoping to one day be able to track his movements and arrest him at the slightest opportunity we get. That's how we ended up in this museum, appearing to be closed to everyone, but happened to be having a full-blown meeting inside and being surrounded by guards." he finally concluded, finishing the bottle of water at the same time. "Now I have to arrest this man, this is my first big case at the job, and cracking this case when no one could help my life, especially after I bring this criminal to justice," he pointed at Pompeii and he was angry.
"You said your name is Bob, but I would like to know your full name," I requested. He definitely wasn't just Bob, that was a nickname, plus he was Russian, no Russian man would just be named Bob, even though his English doesn't sound like that of the typical Russian.
"I am Inspector Robert Shevchenko," he replied.
"And you're new at this job, correct?"
"Yes," he nodded.
"Well, the rules you humans have don't work with us," my voice was gentle, as I wanted him to carefully listen to me and understand what I'm saying or what I'm trying to say.
"What do you mean by you humans, are you going to tell me how you made my man die without moving your lips or any part of your body at all?" He sounded scared and from his thoughts, I could tell that he was scared about what he'll tell his superiors and if he'll live to report what he had seen. He feared that he would get killed.
"Listen, we aren't humans as you can see or tell. We are something more powerful-" the rest of the council began muttering among themselves about me revealing their nature, but I ignored them, I had a plan. "-we are vampires, and giving you details about us is totally unnecessary now, but what you should know is that the rules are different here,"
He had the most baffled expression on his face. His face had turned ash and I found it pretty amusing.
"What do you mean when you say the rules don't apply to your kind?" He inquired after he had gotten control of himself.
"We vampires deal with our problems ourselves. Pompeii actually is responsible for the death of May and there is a rule here among us vampires. This is a vampire council meeting and we make the rules, and one rule we made centuries ago is that any vampire responsible for the death of a human, when it's not as a result of self-defense, would be executed immediately." Detective Bob's eyes widened in horror.
" Another thirty minutes has passed, you should make that call," I informed him, turning away from him and facing the rest of the council members sorted around me.
"I'll need some privacy," he requested, looking at everyone warily.
"You can step out and make your call if it'll make you comfortable enough. Most of us do not care about your conversation," I replied pointing at the door.
" Thanks," he took out his phone and walked out.
"You asked why I didn't put him to sleep with the others, didn't you all?" I asked, looking around.
A few nodded and the rest remained silent.
"All of you here are older than me, I expect wisdom that comes with age and experience. I'm not the leader of this council but your illogical actions made me make decisions for everyone. If he had gone down with the rest, we wouldn't have had these details to be sure that Pompeii is responsible for the death of the girl but now we do and we know what legal action to take, following the rules. I told him about who we are; yes but I plan on erasing his memory of that knowledge. I'm the vampire queen of Ursula, my clan had been known to be the implementers of Justice and as the vampire council, it was our duty to do so as we no longer have castles and kingdoms to protect. You old people act more mortal than immortal sometimes."
Countess Shiva sighed, " Pompe-"
She was interrupted by a strong and piercing scream right there in the room.
