Chapter SIXTY-FOUR

  Italian themed

  Irena's POV

Carlos came in ten minutes later.

"Where is she?" He asked. He was holding a cup of coffee. What vampire drinks coffee at night?

"She is in one of the rooms, and she is sleeping," I replied.

"Want some?" Magnus asked, offering him a cigarette stick.

He declined, "So is she alright? You called me and you sounded like you needed to see me urgently, although I was already on my way to your place, my laptop is in your car,"

Oh fuck, that's true. "So how did you get here?" Magnus asked.

  "Took a taxi,"

"She is alright. Yeah, I was going to ask if you asked Lesley about August's whereabouts," If Lesley had asked her to do the job, then she should definitely know about her location.

"No, I didn't. Lesley was in a meeting," he looked at us quizzically.

Oh, I was already having different thoughts about it.

"She called after the meeting though, but you were already on your way here with August,"

" Alright, I thought she was a suspect because she has been aware of August's whereabouts," I explained. " I have to know about everything, no one can be trusted,"

  " I understand madam,"

"Has the scene been cleared? I don't want anything that could cause problems,"

He nodded, " yes. August's vehicle has been taken back to the club and the body has been cremated,"

Perfect. I felt bad that this was happening, covering the death of an innocent human. I hope to end this whole thing as soon as possible.

"Did you guys find any evidence?"

"Sadly, we found nothing that could give us a lead,"

  I sighed tiredly. Of course

These things happen and we get no evidence or lead. Just like it had happened with Fabian Ruiz.

"We'll keep searching though," he added, in a way reminding me to not give up.

  "Alright, thank you, Carlos,"

"I have to go now Madam, I and Marylyn are having a date night tonight," Marylyn has been his long-time girlfriend. She is a vampire also and she is such a sweet girl. A total physical opposite of Carlos, small and adorable.

"Alright then, the key to the car is at the garage as usual. I had forgotten about the laptop,"

He smiled, "see you tomorrow, would you need me driving you?"

I shook my head, " no love. Go enjoy your date and tell Marylyn I said hi,"

  " Alright boss, good night,"

" Goodnight," Although Carlos drives me from time to time, he doesn't live at my place because he and Marylyn live together.

Magnus yawned, "I think I'll be staying here tonight," he checked the time, " it's late and I'm lazy,"

"When are you not feeling lazy?" I stood up, walking away.

"I need to take a fucking bath,"

" And I need me some wine," Magnus said, waltzing to the wine bar.

"Ask Fray to prepare something for us to eat, will you? I don't think I want anything on his menu tonight,"

" How bout we go out instead, huhn?" He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

"And eat where? Do you have a place in mind?"

"I saw a restaurant nearby, what's it called Eatalian? Yeah, we could go there,"

" You're in the mood for Italian?" I asked.

  He shrugged, " I don't mind,"

I don't always go out to eat, I always eat food made by my cook or I order something.

"Alright then, I'll take my bath and get ready,"

" Alright, I'll be downstairs waiting for you,"

I peeped at August, and I saw that she was still asleep. Poor thing had been through a lot today, she needed as much sleep as she could get.

As soon as I got into my room, I took off my clothes and walked into the shower. Eager to take my bath and let the warm water wash away the filth of today's events. I plan to take a moment to live in my own place, not worry about sexy billionaire boys and enemies conspiring against me. It's as if I get to deal with one every fucking week, my enemies are cowardly fucks that enjoy a game of chase. Once I get them, it'll be over.

I sighed, realizing that I'm doing something that I just said I'm avoiding. I continued with my bath, thinking of everything else but my problems. And I definitely thought more of a handsome Chestnut-haired bad boy, against myself.

We got to the restaurant and thankfully, it wasn't crowded.

We found a spot that would allow us some privacy.

"Alright, thankfully, we get to have some privacy here," Magnus said as he took a seat.

" Yeah I guess," I sat on the chair opposite him. It was a table for two.

After we had taken our seats, a waiter walked up to us to take our order.

"Good evening, welcome to Eatalian, I would be taking your order," he sounded polite and he looked young. The badge on his shirt read Tom.

I and Magnus picked up the menu, "I have a white bean crostini with anchovy and lemon salsa for starter," Magnus replied and the waiter looked at me.

Oh yeah, it was my turn. "I'll have the Gnudi with fried sage, hazelnuts, and erm Jerusalem artichoke crisps,"

  Tom left with our orders.

" How come we've never been here?" Magnus asked, looking around in admiration.

I shrugged, " we don't always eat out now, do we?"

He hummed, "yeah that's true. If the food is good, then I'll be coming here a lot,"

He seemed excited, " why the fuck do you seem excited?"

"I don't know, I just hungry is all,"

Tom soon came back with our food.

"Here's your white bean crostini with anchovy and lemon salsa," he said, placing Magnus' food in front of him.

" And here is your Gnudi with fried sage, hazelnuts, and Jerusalem artichoke crisps," he placed my food in front of me.

" Thank you," I replied, already itching to have a taste.

" I'll be back in a few minutes to take orders for this main course, do enjoy." He informed us before walking away.

I and Magnus began eating immediately and it was absolutely delicious.

"This is good," Magnus complimented, moaning and covering his mouth with the back of his palm.

  I nodded, agreeing with him.

We were done with the starters and ready to place orders for our main course before the waiter came back.

"Did you enjoy it?" Tom asked, smiling, looking at us.

I nodded, "it was delicious and I'm ready to order for the main course,"

" Alright, what would you like to have?"

" I'll be having Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese," I replied, not even looking at the menu. I've been craving for that. I could ask Fray to make the dish, but since I'm out here, I guess I could just save him the stress and order for it.

"And you, sir?" He asked Magnus.

"Urm Tagliatelle Al Tartufo," he replied.

We both could speak fluent Italian and so it sounded very natural when we called out the names of the pasta dishes.

  "And for drinks?"

"We'll have a bottle of red wine," Magnus quickly replied, on our behalf. Or maybe he quickly replied because he didn't want to hear me say water.

  Tom nodded and left.

"Didn't you have wine at my place while you waited for me to take my bath?" I questioned, staring daggers at him.

He laughed nervously, " there is nothing like too much wine,"

I rolled my eyes, "don't get drunk though. While we're here, I plan on us trying to figure out who would could be behind all this nonsense happening,"

" Alright, alright. I don't plan to drink the bottle of wine myself," he said pouting.

" I know, I'm just letting you know," I was feeling riled up as I thought of the stupid things that have been happening.

"But I would like to enjoy my dinner first before I rack my brain," his condition made me smile.

" Yeah, I know and I agree with you,"

We talked about random things before Tom came back with our food.

It smelt divine and it looked divine too.

We dove in immediately, enjoying the taste of the food and resuming our random conversations.

Apparently, Magnus no longer spoke to Petrulli. I was very surprised that he had given up, but then I think it is for the best. He could not force things that can't happen to happen and he should not waste his time trying to do so. He would just end up embarrassing himself and getting insulted and hurt, although there was barely anything or anyone that could make Magnus feel insulted or embarrassed, except his father.

We enjoyed our dinner and at the second glass of wine, Magnus was already feeling tipsy, so I had to take the bottle out of his arms and keep it closer to myself. I needed him sober for the conversation we were going to have. We were going to travel back in time mentally.

"Alright," I brought out a notepad from my bag and placed it on the table. "Let's begin,"
