Jake.
I opened my eyes and as my vision adjusted with time, the ceiling of my bedroom came into focus. My limbs feel heavy. I must have been out for a while, I thought dully, and relaxed a bit, feeling the pull of sleep. That was, until I had remembered the events that took place previously.
My wife definitely knew what she was doing, appearing naked before me in my room. She had been masterful in working us both up, pleasing me with her mouth and her core.
I definitely should have known better; she only ever thinks about sex, after all. And in some way, the sex might have been good, to say the least, but she was not the person I wanted in my bed, and she would never be. It was Carlisle who had that honor, not this cunning and perpetually seductive woman I didn’t love.
A wave of anger suddenly filled me, and I jolted up, looking around my bed. The room was quiet, and my wife was naked on the bed beside me. It was clear, though, from the way the sheets were rumpled, and the state we both were in, that we had sex. She had clearly succeeded in her seduction of me.
To say I was angry with my wife was saying the least. I was angry with myself as well, however. How could I not have the strength to resist her? Was she so powerful that I, her husband, the King, could not take her to heel whenever she tried to do things like this?
With a frown on my face, and an angry expletive slipping from my lips, I jumped from the bed and began to get dressed, immediately. She should not wake up now, and find me here in this state with her. The process of getting my clothes on my body was made easier with the help of my magic, and afterwards, I looked at the sleeping body of my wife with a sneer, waving my hand at her form. My magic teleports her to her room. She will be surprised when she wakes up. I chuckle wickedly, moving towards the only goal I had in mind.
Picking the magical mirror up with the greatest care, I look into it, my eyes flashing red.
Let me see Carlisle again, I thought, feeling the deep yearning I had for her to awaken once more. Let me see my future bride and Queen before me.
But, that yearning quickly turned to another bout of anger when I spotted Damon showing in the mirror. In his arms was Carlisle, whose lips were locked with his. They were kissing, deeply and passionately.
I let out a furious roar, lashing out my magic at a side of the walls. The objects it came in contact with flew, bursting into pieces before my eyes. But it wasn’t enough. I sent out another wave of my magic again, and this time, it shattered a few lights in the room. The place shook, and I let out another guttural shout again, feeling my anger intensify.
I looked into the magic mirror, gritting my teeth at the sight of the two still locking lips and curled around each other in an embrace.
Damon, I thought with venom. How dare you kiss my Carlisle?
I used my magic swiftly, teleporting myself out of my room, and into the penthouse that the two were at.
I managed to get there just in time to see Damon leave Carlisle’s room. He stopped when he saw me, and I could see his eyes widen a bit with shock and surprise, then my name left his lips in a growl.
“Jake,” his voice was tight and gravelly. “What the hell are you doing here?”
I give him a malicious smirk in return, raising my hand in preparation to attack him, “Getting my bride. What do you think, Damon?” I put a bite to his name as I spit it out in that mocking tone of mine. It angered him, clearly, because I saw him clench his fist as if he wanted to punch me. Let him try then, as if I could not tear him into a million pieces, I thought daringly.
“Carlisle is not yours to have,” Damon replied to me.
“Neither is she yours to claim, Alpha,” I chuckle, taking steps towards him as he still stands between me and the door that leads to Carlisle. “So, move aside, or I will end you. And it will definitely not be a hard task for me, wolf. I can assure you of that. ”
Damon squared his shoulders, clearly not going to take my word for it and step aside. Shame. I did not wish to fight with him this time.
“You will not come near my mate, or I will be the one to end you Jake,” he warned. “That is a threat, not a joke. Remember that,” he spat out the last word like it was a curse word.
I grit my teeth in impatience, and shook my head at him., trying to calm myself down from the anger I felt. Stubborn and pig-headed wolf.
“I see. And what have you done to earn the right to call her your mate, hmm?” I sneered, tilted my head at his look, “I’ll make you a deal, Damon. How about a bet?”
“I don’t make bets with people like you, Jake. Now get out or else-”
“You don’t have a choice, Damon,” I crossed my arms, tense. “You do want to defend your mate, right? Or did you think there would not be competition for my future bride?”
“She is not your bride. She is my mate, Jake,” Damon snarled, taking threatening steps towards me even as I stood watching him mockingly. He spotted the flares of my magic on my body, which made him seemingly think better of charging at me. “Hiding behind your magic again?”
“I could say the same for you, Alpha,” I taunted him back, and he flinched. “You need her to properly accept you as your mate, yes? What a waste of time,” I chuckled, watching his face darken. “Now, the terms of the bet must be stated, yes?”
“Name them.”
“We fight now, with everything that we have, Damon. Whoever wins gets to have her.”
“Fine,” he growled out, and took on a pose I knew meant he was about to charge at me. seeing this action of his, I quietly readied my magic, twirling it about in the palms of my hands and began to float off the ground.
The fight began so quickly, Damon advanced on me with sharpened claws and teeth, ready to bite off any part of me that he came into contact with.
In turn, I whirled my magic at him, aiming to destroy him in every way.
Luckily for me, I was in top form, and Damon had been weakened from the events of before.
I aimed a blow at his chest, sending a wave of magic through it.
The blow hit right where it was meant to, and it knocked his breath away. Damon hit the floor, fully transforming back to his human form and began wheezing on the floor. I grinned at his fallen form, relishing in the path now laid before me; the path to my victory and my obtaining of Carlisle was imminent and inevitable now.
But that was not all.
I floated over to where he had fallen, right beside the stairs. I had half a mind to push him down it, but shook my head. I had a much better plan after all. And that plan would ensure that Damon would finally be aware of who was better at everything than he was – myself, of course.
With a twist of my hand outstretched towards him, my magic still left over from the blow I gave him began to press inwards, doing some serious damage to Damon’s lungs. He began to cough in earnest, and I pressed down a little more until I saw the spots of blood that he was coughing out onto the floor.
The battle was now over, and I was the clear winner.
I chuckled at the suddenly weak Alpha at my feet, who groaned and tried against all odds to catch his breath. I wormed my magic through his lungs and began to crush his windpipe. All the remaining strength he seemed to still possess at that point, left his body, and he collapsed upon the floor, his hand flying to his throat as he surely felt the phantom hand on his throat.
“I win,” I ground out with a triumphant smile still on my face, and floated over to the door. With a carefree wave of my hand, the door was opened, and I went in to carry my prize, my Queen, from the room.
With her safely tucked into my arms, I restrained myself from doing anything more to her here, and I left the room, smirking at Damon who gave nothing but grunts and other protesting noises in between his coughs and wheezing.
Silly werewolf.
“You have lost, Damon,” I announced. “Accept your fate now. Carlisle is mine now,” I finished.
With that, I waved my hand, and my magic began to transport myself and Carlisle in my arms, to my home, and her new abode.
I heard Damon groan out painfully as we left, trying and failing to get back on his feet.
This is goodbye, I thought, beginning to laugh. My laughter increased until we faded away from the penthouse, to appear in my home at last.
?
?
DAMON.
No.
I coughed out, still trying to catch my breath after Jake had used his magic on me. specks of blood dropping on the floor filled my vision as I kept coughing.
I heard it when Jake finally left, with my mate on his arm. I could hear the echoes of his laughter, taunting me as he took Carlisle and teleported away.
The moment they left the penthouse, the pressure on my windpipe reduced, and I no longer coughed out blood. I stood up slowly on somewhat unsteady feet, whipping my head around me as I tried to comprehend what had just happened.
The place was empty and quiet. There was no sign of Carlisle or Jake’s presence. Both of them were gone.
Jake had taken Carlisle away. And I could not do anything to stop him, no matter how hard I tried.
I did not know when I let out a howl-like scream that reverberated through the whole penthouse. I felt pain at the loss of my mate once more.
The emptiness I felt due to the loss of her was like a void that threatened to swallow me whole, and take everything I was with it.
I saw red, and my voice echoed through the walls of the house, bouncing off the walls and filling the air.
When I was done screaming until my voice was hoarse, I breathed in and out, my chest heaving as I tried to think properly. It took a lot of effort to do so, but I managed it.
Jake had caused this, I thought, morosely, pacing up and down the place where him and I had fought only moments ago. He had taken Carlisle, my mate, my love, away from me. He must have known I was weakened from before, and aimed to strike me. Once he had hit a blow, then he would have been the winner of this challenge no matter what else happened.
I was such a fool to believe that it wouldn’t have gone any other way. Not with Jake. He was a trickster at best, and one of the worst enemies to have at worst.
I was such a fool!
I punched the wall over and over again, feeling the ground shake with each punch as I tried to let out the feelings of hurt and anger I carried.
By the time I finished, there were holes in the wall, and I was left kneeling and panting, and my heart was wounded. In that empty house, with no one there, I was left alone.
