CHAPTER 98.

  EMILY.

Unleashing blue flame from my fists, I threw it at some dark creatures with big heads, long fangs and claws, long tanned tails and huge gigantic wings with silver blades at its edges. One of the creatures roared at me as the fire blasted it hard which caused it to crash heavily on the floor. The other one seeing this roared out flame which I was able to dodge even though the impact pushed me against the wall of the training hall. I stared at the creatures and controlled a great deal of fire at one of the creatures which the creature blocked with its huge wings.

The creatures flew toward my direction and used its claws to slash me on my cheek. I wasn't fast enough to dodge its claws punch which caused me to hit my back on the wall. Seeing this is an opportunity, they flew toward my direction with their gnashing teeth sounding loudly with an echoing. I simply smiled and staggered back to feet with my eyes turning red bloodshot. I roared out and released a large and heavy wave which blasted the creatures into various directions.

I weaved through the first attack, making use of my flexibility to dodge the first beast that came at me. They moved like shadows as I dodged them. I was surprised at their speed while they struck. If not as trained as I was, I would have succumbed to them.

I simultaneously dodged one which came at me from the left and another which struck downwards, before moving steps back, away from the reach of all of them.

They were already too much to handle, and adding their speed and agility made it even worse. I knew that I could not stay dodging them forever. I would be doomed if I stayed on the defensive for too long. It was time to get on the offensive.

I closed my eyes and focused on my magic, calling on the power inside of me to materialize my weapon.

  “Scaldare” I whispered the spell.

As soon as I heard them attack I could feel it materialize in my hand. I opened my eyes to see one attacking me from the side. I quickly swiped my sword in its direction, from the wild scream I heard; I had managed to injure it.

I saw the one which attacked go backwards with a whimper and looked around, seeing the other beasts staying in place as I circled on my spot, a sword of flames I had created in my hand . I could see their wariness and felt hope rise in me.

It was indeed a good fighting training but I knew how dangerous it was. I was no doubt going to face difficulties along my path and this was it. But then again, I will do anything to successfully succeed in my plans.

And not to mention, that I was no ordinary mage. I was Queen Sandra, a powerful magic user. I will not let dark beasts overpower me.

I could sense when their determination came up again when they were ready and willing to take the strike once more. I could feel the anticipation in me as they prepared to strike. I was already making an inventory of all the combat spells I knew.

  I took a deep breath.

  And they struck once again.

The first beast I dodged, the second one I could feel behind me I quickly turned around and sliced, injuring it.

I managed to nick the third one which retreated right after. But I couldn’t see the attack of two of the other shadows until my magic senses warned me.

I turned around at the alarm bells ringing in my head to see not one but two beasts staring at me, with their claws ready to attack. Panic reached me as they were too close for comfort.

In order to escape, I darted to the left and managed to avoid one attack. The other attack I wasn’t so lucky for. Its claw managed to graze my leg, ripping the leather pants I had worn.

I looked down at the wound, seeing through the darkened; luckily it was just a faint scratch.

But it could have been worse I thought with dread. If I had made one misstep or not turned around in time, I would have already been nothing but mangled flesh.

That wouldn’t do. I thought to myself as I grasped my fire sword tightly. I had to be more careful.

One of the beasts which had tried to attack earlier rushed towards me. I quickly said the first spell I could think of. Suddenly it had stopped and looked at me fearfully as it was frozen under my spell.

I didn’t have any time to be smug as the next set of beasts came barreling from the side. I looked to see their growl as the multitude of red eyes doused in black shadows came towards me. I brandished my fiery blade and swiped towards them.

I dodged the next attack which came towards me and effectively gave a fatal stab to the one coming forward, making it whine as it turned to ash.

There was a brush of wing and alert, I quickly darted down as a claw came swiping to the side, aiming for my neck. Closing my eyes I whispered another spell, to call on the power of the earth. Despite the trees and animals being imbued in dark energy, the soil always remained the same, neutral and loyal to no one but its nature. This made it the perfect weapon.

To my plea, the boulders and rocks began to rise at command lifting them up. I threw a big boulder to the side, effectively slamming into three beasts whilst I dodged the one which kept coming forward to swipe at me.

“Foolish creature.” I thought to myself before I ducked under its attack and stabbed it in its lower region. The beast let out an unsightly screech before bursting into ashes.

I went to the next one which seemed smarter, it dodged my next attack before striking, slicing a line into my arm with its claws. I ignored my wounds and used the opportunity to give the final blow, making it turn to ashes. There was no time to spare as the moment I turned around there came another one ready to attack.

No matter how much I fought, more always seemed to keep coming. I looked around, lightly panting from the exhaustion I felt. Everything which surrounded me was shadows, all big, all dominating with their bloodthirsty red and yellow eyes glinting at me. I could see the glee as they growled. They were probably waiting for me to get exhausted until I cave and give up. But there was not a chance of doing that. I was powerful, and I still had a lot of fight left in me.

Bringing my flame sword up as I formed a stance, I grinned wickedly at the creature

  “Bring it on.”

The essence of time seemed moot as I fought on and on. The beasts seemed endless as I killed them. Any one I killed emerged with two more, and their masses did not make it easy as it was difficult to dodge while they attacked all at once. It was tiring but I continued to kill them all in multitudes.

I was not left unscathed though as they took every chance to attack me. My cape was now severely torn and dirty, my entire body was also littered with cuts and bruises. My leg got injured and in the process it hurt to stand. My adrenaline was waning and I felt myself getting more and more exhausted as time went by.

But after the number of beasts I had fought, the beasts had decreased. No more were the multitude of shadows and they had stopped coming. Now the beasts were limited and every kill was more and more satisfying as they came less and less. Finally after my struggles, I could see an end to the darkness.

I swiped my blade to scorch one which tried to envelop me from above, and using my telekinetic powers to gather five more to join together, unable to move which I quickly finished off with my sword.

Sweat beaded my forehead which I had no time to remove when another one came to attack, I quickly finished off that one and sent a pile of rocks to hit the others.

Narrowly dodging the claws of one of the beasts, I suffered a wound on my elbow. I quickly eliminated that one with a spell. Having enough of the training, I waved my hand and they all shredded into pieces which caused an outburst of green liquid like blood all over the wall.

I wiped the brisk of sweat on my face and adjusted my dress before walking out of the training room even though it doesn't seem to be training. I made the creatures and beasts to be very strong and vicious because I'm becoming old and I have to be making use of my power before it dies down to my old age. I casted a quick and short spell, the claw marks and wound on my body healed at a very fast pace. I decided to take a walk to the library.

Getting to the library, the door opened automatically as I got closer to it. It closed back itself as I walked into the large library of mine.

The library was filled with a lot of shelves stocked and loaded with magical spells and history books of different categories. I walked toward a particular shelf which had a lot of magical and spell books in it. I ran my hand through the books staring at the titles of the books, looking for a suitable book with nice content. I grabbed an old book on the shelf which seemed to catch my attention, and cleared the dust on it.

I snapped my fingers and a chair appeared in my front. I sat on it and crossed my legs against each other. I opened the book cover and flipped the book pages into the first chapter. Reading the first chapter, I fell in love with the characters and the settings of the book. It is indeed a nice and intriguing book. I suddenly stopped and removed my gaze from the book as the scent of someone hitted my nose even though I don't know the person. I casted a spell which opened the door magically as a knock landed at the door. An official guard who delivers messages to the royals, he bowed down his head in respect.

"My Queen, I have brought a message to you" I nodded my head signifying that he should go on with it.

"My Queen, the other kingdoms are present in the throne room waiting for you. This is the message I had for you from the council official" I nodded and dismissed him.

"Thanks for the message, you can take your leave"he bowed his head before leaving the library. But what could be the reason why they called for this impromptu meeting. I hope it isn't about Carlisle, my daughter. It must be the reason why they are here to have a meeting with me. They had been here to ask for the reason why my daughter Carlisle is yet to give birth to a child which we will use as our pawn and dangerous weapon on the planet Earth. I have to do something about it.

I stood up from the chair and disappeared into thin air, appearing in my chamber. I pulled off my clothes, put on flip flops and walked into the bathroom with my hair floating behind my back magically. I switched on the shower. I ran my hand through my long hair as water flowed down to my face.

I brushed my teeth before switching it off and shoved myself into the jacuzzi tub which had been filled with warm water. I grab a fragrance soap and scrub my body for a while before rinsing my body. I stood up from the jacuzzi with water dripping from my body, reached for a white towel beside me and wrapped it around my waist together with my chest region, walked out of the bathroom with a huff sound. I walked toward the wardrobe at the left side of my direction, pulled it open and brought out a nice golden robe with wine traces at its edge. I slammed the door shut and put on the clothes which fitted me perfectly with my feminine figure visible. Even though I'm becoming old I still have the female killer shapes and curves. Funny tho.

Summoning my golden staff, I grabbed it midway as it flew toward my direction with an instant pace. The door opened itself magically and the guard at the doorstep bowed his head a little before slamming the door shut even though he did it silently. He collected the golden staff gently from my hand as I stretched it at him. Getting to the throne room, he opened the door and stamped the staff on the floor announcing my arrival for the present guests from the mighty kingdom. I walked into the throne room with my hand on my long robe which was drawing on the tiled floor. I walked toward the golden throne out of the thrones in the throne room. The female Queen of witch sat on the silver throne while the male king trolls sat on a bronze throne.

"It is my pleasure to have you here. You're welcome. Once again you are welcome"

"You are also happy and glad that you honored our impromptu meeting which we had called concerning you"

"Who am I to be angry with you? You don't have any problem, there must be a reason why you had gathered here so can I know the reason why you called me for such an impromptu meeting?"I asked when I had already known the reason why they were here.

"Well, Queen of the guardian. We had an agreement but it seem you aren't going with your words because there isn't changes"

"What do you mean?"I asked, even though I already knew where she was driving.

"You should have understood what I meant. Well, if you day you don't understand. Have you forgotten that your child Carlisle is yet to give birth for the Alpha, for Jake? You have to find something to do about it because you know that the time is fast approaching,"the witch said even though her voice seemed to sound cold.

"I don't have much to say because it seems it is obvious that we are going to lose the battle if you don't do or act about this thing" the male king of troll's stated , etched with venom.

"And I think there is an instant solution to it because it would be fruitless assembly together without saying advice to ourselves. Well, I think that Jake, whom you are manipulating to mate with Carlisle, is not capable enough so you are the one to decide who you are going to choose. Hope you would adhere to the advice?" She is making a sense and a point here because I can vividly remember how Jake went to an old wizard house just to make Carlisle love him wholeheartedly.

"You have to find something to do about it"

"Okay thanks I would get back to you people very soon so you have to be rest assured that nothing is going to happen to you"

"Okay do as you wish just make sure you adhere to your promise"I nodded and stood up from my golden throne. Thinking of who I would manipulate that is capable of making love to my daughter Carlisle. I ran my hand through my long silk white hair, really frustrated. I looked up immediately as something struck my mind. Why can't I make use of Jake's elder brother Xavier? It seems to be a very good idea because Xavier seems to be more experienced than Jake and should be able to find his way to my daughter. If he can't, then I would have to help him through even though I know he would be capable.

I really felt sad that I'm taking such a step against my daughter.
