My ears were still ringing from the explosion as Xavier and I slowly got to our feet. The acrid smell of smoke and burning gasoline filled the air, and I could feel small cuts on my arms from the flying debris.

"Are you hurt?" Xavier asked urgently, his hands running over my face and arms, checking for injuries.
