Ana was waiting at the bus stop, looking at the business card in her hand with the name Carlos Decker, Zero One on it.
A blue bus, number C-30, arrived. Ana sighed and stood up, stepping onto the bus as it stopped in front of the station. This bus was heading into downtown Necity, a city that never slept. Ana saw girls her age on the bus. They were in groups, dressed in trendy clothes. They seemed to be college students on their way to class.
Ana felt a pang of sadness looking at them. They were probably the same age as her, but their fate was better because they could go to college. Ana, on the other hand, had to do a dirty job to help her family.
The bus she was on stopped at a station after thirty minutes. Ana got off and walked towards an elite residential area not far from the stop. Ana entered the area and gasped in awe at the luxurious houses.
"I’m crazy to come here," Ana muttered. She was looking for the address on the back of Carlos's business card. She had already called the number on it, and they told her to come to Carlos's house.
After walking for a while, maybe about twenty minutes, Ana found the address. She couldn't stop staring at the house she was about to enter.
"He lives here?" Ana was amazed and couldn't believe it.
Ana walked up to the gate. A man in an all-black uniform was guarding it.
"Excuse me. I have an appointment with Mr. Carlos Decker. My name is Anastasia Baker," Ana said to the man. He looked like a security guard. His body was very muscular and intimidating.
The man glanced at Ana, looking her up and down. "Wait a moment," the guard said.
He pressed something behind his ear. He then spoke about Ana's arrival. Ana was surprised; the security at Carlos's house was so tight.
"Miss," the guard called out.
"Yeah. I'm here," Ana replied.
"Come in." The guard opened the door. But before Ana could step inside, the guard checked her with a detector. He also asked for Ana's ID. After all the protocols were done, Ana was allowed to enter.
Ana walked toward the magnificent house. Ana was confused. A man as rich as Carlos, why would he need to go to a brothel? So many girls would be willing to be with him.
"Welcome, Miss Anastasia," a man in a gray suit said. He smiled warmly at Ana. "I'm Wendy Portman. I'm Mr. Decker's secretary and right-hand man. He's been waiting for you, Miss."
"Hi," Ana said. She was relieved to meet someone friendly. She was scared of Carlos, especially after seeing the pistol he had in his pants yesterday.
"Please, I'll show you the way, Miss." Wendy held Ana's hand. She was still in awe of the house.
They went inside. Ana couldn't stop admiring the house. Everything inside was so classy, the interior, the ornaments, and the atmosphere.
"Does he live alone?" Ana muttered.
"I can hear you, Miss. If you have any questions, just ask me. Don't assume things on your own, or you'll make a mistake," Wendy said.
Ana immediately went quiet. She didn't dare to make another sound. "Sorry."
"He lives alone, Miss," Wendy replied. "That's why he needs a companion."
They entered a large room. Carlos was busy checking a pistol. Ana was shocked. Why was Carlos holding a pistol? He also seemed to be smoking a cigarette. Ugh, this man was so sexy, but it would be better without the pistol.
"Mr. Carlos Decker. Miss Anastasia has arrived," Wendy said.
Carlos looked over. His expression was the same as before. This was what scared Ana. This man was completely unpredictable. Who was he? An eccentric businessman? What did he want from Ana?
"Sit," Carlos said. He then stood up. "Wendy, get my guest some refreshments." Carlos approached Ana, still with the pistol in his hand.
"Yes, sir," Wendy replied. He immediately left the room.
Ana couldn't take her eyes off the pistol in Carlos's hand. She was suddenly terrified, even though she desperately needed the money.
"You finally came. I thought you wouldn't. Zack didn't tell me anything. I was surprised when you called my secretary," Carlos said.
If she didn't need the money, Ana would never have come. She wanted to know what Carlos wanted.
"What do you want, sir?" Ana asked. "You wanted me to come to your luxurious home."
Carlos sat next to Ana. The scent of expensive cologne filled Ana's nose. Suddenly, the image of Carlos's sexy body appeared in Ana's mind.
"I like that you don't beat around the bush. Let's get straight to it. I want you to be my personal woman," Carlos said.
"Personal woman?" Ana didn't understand. "Like a secretary or an assistant?"
"You don't need to act like my secretary. I just need you in my bed. Whenever and wherever I call you," Carlos said.
Ana felt this was weird. Carlos wanted Ana to serve him personally. But yesterday, they didn't even get to that point.
"I don't get it." Ana shook her head. "You only want me in bed? You could just go to the brothel and choose any woman you want..."
"No questions." Carlos suddenly cut her off. He even clearly showed the pistol in his hand. Ana wanted to move away, but her fear was greater than her courage. "I want you. I felt a different sensation when we were together yesterday. You distracted me, Ana."
Ana tried to stay calm. She was sure Carlos wasn't serious with the pistol.
"I will treat you well. I'll give you anything you need. Money, a house, whatever. But you have to obey every order I give you," Carlos said.
"You want to make me a slave?" Ana replied.
"I want you to be my girl," Carlos said.
"Does that mean you're asking me on a date?" Ana asked.
Carlos suddenly burst out laughing. Ana was briefly worried that Carlos might accidentally pull the trigger on the pistol. Her mind was racing, trying to decide whether to think about the pistol or Carlos's offer.
"Why are you laughing? Is this funny?" Ana asked.
"Yeah, it's hilarious. I'm Carlos Decker. There are thousands of women lining up to be my girlfriend. I'm not asking a prostitute out on a date. I just want your body, Ana."
Carlos's intense gaze pierced Ana's mind. Why did Carlos's request seem so crazy?
"One million dollars," Carlos said. "I will send that amount of money to your account. You can buy a house or anything you want. But you have to serve me every time I call you. You're not allowed to go back to work at the Lotus House. You will only be mine."
Ana's heart pounded when she heard the number one million dollars. It was a massive amount. The exact amount to pay off her mother's debt to Hero.
Becoming Carlos's personal prostitute. That wasn't a difficult thing. Ana was willing to work at the Lotus House with all sorts of men. She just needed to serve Carlos.
"Okay," Ana replied. She had to save her sister, no matter what. "I agree."
