As I led Ashina out of the car and into the apartment complex, I could sense her reluctance. She scanned our surroundings cautiously, her eyes darting back and forth. "Where is this?" she asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

I knew she wasn't fond of me, but I enjoyed teasing her anyway. "Ah, my secret lair," I said, trying to sound mysterious.

Ashina's eyes narrowed. "Daniel, I don't have time for your games. What do you want?"
