While resting in my chambers, I couldn't help but think of Daniel's words.

"You don't need to get angry at her; I'm the one who persuaded her to come oversee my trade for more soldiers. You need more men to wield these weapons, so these are your men, and I will supervise." He protected me even though we had a deal; he never spoke of it. He protected me from Alpha Nathan and his rants about insecurity.
