I woke up in Noah’s room, the soft morning light slipping through the small window. For a few seconds, I didn’t know where I was. The clean walls and the quiet air were so different from the damp, crowded cell I had shared with Lora and her friends. Then it hit me—I wasn’t in the labour room. Panic rose in my chest.
