The moment I peeked through the blinds and saw them, my whole body went cold.

It was my dad. And Jaxon’s mom. Both stepping out of the car, pulling luggage from the trunk.

I gasped, spun around, and hissed, “Jaxon, it’s them!”

His eyes widened. “Shit.”

“Exactly,” I snapped, grabbing the nearest pillow to cover myself. “Why are they back so fast? They didn’t even tell us…”
