The room was still dim when my eyes opened.

I didn’t know what time it was.

I didn’t even move at first.

Because Jaxon was still wrapped around me.

His arm was hooked under my chest, holding me exactly where I’d fallen asleep — pressed into him, my back against his chest, one of his legs tangled with mine. His breath warmed the back of my neck, slow and steady, and for a second… I forgot why the morning mattered.
