I was shocked to see the entire passageway in an uproar, guards clashing with men dressed in black, and I immediately understood what was going on.

We were under attack.

I ran out of the room, not able to think, only knowing I needed to get to Eldric no matter what. When the palace guards saw me, they panicked and made a fuss.
