The wizard Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim was born on 11 November 1493 in the tiny mage village of Egg, Switzerland. Philippus was the child of a mixed marriage; his German father was a mage who worked as a magical and mundane physician, while his mundane mother - who died in childbirth - was Swiss.
