When I heard Vincenzo’s voice calling out to me, something inside me twisted. I didn’t want to leave him. Even though I had lost my memories, I could feel a connection to him that made me want to stay. The panic of the moment snapped at me, urging me to choose safety over fear. I was terrified, but a part of me knew I might be safe with him.
“Vincenzo!” I shouted, my heart racing. I took a step back toward him, wanting to reach his side.
“I don’t want to go!”
“Emily, you have to trust me!” he called out, his voice filled with urgency. I could see the tension in his eyes, and it made me want to run to him even more.
But before I could reach him, Maria lunged at me. I felt her hands grab my shoulders, and in an instant, she knocked me down. The world spun as I hit the ground, my vision going dark.
When I finally opened my eyes again, I found myself on a soft bed, the sheets cool against my skin. I blinked, trying to clear my head. Confusion washed over me as I looked around, and then I realized I was in a luxurious room. The walls were adorned with rich colors, and the furniture looked expensive.
“Where am I?” I murmured, trying to sit up. That’s when I noticed I wasn’t alone. Vincenzo was sitting beside me, his strong arms wrapped protectively around me.
“Emily,” he said softly, relief flooding his voice. “You’re safe.”
I stared at him, my heart racing. How could a man be this handsome? His features were sharp, his jawline strong, and those red eyes there was something captivating about them. “What?
"What happened?” I asked, my voice shaky.
“You were almost taken,” he explained, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “I couldn’t let that.
happen. I had to bring you here.”
“Why did you save me?” I asked, confusion mixing with curiosity. “I don’t understand.”
Vincenzo’s expression softened, but his eyes held a depth of emotion. “Because you saved me first. A long time ago.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, my brow furrowing. I racked my brain, trying to pull up any
Memory of him, but it was like trying to grasp smoke. I couldn’t remember anything.
Before I could ask more, the door suddenly burst open with a loud bang. I jumped, heart racing.
As a figure stormed into the room.
“Alpha!” the newcomer shouted, his voice urgent. “We’re ready to execute her!”
I felt a cold wave wash over me, panic gripping my heart. “Execute? What are you saying?
About?” I gasped, looking between Vincenzo and the intruder.
Vincenzo’s face hardened as he stood up, his body tense. “No! You can’t do this!”
“Why not? "She’s a rogue! "She’s dangerous!” the man argued, his eyes blazing with anger.
“I don’t care!” Vincenzo shouted back, his voice booming. “I won’t let you harm her!”
I felt a rush of fear and confusion. “What’s happening? Who are you?” I shouted, trying to
understand.
“Stay back!” Vincenzo ordered, stepping in front of me. “You don’t know her like I do!”
“Alpha, she’s a threat to our pack!” the man insisted, crossing his arms defiantly. "You’re putting all of us at risk!”
I could feel Vincenzo’s anger radiating off him, and it made my heart race. “I don’t care!” he
Shouted again. “She has done nothing wrong!”
The tension in the room was thick, and I could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on us. I turned to Vincenzo, desperate for answers. “Why are they saying this? What did I do?”
“You’re not a threat, Emily,” Vincenzo said, his voice softer now. You’re just caught in the middle.of this. I won’t let them hurt you.”
“But I’m just a rogue,” I said, my voice trembling. “I don’t even know why I’m here!”
The intruder shook his head in frustration, etching lines on his face. “You don’t get it! The pack can’t allow any rogue to live. It’s against our laws!”
“Enough!” Vincenzo shouted, his voice echoing off the walls. “I won’t let you take her". She’s important to me.”
“Important?” the man scoffed. “You’re risking everything for a rogue? This is madness!”
I felt lost, caught in the middle of their argument. “Vincenzo, what do I mean to you?” I asked,
My heart was pounding. “Why do you care?”
Vincenzo looked at me, his expression filled with intensity. “Because you’re part of something bigger, Emily. "There’s a reason you’re here, and I need to protect you.”
The intruder stepped forward, anger brewing in his eyes. “You’re putting us all at risk, Alpha!
She doesn’t belong here!”
I could feel the tension rising, the air thick with uncertainty. “Please, someone tell me what’s going on!” I cried, panic creeping back in.
“Emily,” Vincenzo said, turning to me, his voice steady. “You have to trust me." I promise I’ll keep you safe.”
“Your promises don’t matter if they kill me!” I shouted, my voice breaking. I felt trapped, like I was about to lose everything again.
The intruder glared at me, his eyes filled with disdain. “You’re just a rogue. You don’t belong in our world!”
I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes. “I don’t want to die! I just want to remember who I am!”
Vincenzo’s expression shifted, his eyes softening. “You will, Emily. I’ll help you remember. But first, we have to get out of here.”
“Alpha, you can’t be serious!” the man argued, disbelief etched on his face. If you run, it will
Only makes things worse!”
“I don’t care!” Vincenzo said, in determination hardening his voice. “I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her.”
“Vincenzo, please,” I said, my heart racing. “I don’t know what to do!”
“Stay with me,” he said firmly, stepping closer. “I won’t let anyone take you away.”
Just then, heavy footsteps approached from the hallway, and I could hear voices growing louder.
My heart raced as fear washed over me.
“Vincenzo, we don’t have much time!” I urged, panic rising. “What do we do?”
“Get ready,” he said, his expression turning serious. “We’re going to fight our way out of here.”
I felt a rush of adrenaline, but doubt crept in. “What if we can’t? What if they catch us?”
“Then we’ll face it together,” he replied, his eyes locking onto mine. “You’re not alone in this.”
As the door began to creak open, I knew our time was running out. I took a deep breath, ready to face whatever came next, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that everything was about to change.
“Emily,” Vincenzo said, his voice low and intense. “Whatever happens, remember that I’m here for you.”
Just then, the door swung open, and a group of werewolves stormed in, their eyes filled with hostility.
“Alpha! "What are you doing?” one of them shouted.
Vincenzo stepped in front of me, ready to fight. “I won’t let you take her!”
“Stand down!” the leader barked, his voice echoing in the room. “You have no idea what you’re risking!”
I felt my heart pound as the tension reached its peak, and I realized I had to make a choice.
Would I stay with Vincenzo and fight, or would I run for my life?
“Emily!” Vincenzo called, his eyes pleading. “What do you want to do?”
