Chapter Four

The air in the room was electric with tension as the group of werewolves stared at Vincenzo and me. I could feel their eyes burning into me, a mix of hostility and confusion. Vincenzo stepped forward, his body tense and ready for anything.

“Stop right there!” he shouted, his voice booming. “Emily is not your enemy." She is my Luna, and no one will harm her!”

The room erupted in chaos. “What are you talking about?” one of the wolves yelled in disbelief etched on his face. “You can’t just declare her Luna!”

“Why not?” Vincenzo shot back, anger flaring in his eyes. She is destined for this role. I won’t let anyone touch her!”

“Destined?” another wolf scoffed. “You’re risking everything for some rogue you just met?”

“Enough!” Vincenzo roared, his voice shaking the walls. “You don’t understand what’s at stake here!”

I felt a rush of confusion wash over me. Luna? What did that even mean? I had no memories, no understanding of this world or my place in it. “Vincenzo, what are you saying?” I asked, my voice shaking.

He turned to me, his expression softening. “It means you belong here, Emily. You are meant to be by my side.”

“But I don’t remember anything!” I exclaimed, panic rising in my chest. “How can I be yours?"

Luna?”

“Because I remember,” he replied, his eyes locked onto mine, filled with determination. “You

Saved me long ago. You are the one who can bring peace to our packs.”

The other wolves looked at each other, uncertainty creeping into their expressions. “You can’t

"Just claim her like that, Alpha!” one shouted. “What if she’s a danger to us all?”

“Danger?” Vincenzo snapped. “She’s done nothing wrong! If anything, she’s the key to our

survival.”

“Key to our survival?” another wolf echoed, skepticism in his tone. “You’re blinded by your

Emotions, Vincenzo!”

I felt overwhelmed. “Vincenzo, I don’t know how to be a Luna. I don’t even know who I am!”

“Then let me help you remember,” he said, stepping closer. “I’ll show you everything." I promise.” Just then, the leader of the group, a tall, muscular wolf with a scar across his face, stepped

Forward. “You’re making a big mistake, Vincenzo. If you choose to protect her, you’re putting us all at risk.”

“Risk?” Vincenzo shot back, his voice low and intense. “The real risk is letting her die without

Knowing her true power.”

I felt a rush of emotions. I wanted to believe him, but doubt crept in. “What power?” I asked, looking between them.

“The power of your lineage,” Vincenzo said, his voice steady. You come from a line of strong women, Emily. Your blood holds magic that can unite our clans.”

“Blood magic?” the scarred wolf scoffed, shaking his head. “That’s just a story to scare pups!”

“Is it?” Vincenzo shot back, his voice filled with conviction. “If you don’t believe me, then you’ll never understand the truth.”

The tension was thick in the air as the wolves continued to argue, their voices rising. I could feel the fear and uncertainty swirling around us. “What if I don’t want any of this?” I said, my voice shaking. “What if I just want to go back to my life?”

“Your life is gone, Emily!” Vincenzo exclaimed, desperation seeping into his tone. You can’t go back. You belong here, with me.”

I felt my heart racing. “But what if I’m not ready? What if they’re right?”

The scarred wolf took a step closer, his eyes narrowed. “You’re a rogue, and you’ll always be one. You think you can just waltz in here and become our Luna? It doesn’t work that way.”

“Enough!” Vincenzo roared, stepping forward. “If you want to challenge me, then do it." But I won’t let anyone harm her.”

The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging in the air. For a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of respect in the eyes of some of the wolves, but it was quickly replaced by doubt.

“You’re going to get us all killed, Vincenzo,” the scarred wolf said, his voice low. "You’re risking everything for a girl you barely know.”

“I know enough,” Vincenzo shot back, his eyes blazing. “I know that Emily is the key to our

future. And I will protect her at all costs.”

Just then, I felt a strange sensation wash over me, a tingling energy that made my skin prickle. I looked around, confused. “What’s happening?” I asked, my voice trembling. Vincenzo’s gaze locked onto mine, his expression serious. “It’s happening, Emily." You’re beginning to remember.”

Suddenly, flashes of images filled my mind, faces, places, and feelings. I saw a woman who looked just like me, standing tall and proud, surrounded by other wolves. I felt a connection to her, a sense of belonging that I had never experienced before.

“Emily?” Vincenzo said, concern etched on his face. “What do you see?”

“I don’t know,” I stammered, gripping the edge of the bed as the visions swirled around me.

Think I’m starting to remember something… but it’s all jumbled!”

“Focus on it!” Vincenzo urged, his voice steady. “Remember who you are!”

The images grew clearer, and I felt a rush of power coursing through me. I could see the woman again, her eyes filled with strength and wisdom. “I’m connected to them,” I whispered, realization dawning on me. “I’m part of something bigger.”

The surrounding wolves shifted, their expressions changing as they sensed the energy in the room. “What is happening?” the scarred wolf asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

“I don’t know!” I cried, feeling overwhelmed. “But I can feel it!”

Suddenly, the door burst open again, and a group of warriors stormed in, their eyes filled with fury. “Alpha!” one of them shouted. “We need to talk!”

“Not now!” Vincenzo snapped, his eyes still locked on me. “Emily is ”

“It’s about Emily!” the warrior interrupted, stepping forward. “She’s in danger!”

“What do you mean?” I asked, my heart racing. “What danger?”

“There’s a rogue hunter in the area,” the warrior explained, urgency in his voice. “They’re looking for you, and they won’t stop until they find you!”

“Rogue hunter?” I echoed, fear creeping in. “What do they want from me?”

“They want your blood,” the warrior said, his face grim. “They believe it holds the key to ultimate power and control over our packs.”

I felt a chill run down my spine. “My blood? Why?”

“The bloodline you come from is believed to be powerful,” the warrior replied, his voice steady.

“They want to harness that power for themselves.”

Vincenzo turned to me, his expression fierce. “We have to get you out of here, Emily. There’s no time to waste.”

“But I can’t just run away!” I protested, feeling torn. “I need to understand who I am and what’s happening!”

“Your safety comes first!” Vincenzo said firmly. “We’ll find answers later, but right now, you’re in

danger.”

I looked around at the wolves, uncertain of what to do. “But what if I could help? What if I could be the Luna you need?”

“Right now, we need to focus on keeping you alive,” Vincenzo said, determination in his eyes.

“We’ll figure everything out, but you have to trust me.”

As the urgency of the situation sank in, I felt the weight of my choices pressing down on me. Would I run, or would I stand my ground?

“Emily,” Vincenzo said, his voice low and intense. “Whatever happens, I will protect you." I won’t let anyone take you from me.

Just then, a loud crash echoed from outside, and I knew the danger was closer than ever.

“Get ready!” the warrior shouted, his voice filled with urgency. “They’re coming!”

I took a deep breath, feeling the adrenaline surge through me. “I’m ready,” I said, my voice

Steady. “Let’s fight.”
