Someone from his pack? I thought, feeling stupid for a moment. How could I not protect her? I asked within myself.

Why didn't I realize that she could be in danger knowing just how many enemies she was surrounded by?

I stood up and walked towards my window, boiling in anger as I gazed into the pack from above my office. I placed my hand across my chest, feeling the hurt that came with knowing she was nowhere to be found.

I guess this was a journey u will have to go on with to ensure she finally gets to be mine and do that which she deserved to do.

He sighted a field at a spot as he looked down and had a flashback.

The huge field that was more of a playground was beautifully decorated with the carpet grass. Kids played around innocently as Thalira then ran in with the pure intention of playing with them.

At that moment, the kids stood up and walked out like some poison had appeared.

I was sitting at the end of the field in between two huge plants as I watched the scene wondering what the hell that meant. That was one of the first times I had ever seen what hate looked like and I was bewildered but remained there as I watched little Thalira sit on the field to create her own happiness.

Thalira opened a box she saw close to her and brought out every single toy that she had seen in the box. Smiling, she started playing with it and after a few minutes, she was done playing and placed it all back but forgot to zip it close.

She can't even play for long. I had thought as I thought of ways to get to her.

She played on the field and I could feel she was already bored by her surroundings so she stood up to leave but the moment she stood up, she got kicked down again.

Not expecting such, she fell down hard on the floor as sounds of laughter echoed around the field.

My hands went into a fist and I had the urge to punch the life out of those kids. Regret sipped into me and I felt it was my fault because I had actually sighted those bullies coming but how would I know they were coming to discomfort Thalira? I stood up, ready to pounce on them when a young woman beat me to it. I couldn't make out what she was saying, but she really scolded the other kids and carried her child away.

I felt relaxed but a little bit bothered. What about when her mom won't be around? Would I ever be opportune to protect her?

Just like that day, history seemed to have repeated itself. It should be one of Thalira's most important days, but here it is, getting ruined because someone doesn't seem to like it.

I have to act fast else, I may lose her forever.

I always trust my instinct. It never lies and this time won't be an exception. Something in me kept saying this kidnap had something to do with someone from the pack. I clearly knew her enemies. Were there any other enemies I had no idea about? If so, who could they be?

Using the mind link, I messaged my Delta and went back to my office seat.

KNOCK! KNOCK!!

A knock could be heard a few minutes later.

"Come in" I answered and closed the large book I was trying to look through.

"Alpha! You sent for me," he said to me after bowing down.

"Yes, Axel! Sit!" I said to him in the most gentle manner that still sounded dangerous.

Sit?

I could read Axel 's expression. No one expects me to treat cases like this with kindness but seeing me kind eases whatever tension it was that they were to go through. I don't care though.

If only they could see my heart, they would know that they had to be more careful with me.

"Tell me everything that happened when you went to Thalira earlier," I commanded.

"Nothing special alpha."

"Really? No one was around you two?"

He squinted his eyes as realization sipped in.

"You found someone there?" I asked him as I watched the supposed hope disappear.

"just some girl. I think it's her step-sister. They don't seem to be in agreement though."

"Really?"

I just knew it. But what do I do now? I thought. I wanted to be extra careful so she won't get hurt. Thalira was too innocent to get hurt by some unknown shit.

"I noticed the young girls were not around right now. I will go check on her in her house. The whole tribes in the pack are at the meeting hall just as you instructed."

"Great!" I replied and signaled for him to leave. I stood up immediately as well and headed to the hall.

Seeing the werewolves of the pack seated, I stopped for a second as I looked through the whole room with anger in me.

I could feel the shivers from them. They stood up to greet cut before they could open their mouth, I shut them up with a signal using a palm of mine. They all stood frozen and I had no intention of telling them to sit.

"Thalira is missing. I am sure you all are aware of it by now. I won't speak too much about it but I advise you all to get your ass up and search for her through every hook and cranny. No mistakes! We need her for this Triumph Procession." I said loudly and turned to leave. Till I left completely, there was no sound from the hall and even a pin drop could be heard clearly.

But I didn't care. I wasn't joking anymore. I am all in on my action right now.

Making up my mind, I finally decided to get a scapegoat.
