Chapter 9

Draven's pov

Later that evening when it was time to visit the location where the triumph procession will take place.

I, Alpha Draven paced all over the room fuming. If I wasn't strong enough, I would have broken down in tears because somehow, I felt as though I was losing a part of me. I sat on my chair and a few minutes later, I heard a knock on my office door.

"Come in," I said without looking up

'Alpha it's time" my Delta said to me. I looked up at him for a moment, sick of what to say.

One of the things I loved was orderliness but my pack was nothing as such at that moment. I wished everything would go back to normal at that moment but was that possible? Blackfur, my beta was in the Red Den and it was the same for a few other important people. I am not done though. I hope for this arrest to carry on if it will bring my mate back to me.

"Postpone it to the next three days," I ordered Axel and signaled that he leave.

Obediently, he bowed and left. The office then went back to just having me inside of it. I stood up and went to my favorite part of my office which was my window. It was so high from the earth that it gave me the chance to see the whole Pack and some affairs that could be happening.

"Thalira HAS A STEP MOM!"

Those words resounded in my ears and I stood frozen as I held onto the window.

Why did I hear that though? I thought curiously.

Did they have something to do with it?

I then shut down the window and dashed out of my office to the other side of the pack. As I walked through the middle-class parts, the commoners gave way as they hailed respectfully. I got to Blackfur's home and entered the building. In the compound were different buildings, for different parts of people in his life. One of the best on the compound seemed to belong to his wife who was Thalira's stepmom. It wasn't hidden as it was clearly written at the front of the building for everyone to see.

"Ravenna Blackfur Garrik"

She must really like to show off. I thought with a smirk on my face as I then got to the door and opened it. Behold I spotted Ravenna on her sofa with two other unknown women having fun with each other on the couch.

I was stunned. Her husband was arrested just yesterday and she was already entertaining not just a man but two other women.

Blackfur's competition was women. His home was surely ruined.

Hearing the door open, I watched them flinch and looked towards the door.

"Huh? Alpha! Gosh!" They all exclaimed as they tried to find their little pieces of clothing to cover their naked bodies.

I wasn't moved even for a bit. Instead, I was disgusted. Approaching them, I ensured I slammed the door and when I got closer to where they lay, they were already freezing in fright.

"I don't care what you do. I just want Thalira." I said to her.

"Alpha I have no idea where she went to."

"What do you mean by where she went? She didn't go anywhere. She was kidnapped." I responded.

"Thalira is an irresponsible girl Alpha. I'm sure she is not missing. She probably ran off to one of her boyfriends"

" Shut your tongue. You are the irresponsible one 'cause what are you doing making out with two other women when your stepdaughter has been missing for so many hours? You sulk!" I retorted and walked out.

When I got out, to not cause shame and drama, I slammed the door shut to prevent werewolves outside from peeping in. I then spotted Axel standing at the door waiting for me.

"Grab them!" I said to him and walked away.

Before I got to my house, I already saw them waiting for me. The three women were with Ravenna on the floor, looking on in shame.

"throw her in the Red Den" I then said and walked in. I needed to think of something.

Later at night, I made my way to the red den to question my captives. On getting there, I tried to talk to Blackfur, but no matter how I tortured him, he had nothing to say.

"Everything I do is for the sake of our pack and its reputation. I would never do anything to bring drama to this pack." Blackfur kept saying. I had to leave him and move straight to Ravenna. That woman was hell-bent on making life harder. I literally had to make Axel wash her with hot water after she demanded I free her in exchange for her body.

Exhausted, I made my way back to my room.

"Thalira, are you running? I'm doing all I can to find you. Please show up or give me a clue. No one is saying anything. My warriors have nothing to say either. Axel is doing his best. Why don't you try? Do you need my help?" I muttered, looking up at the ceiling.

I tossed and turned on the bed till sunrise. The moment I got to open my eyes, the imagery of Thalira surfaced on my face.

It felt like a trance. Her green eyes were teary. She looked tired and very exhausted from her life. It felt as though I was staring into her soul. Suddenly, I stretched my hands to hold her face and the moment I thought I was about to feel her face, she disappeared.

Shocked, I jumped on the bed and held my chest as I tried to process my thoughts. I didn't get it at that point but one thing was for sure, Thalira was in danger.

Grabbing both sides of my head, I stood up, cleaned up for the day, and got dressed for war.
