Chapter 7. Kiara's obsession

Conri had just closed from a business summit one afternoon and was about to enter his vehicle when he saw a replica of Benson.

He was Inspector Farcas's assistant years back. His heart jumped with joy as he paused, then rushed over to him. He greeted him warmly with the hope of getting some information. The man was amazed as he couldn't recall the man before him.

“Sorry, my friend, have we met before?” The confused man asked Conri.

“Of course, we have met before, Benson. I am Doctor Conri, a friend of your partner Farcas. Or should I say, your former partner, Inspector Farcas?” Conri explained with a smile.

“Oh, I see, I am so sorry, but you have the wrong man. I guess our resemblance could be tricky. I am not Benson. I am not even a police officer. I am a lecturer at Sunset City University. I am Dave, Benson’s twin brother,” Dave explained.

“Oh, nice to meet you, Dave. Your resemblance is awesome. How about Benson? I haven't seen him or his partner around. I need to talk to either of them, please,” He asked hopefully.

“Concerning Inspector Farcas, I heard he traveled after my brother's death. I haven't seen him since then. Conri cut him short in surprise.

“What! Benson is dead? Oh, I am so sorry, Dave. I have no idea, my condolences”. Conri added meekly.

Dave said it was okay, and it had been over the years. So they shook hands and parted ways.

Conri felt so sad and disappointed that he couldn't get any information about Farcas. He wondered if he had gone back to his pack or relocated to another city, or if he was dead as well.

Sadly, Conri entered the vehicle and drove home. Hoping against all hope that he would get some info about Sir Ralph one day.

On his arrival, Nanny Kiara noticed that he wasn't feeling happy, so she tried to find out what was worrying him.

It had been seven years since Kiara's arrival with Conri to Sunset City. Kiara was a nanny from Conri's pack who followed him to Sunset City. She was picked to help in taking care of the triplets that were in Conri's care.

“Oh no, why do you look so down? Did you lose a patient today?” Kiara asked Conri.

He responded that he didn't and went straight to his room without any explanation.

Kiara had long harbored a secret admiration for Conri, even before she became the nanny to the triplets. However, Conri had made it clear that he couldn't reciprocate her feelings. Yet she didn't want to give up. As the newly crowned Alpha king, Conri faced pressure from Gonzalo and others to find his mate, based on the fact that he needed Luna by his side. For a month, he searched their globe, but to no avail. Despite his frustration, he held onto the belief that his mate was out there, waiting for him.

Kiara, being aware that he was sad, followed him as he retreated to his room. She was concerned about his happiness. So she knocked on the door, but he dismissed her, saying he didn't want to talk. Undeterred, Kiara persisted, knocking again. Conri's anger flared as he growled,

"Kiara, can't you see I don't want to talk? Leave me be!"

But Kiara didn't stop; she opened the door and entered, approaching him as he stood at the window, his back to her.

"Conri, please share what's troubling you," she said, her voice soft and gentle. But Conri spun around, his eyes flashing with irritation.

"Don't push me further, Kiara. It's Alpha King to you, not Conri. Now, leave me alone!"

His sharp tone and stern expression left Kiara taken aback, but she stood her ground, her eyes locked on his, filled with a deep longing. She never gave up on trying to get close to him. She walked closer to him.

“Alpha king, I am sorry, but you appeared to be too pissed recently, and it is affecting me. Please tell me what is bothering you, maybe I could be of help”. Kiara said gently.

Conri became calm, “Come on, just let it be. There is nothing you can do about it. I think I will never find her again. If I had known it would come to this, I would have kept track of them. Tala is about to celebrate her eighteenth birthday, but I don't even know her”. He lamented emotionally.

Initially, when Kiara asked him if he had lost a patient, and he responded negatively, she knew instantly that he must be feeling bad due to his daughter. She knew he mostly got emotional and blamed himself for not asking about Ashina and his daughter’s whereabouts after her birth. So she usually used such an opportunity to get closer to him. Last time, he got carried away and ended up in bed with her. She was happy with her achievement and kept up the hope that Conri would be hers.

She felt like it was another opportunity with him since he was emotional. She was ready to use the opportunity to her advantage. So she moved closer and slipped her hand into his.

“Alpha king, I know it's very painful to search for your own and not find her, but you don't have to be like this almost every time. I believe you will find her. I don't know where or when, but I sure know that you will find your girl. Who knows, she might be looking for you as well. So just keep up the hope”.

Kiara's words were like honey, sweet and soothing, capturing Conri's attention and gentle enough to calm his worries. He nodded his head in appreciation, his eyes locked on hers, as he held her hand in a gesture of gratitude.

"Yes, Kiara, hope is all I need. Thank you for your encouragement. It means a lot to me." His voice was sincere, and his gaze lingered on hers, showing his appreciation.

But Kiara noticed the lingering worry in his eyes and reached out, her voice soft and gentle.

"You still look troubled, Conri. Please, relax. Let me help you find peace." She said as she leaned in and kissed his cheek.

She stared directly into his eyes, her gaze piercing and probing his inner core. Conri felt himself getting lost in her eyes, remembering the last time they stood together, side by side, and how she had pleasured him with both words and her body. His heart skipped a beat as he tried to withdraw his hand, but Kiara held on tight.

"Come on, Conri, my hand won't bite you," she said with a gentle smile. "Please, let me hold you. It brings me joy to be around you. Let me please you, feel, and share in my happiness." She kissed his other cheek.

Her words were like a gentle breeze, but Conri's mind was made up as his wolf snarled. “Hey, she is not our mate, you have to control yourself”. Instantly, he disengaged his hand from hers, his movements firm but gentle, as he forced himself to break the connection.

“Conri, let me stay with you, please. I will make you happy. Just give me a chance to love you”. Kiara pleaded.

“Please stop it, I have told you that I don't feel the same way. Please let's not waste each other's time”.

As he was saying that, she didn't give up but wrapped her hand around his waist, trying to force a kiss.
