Autumn’s POV

Lectures ended and the hall emptied slowly. People moved out in small groups, talking and laughing. My head felt heavy, like the letters and the attacks were sitting on my shoulders. I walked beside Gina, but my eyes watched the gate. I saw the same shadow follow behind a few yards away. The man I suspected was still there.

I tried to keep my face calm. Gina smiled at me like nothing was wrong. She babbled about class and about the pack festival coming soon. I heard her words ...
