I suddenly became aware of how lost I had been and I felt embarrassed immediately, without a warning, I pushed the door inward, catching Prince Keith completely off guard. He had been halfway through closing it, his expression a mix of annoyance and...something else I couldn't quite decipher in the dim light of his chamber.

"I didn't permit you to step into my room, Heather," he said, his voice low, a clear indication of his growing irritation.
