Diego had told Leona to meet him in the hotel for a private moment with her and she turned up to keep a date with him.
“It is suite 548,” the receptionist told her once she stepped into the motel, “Diego left instructions that you should wait for him in the room and he will join you soon,” the young lady added, and gave her keys to the suite.
Leona, shut in her gloom, shrugged heavily and took a bold step of possibility into the corridor to access the suite. Once she opened the door, a riveting well-lit room with flowers and a gold ring on the bed shot into her eyes.
And on the wall was written; PLEASE MARRY ME, LEONA.
For a moment, she stood lost and stolen, and eyes widening in a shocking gaze as she gagged her mouth with her palms and couldn’t even scream. She placed her hand on her chest, “Oh my God! Oh my God! This is awesome. Oh honey, where are you?” she combed her gaze around, stamping her feet impatiently.
From behind, Diego crept out like a shadow and grabbed her waist. “Don’t say no. Please, be my wife,” he whispered into her ears, tickling her.
With the freedom she earned, she swirled around and hugged him tightly. Without letting Diego get the ring, she took it and hastily wore it herself. From the moment they dated six year ago, Leona’s ambition had always been all about answering Mrs. Pablo.
Diego had accused her of infidelity and she denied. Despite leading to their breakup, Diego never thought he would make such a flirt his wife. It was in the heated moment he found Angela and made her his wife.
“Ever thought about what life has been for me since I married Angela,” he reminded Leona, “Perhaps if I had married you, we would probably have gotten about ten children now,” he joked and they laughed about it, “I can see you can’t wait to be my wife and I can’t wait to be your husband either. In a short while you have transformed my life, honey,” he stroked her chin.
She waved her fingers, her pupils filled with so much fulfillment and expectations. “I can’t wait to wave my fingers at my cousin whishing them merry Christmas,” she chirped, and laughed deeply, “You have made me a fulfilled woman, baby, and I am not going to take it for granted.”
“This is just the tip of the ice berg, honey,” he sounded. “Wait until you become the mother of my kids and I will spoil you with the riches of this world.”
She hugged him a few more times and held his chin, “Oh come on, that is going to happen in a few weeks. Two of my sisters have twin babies. It runs in our family and I will give it to you. You will realize I am not that barren Angela that couldn’t even afford a miscarriage let alone get pregnant.”
“Can I ask you a favor?” he winked anxiously, “Can you do me the favor of not reminding me of that miserable woman? The thought of the trauma I went through in that marriage leaves me with scorn and shadows.”
She chuckled and patted his shoulders, “Oh thank you, honey, I will never do that again. Don’t let her ruin our day. So talking about the engagement, my uncle has been fascinated to meet you, dear.”
“Your uncle? Which of them?” he asked, his brow knitted thoughtfully, “Is it Ferdinand Coleman?”
“Oh yes, dear,” she interrupted him, “Ferdinand Coleman, the brain behind the ICT contract I gave you. He is hosting us to a dinner in his mansion and I wouldn’t want us to miss it, since he changed our lives with that contract.”
“Oh , there is absolute need to meet him. Why won’t we meet the billionaire that gave me a mind-blowing contract? We will make it tonight. He is such a philanthropist and I can’t wait to meet him for the first time.”
“Oh , I am getting married!” she chirped, and was all over him and wouldn’t want to let him be. She quickly took out her phones to share the news with her friends and associates.
The mansion was well decorated, the stereotype mansion synonymous with billionaires in New York. Once they drove in, they were welcomed by gentle-looking servants who led them into the ballroom, which featured mouth-watering dishes.
“Please, make your selves comfortable. Our boss will be with you soon,” the servant told them and left to call Ferdinand Coleman.
“This is magnificent,” Diego said, staring around and catching sight of the wonders and splendor of the mansion.
“Oh that is my uncle!” she eulogized once she caught sight of him. She hastened up to him with a weird hug and they brushed cheeks, “Nice to meet you uncle,’ she intoned and he led her to the dining.
“Been a while, niece. I am happy to see you again,” he said and gazed at Diego who stood up at once, his smile held, “And who is the young man?” he asked smiling at Leona.
“Oh, uncle, meet my fiancée, Diego, and Diego meet my very amiable, uncle, Ferdinand Coleman.”
She had barely said when Ferdinand dimmed his stare at Diego. “Diego? The same Diego, your ex-boyfriend?”
“Yeah , uncle but now my fiancée…”
“In fact we have a wedding to plan, sir,” Diego smiled cheerfully and bowed.
Ferdinand shrugged and they sat down to eat. In the middle of their discussion, he told Diego, “Leona means the world to me. I gave you that contract because of her, most especially for the fact that you want to marry her, and I am happy hearing that you are about to get married. It is something I have been expecting from the both of you. You have two months to execute that contract and once you perform well, I will connect you to my allies and associates that will give you more.”
“Oh, thank you, sir. I am very grateful, sir,” Diego bowed and clicked his fingers with Leona’s.
